  1. Well i will be looking very hard at Nokta smf compared to my Whites v3i using correlate for jewellery. With 5 different programs its unbeatable tuned correctly. It beats digging heeps of plugs and the time factor just gets you results of the goodies.
  2. E-mailed Centerville Electronics about Whites replaceable covers for ear muffs. No reply. Does any one know where i can get covers from .I am in Australia. Regards.
  3. This is my thought to Mike tid resolution with the nox .I have not got a nox but use a tight program with a low resolution on the v3i. I have noticed quite a few 11 coming up from other nox users. Thanks guys.
  4. Has anyone tried using just the vdi of 11 with every thing else discriminated for gold rings?
  5. Howdy, what range of vdi's did the rings come in on the nox.
  6. Go for the 800 if its his first detector then its better to start off with the extra settings and learn it well. For the extra dollars the 800 is well worth it..
  7. Well i use the Whites v3i in correlate and it deliveries the goods ......... but its 11 years old. The Equinox is a bit of a stuff up by Minelab as there vdi are not expanded as with the v3i -95 -0 + 1 -95 which spreads them targets out a bit As in Oz 1 cent close to the dollar coins with the Equinox 20 vdi with the v3i in the 70 so you can isolate the one and two cent pieces. You are digging a lot more junk with the nox compared to the v3i. using the 7 inch dd Mars Lion coil .......But i would like to see a bippa with some finer faster ferness. There is a range that the bling falls into if using the v3i you are looking in the low range - through to VDI 19 & you also have them in the higher range. An example of some rings 9.10.11.13.14.15.17.18.19.23.25,27,28,32,34,35,39,41,51,52,62,75.......Pull tabs 18,21,22,28,30,35,36,38,39,41. This is in parks etc Water is a another story p.i territory if you really want to get depth. But for me at 82 and still out there swinging any thing that will make it easier to retreive the goodies im in for. My pinpointer is fitted to a hollow steel handle a meter long so i can pinpoint with out bending over anything to make it easy.
  8. How many guys would like JUST A BLING BEEPA. Designed completely for recovering jewellery. Having a lower range and medium so you can just get bling with a bit of rubbish included. Come on their from Nokta Makro you guys can do it.
  9. And its the 16th down here to.............Looking for the WHITE sort of answer.............ive just turned up the threshold waiting for it to get louder i am all ears.
  10. I bought mine from Poland but they do not have any at the moment. I paid $388 ozzie dollars delivered to Australia. Regards Pinpointa.
  11. Well Minelab had a problem with the exterra range of coils . In all the years of detecting i have only had one coil fail with the ears breaking and that was on the Exterra 70. Minelab Adelaide replaced it no problem. Regards .
  12. Thanks Locator. That has been my feeling right from the start. I think all frequencies should be the same vdi. Regards Pinpointa.
  13. Thanks Big tim 7 Steve, The coil is v rated tried 2.5 the vdi were 2 numbers off 7.5 spot on 22.5 vdi was off again. So i will stick to 7.5 as thats what i know with the vdi on the other coils. So it looks like the coil is ok as i haven't used it for a long long time. Thanks again guys for your help Regards.
  14. El tried that vdi numbers are still way out compared to the other coils Steve i always have the right coil setting for the coil. The coil works fine it ground balances it is just vdi are completely different compared to the other coils. Regards.
  15. Being using the eleptical eclipse 10x6 & the small shooter. The vdi on both those coil are the same With our ozzie $2 54 & $1 55-60 10 cent 19. 20 cent 37 50 cent 47 5 cent 14 N now i havent used the 10 inch for a long time but tried it today, 10 cent was spot on 19 but the other number were way out. Could this be a crook coil. It ground balances spot on. Regards.
  16. It will be interesting to see mine was the original v3 and i had it back to the states changed to the v3i. The v3 was a lot easier to ground balance than the v3i and the wireless transfer was good. I had a mate that had the the v3 so we could transfer programs between each other. let us know how you go with it EL. Regards Pinpointa.
  17. Hi Guys, With the equnox can you accept everything and give the vdi you don't wan't a no tone and alot different tones to the ones you wan't. Like on the Whites v range. Regards .
  18. Using the V3 in Correlate for Gold Rings After programing the V3I in many different settings for gold jewellery i finally come up with using correlate & coin & jewellery. Well you would think by using 22.5 single frequency you would be on a good thing with gold jewellery. The problem is it just goes bananas on trash. The readout on your screen is showing you a good pattern with the camel humps or the 3 bars Your main objective is finding gold with the least amount of trash. When you are detecting non ferrous say gold with non ferrous aluminium & you are getting a good reading on both targets then its no advantage. That’s where the V3I comes into its own with its multi frequencies mode small gold has a distinct footprint than small aluminium. Small gold has a larger volume small aluminium trash has a lot less. 22.5 will be the same readout on both. The 2.5 kHz will show you a total different picture. Telling the difference of a small target from a not a tiny target in respect to 22.5 good target 7.5 some discrimination & 2.5 tells you volume. Correlate using 3 frequencies is best used to dig all targets that give you a repeatable ping Correlate takes the strongest frequencies to 7.5kHz. Where as high conductive targets are looking at the 2.5kHz. reaction and the 7.5kHz. reaction, low conductive targets are looking at the 7.5kHz. To the 22.5 kHz. So i use 3 frequencies coin & jewellery correlate mode having your span first off at one with frequency offset at +5 At 1 you will be able to get a lot of low conductor gold rings but almost all aluminium tabs will not respond. At 2 on the span you will increase the gold ring acceptance. But you start to increase your rubbish. Its a matter of using your frequency offset into the minus and plus -5 to +5 look at it setting span as your ruff setting & the offset as your very fine setting. Span & offset till you get best settings. One other thing. I use my disc. starting at - 35 through to vdi 19 your Nickle, Recovery around 35-45 gain & sensitivity gain cut back so you are in grass roots depth settings like filters is up to you which ever suits your area. One other thing is coils. You need a very small footprint to be able to get the best results in getting through the trash. I have the 4X6 shooter which is very good in heavy trash but the 5.3 concentric with the cone just gets a little bit deeper and is far better as the gold gets smaller. Here is a range of gold ring vdis 6 7 8 9 10 11 13 14 17 18 19 23 25 27 28 32 34 35 39 41 51 52 62 75 Pull Tabs. 18 21 22 28 30 35 36 38 39 41. Once finishing the grid pattern i have on the ground i move back to the start and introduce my second program which starts at 20 through to 75. It takes a lot of time but you can go home with a clear mind that you have covered the area to the best of your ability. I had a lot of help with this from Mike Hillis he really is switched on in programing the v3 & v3i. Thanks Mike you are a legend.
  19. Thanks Guys , For all of the replys. Regards Pinpointa.
  20. Hi Guys, What sort of set up are you guys using on the equinox 800 for gold jewellery in parks etc. Regards Pinpointa.
  21. Hi Dan , I would go with Steve i have had it happen when the batteries get down a fair way, another thing is did you try a different program after you went to single frequency. If that fails send it back to Whites to iron it out. Regards.
