  1. Great job on your hunt and taking care of your son at the same time. Good luck on your next hunt.
  2. And so it has come full circle now. We get our updates over the internet and sometimes we wish we hadn't. Most of the updates are great while some we could do without until they fix their problems with the software.
  3. Great find and one of these days maybe I will find one of those rings.
  4. Beautiful finds and glad you had a great day hunting! Wish I could get back out there, my neck and shoulder has kept me from doing anything. Good luck on your next hunt and thanks for sharing the photos!
  5. Thanks Steve as I was going to post the same links, but you beat me to it.

  10. Cowkiller, there is a thread that has been posted before with some really good advice, here is the link below.
  11. Glad to see you on here Mike, and please post some pictures of the finds from the beach. I think we all enjoy seeing and hearing about the finds from the hunts people do. Good Luck!
  12. JRH, Welcome to the forum as you will find all the answers to any of your questions that you may have. These are the nicest people around and they don't mind helping people. Please post some pictures of the finds you uncover to share the fun with all of us.
  13. Really great finds and am glad that you had fun. Stay safe and happy hunting on your next trip!
  14. The button is made by American Makers in 1846, and was used on coats with matching shoes. They were discontinued 2 years later and were made from a low grade brass. Hope this helps. Should you find 4 or 5 more of them they would be worth around $250.00.
  15. Welcome aboard David and I hope to see some of your posts. When you add pictures it really gets everyone's attention.
  16. Welcome Optix, you have come to the right place for the best advice for all things detector. Many people here are willing to help you for advice and all you have to do is ask. Steve H. has most of the answers and many others will be able to help with everything else.
  17. Welcome Caretaker glad you are with us. We look forward to your posts and knowledge and we will share ours with you. My wife is from Kennebunk, Maine and it is quite beautiful along the coast.
  18. The only way that I have found a diamond from a ring was when I had used a laser and the light refracted through it like a prism. I had done it right at dusk before any dew had fallen on it and it was able to be found after about 30 minutes of looking. Just a thought that you might try.
  19. Great looking V that you found, however I have to totally agree with Chase on this one as I have never found one of those yet!
  20. Thanks for the additional information, that puts it into the clothing category. They may have used a similar button to the shoes, but I doubt it. I will continue to research it a little further for the correct item. The time period is correct for that style button.
  21. Welcome aboard and you have found the right place to be at. The people here can answer all your questions as many people have found. I use a Garrett pin pointer also and it serves me well.
  22. I forgot to ask, is it between 10 and 14 MM? That is a sure giveaway for a shoe button.
