  1. $139 isn't near as bad as I thought they might charge for it. I'll grab one around Feb in anticipation of spring.
  2. Before I'd commit to an 8" coil, I'd like to be sure we won't see a 6" within the next couple years (which would be my preference).
  3. I really don't get the what's wrong posts. The 700 and 900 only really needed a fairly minor software change to be ready to go on the tooling already set up for the Manticore. Manticore only recently finalized software and the tolerances on the coils are MUCH tighter meaning lower production numbers anyway.[
  4. Are we talking the Poland video? I may be off base as I glanced it late last night, but aren't the circles on the ground just the markings of where the targets are and the upper right told the depth buried? I think he had some close nails to coins at depth.
  5. NASA-Tom confirmed the Minelab wireless headphones are the only wireless option. No wireless module or bluetooth compatibility. Wired of course is an option. Claims this is lower latency, clearer, and better for EMI.
  6. The further away from the middle horizontal line, the more ferrous the target. Above the line is nails and large iron, below are things like bottle caps.
  7. The dollar is strong. Working in our favor this time.
  8. I personally would have just called it Zeus. Father of the Gods, lightning striking the ground.... Later the could release the Aphrodite, the detector you'll love. I could say to the guys, "Hey, I see you're sporting an Aphro!!!" Minelab, if you're listening, I'm available for a marketing position.
  9. I know, I own one I bought new in 2001 for $179. It's my competition coil (except for deep hunt competitions). I dread the day it dies.
  10. My information was the new detector(s) coming out wouldn't interest me, thus not a higher than equinox detector (excluding the possibility of a new prospecting model). Mid-range and a gold machine sounds right to me.
  11. Garrett recently hired new engineers (four I think...). They aren't just resting on laurels.
