  1. Great find and the nox won't let you down once you learn more about it. I plan to go out on Sunday afternoon for a while if my neck isn't hurting. I have had less pain now for a couple of days and have been wanting to go for so long that I have to try it. Good luck on your next hunt.
  2. Do I see a pooper scooper ready to clean up, it should be close to the toilet paper somewhere.
  3. Should you be looking for deep water MD I would not use the 800 at all. Now that I have stated that, I will let you know that for almost any other type of MD'ing you can't go wrong with the 800. It is great on land and in the areas where most people lose things in the water at the beach. You really need to figure out where you are going to use your MD the most and get it for that reason. You can always get a unit strictly for under water use at a later date. Hope you make your choice soon and if you need any help there are some of the best people here waiting to help you.
  4. Steve, That looks like the one I lost about 9 years ago, I think the size was either 10 or 12. 2 tone gold with 1/2 carrot of diamonds, and 10k. Should it have been the one i lost it could not have gone to a better person. We were in a boat hitting all the beaches and parties for the weekend and I lost it somewhere in about 6 feet of water. Have never been back to that lake since. Good luck on your next hunt there and stay cool as it does get very hot there.
  5. Congrats on your finds, and that is a nice hand you have.
  6. Welcome Kevin, I am glad to see you here and hope that you will share for photos of finds and your knowledge of detectors. There are many others here to help with any questions that you might have.
  7. Welcome to the forum and you made a good choice on a detector, as others have stated go slow and learn your new unit. I have had mine almost a year and I am still learning, I am hoping to get back out there this next week if my neck allows it. Happy hunting!
  8. David, Have you ever tried near Fontana Dam, I heard there was some gold in the old river bed there. I wonder if that is true or not.
  9. Great find GB glad that you finally got one of those. I just wonder how many of those you may have past over thinking that it was a pull tab.
  10. Great find and it should really clean up nice. Good luck on your next hunt.
  11. Great find and hope you find many more unless you live near me. Good luck on your next hunt.
  12. Glad to know that, but I am in a state with a dictator who does what he wants.
  13. Welcome to the forum, there is lots of information to help anyone, if you can't find what you are looking for just ask.
  14. Welcome aboard and happy hunting. Please post your findings with pictures so we all can see.
  15. Glad to see you here this is a great forum. What part of Tennessee are you at? I used to live outside Memphis is the reason I ask.
  16. Great finds and I hope it keeps up. Happy hunting.
  17. The bottom picture is from a Navy corps man circa 1944. The Doctor Scholls piece is for corrective shoes early 1920's. The silver pin is nice and after you clean it in a ultrasonic jewelry cleaner will be a nice item for your wife. Should the flower have a red center jewel I have seen other similar from the 1920's. Nice hunting and I hope I have helped a little bit.
  18. Great finds, like you said it's all gold and that is good. Happy hunting and good luck!
  19. Sean, Chase gave some very good information for your problem, and all I can add is that I have ran into the same problem. The only way I was able to get to hunt near the sidewalk under the power lines was to turn the sensitivity down to 13-15 and then do a noise cancel. Once that was done I was able to ground balance 18 inches away from the sidewalk because of the rebar in the sidewalk. I have used this method several times and have had no problems, also have you been using the latest update on your unit as that will help also.
  20. Very nice find and in good condition, should you give a cleaning make sure that it is a gentle one as it is hard to find. Good luck on your next hunt!
  21. As Steve has already pointed out that is a good reason to get it. Can it do what you want, with the right coil I believe it will. So here is another nudge, so go for it!
  22. With all the units that you already have I think you have enough toys to play with. All kidding aside the units that you already have will do better than the DFX that you are thinking about. The choice is yours to make of course, but do you really need to get it with everything you already have. That is the real question or are you just wanting someone to talk you into getting another unit.
  23. In October of 1886 the Statue of Liberty was opened for the public to visit for the first time. President Cleveland did the honors. There were thousands of people from all over the world attending and of course buying memorabilia to take home. Including the charm that you found, they had several designs of the charm, however the one you have was the most requested. They were made on the spot by using a press and a die with the picture that you wanted on it. Some of them had a date under the flag which are more rare. Great find and a long journey for that item. Good luck on your next hunt!
