  1. Most manufacturers guarantee proper function of their IC's for 10 yrs. Every step beyond is a gift. And as Steve H. said, the most capacitors tend to dry out; at what time I dunno. Personally I think the most changes will have the coils balance.
  2. Hello Steve. It's really nice how you take care of us. But for now I think there is no need to restrict PMs for new members as everyone has the option to PM B$ via the button. (yes, it is there also in PM) Personally, I've never had spam or other bad stuff on board here via PM. But maybe others have had different experiences? Thanks for your time.
  3. Welcome aboard, Detectin5280. Think you found the right site for the new hobby, a bunch of nice and helpful people here around and tons of good information to read. And if you found something don't forget to post photos, too. We love to see pictures. Good Luck and have fun.
  4. Congratulations, King O(f) Bling. Nice hunt and a pile of finds. WTG BTW, will you use the CPU or can I have it ?? (nah, just kidding๐Ÿ˜‰) Well done. Looks like you had some fun.๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ˜Ž
  5. I'm with GB_Amateur and also use an Excel spreadsheet with all the infos where the find was done, which detector/coil combo was used, depth and mostly an photo of the item and yes, zip-lock bags are used to store the goodies and giving them to the archaeologists with an index in the bag. Nice thread btw, Ridge Runner.๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ˜Ž
  6. Looks like a good day to me. Beach, detecting, good finds. Great. WTG, mn90403.

  11. Looks like you both found big treasure. ๐Ÿ˜‰๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ‘โœจโœจ Happy Holidays
  12. Hey Strick. From what I see it is not to much iron there. Think for starting with a new detector it is a great result and you dug a haul of relics, - and I think you had a great day and more fun than working would be.๐Ÿ˜‰๐Ÿ˜Ž Better Luck next time.๐Ÿคž
  13. Welcome aboard, OhioHunter, nice to have ya here. I quit that bad habit in 2001 and have never looked back. From what I've read you have a lot of experience with different detectors under your belt. Good Luck and have fun.
  14. Hello Daz. Welcome aboard and good to have ya here. Good Luck & have fun.
  15. Welcome aboard, Jack. Now that you own a MXT and a DFX and the coils coming with the V3i are V-rated I'd go for it. The V3i will be a nice addition and I think after a few hunts it will replace the DFX. The MX Sport you're mentioning has different coil connectors so if a coil selection is important to you you have to collect a second row. Depending on all the quirks and issues the Sport had I'd let it go. IMHO
  16. Welcome aboard, TroyLPN. What paradise are you talking about? Paradise Inn?? ๐Ÿ˜‰๐Ÿ˜ Just kidding. Good Luck & have fun.
  17. Hello DemWau. Welcome to the forums. A lot of stuff to read for winter time to be prepared for the warmer seasons. Good Luck & have fun.
  18. Hello Cristiano and welcome aboard. So you're doing your own detectors. Are they some special for the area you're huntingh in?? or for the targets you're after may be?? Anyway, have a great time here and fun.
