  1. Mine are similar... in other words.... they are not "over the ear like my Black Widows------ They seem to work just fine in the wind.
  2. i dont buy that explanation.. too many people had their hands on it not to notice....I mean they do have a QA dept right?

  4. He is like a ghost in the night........lol inside joke...
  5. Agreed... But the gold will break thru at the lower "threshold" settings in my experience---- it is just very taxing on the mind to listen to the warble ---so if it feels better at 3, that's where i would hunt. I find if i have to listen to too much chatter..... it is not a good experience for me and i will quit earlier---that's a personal choice----and that is also why i am selling my SDC. No doubt it will pick up the fly specks and some spongy crazy looking nuggets, but that is not for me. paul
  6. It looks so simple and it is...but it took Chris Porter to make it up.. Probably worth it's weight in gold to all the sore shouldered old timers ....... and even the young bloods who are smart enough enough to use it before they wreck their shoulder! Enjoy! My pleasure! paul
  7. The SunRay for the ETRAC works great IMO--- (by the way my experience with the SunRay was on coins with the ETRAC so I guess i really don't know how it works on gold...) It is an extension of the coil and the sound comes thru your speaker or headset and SOUNDS just like the detector sounds on targets... I have used the Falcon and it will work .........but using it for a pin-pointer is a last case scenario for me---- I only i used it in Greaterville, AZ when i was using a 20 inch coil ......... and I had to use something or dig holes as big as VW's--(which i did anyways)---- it would get the bullets pretty easily, but gold would have to be within an inch, I would think---- paul
  8. NorNev---- Pretty gold... I found 8 cents today with a borrowed 705-----coin shooting way over near Crystal Mountain (or Peak)---whichever it is called....
  9. I used the 15 x 8 last summer on my 3500 and really liked it--it was heavy enough to hold down the grass and i could NOT get it to false when i hit a rock with it--i absolutely tried to make it false until i was afraid i was going to crack the case. No dog in the hunt....just what i experienced and give credit where credit is due.
  10. Hahahahahaaha....thats a fact Norvic!!!! I truly laughed out loud on that one mate! paul
  11. Love it !!! "Usually when you get them this size there is a big one around." Nice patch for sure!
  12. My sweep speed would be way too fast if i listened to that music---hahahahaha I would have to take my Geritol.. Give me some more videos!!!!! I think you are getting a big fan base over here.... i love watching those rippers come out of the ground.....big or small----me likes them all !!! paul PS I am from Tennessee..... country music capital--(although todays C/W aint what it used to be----(is anything) Hillbilly !!!
  13. Here is an excerpt from their website Dale. Hidden in the isolated northwest corner of Nevada, lies Virgin Valley. Despite it's arid and desolate location, rockhounds and miners from all over the world travel here to search for the beautiful black opal for which this area is famous. These spectacular opals are prized by collectors, lapidary enthusiasts and jewelers worldwide. This area is famous for the rare and fabulous black opal, known to occur in only two places on Earth; the Virgin Valley, Nevada and New South Wales, Australia. These wonderful specimens flash and gleam with a rainbow of brilliant reds, blues, greens and purples in a jet black matrix. Prime examples can be worth more per carat than even diamonds. Also found in the area is opal in a variety of colors and types from the famous black opal to the amber colored honey opal, the clear jelly or crystal opal, and the pure white matrix of the lechosos or milk opal, all of which can contain the stunning play of color which signifies the 'precious opal.' Most of the opal is in the form of replaced wood and limb casts. Sometimes retaining the characteristics of the ancient wood in incredible detail. It is theorized that this area was once the location of a large lake surrounded by lush forests of sequoia, spruce, hemlock, birch, cedar, larch and chestnut. This prehistoric forest was devastated by a series of volcanic eruptions which buried the forests, lakes and accumulated driftwood with layer upon layer of ash. Over millions of years, the silica-rich water of the areas hot springs seeped through the layers of ash and slowly replaced the buried wood with hydrated silica molecules. Under the right conditions precious opal may form.

  19. Hahaha, i went out to NorNev last week... by the time i got there it was very windy and dusty-----and i was very tired... so i just dropped the drivers seat back in my Yukon and went off to sleep... Woke up to the splat, splat, splat, of raindrops!!! ------and you know what that means out there----same thing----- i fired her up and headed back home---- A quick turnaround for sure... I laughed out loud when you described the sounds of splat, splat, splat,---because i could relate to it...
  20. I once put a sling on my GB2 and used it along with my 3500 in NorCal tailing piles--- i just kept it collapsed as far as it would go---didnt weigh much.... I also enjoyed team hunting with the 5000 and the Deuss as the discriminator----One person followed behind the 5000 man and checked all targets...
