  1. Great hunt, beautiful finds, and great skills that you have with your detector. Good luck on your next trip out.
  2. Prayers to all who are affected, and hope that everything turns out well for all.
  3. Fantastic hunts and great detecting on your part. The 21K ring looks to be more rare than you think, I have only seen a few which is close to that one. I know it is hand made and a very high end piece that you found. It may be worth more than scrap prices. Good hunting and good luck on your next trip.
  4. Very nice ring, it looks like almost a full carat of diamonds on it. Those might be as much as the gold if sold the right way. Great hunting and good luck on your next hunt!
  5. Fantastic hunt just wish I had a beach near me. Good luck on your next hunting trip.
  6. Great finds and the merc look great shape. Good luck on your next hunt.
  7. The Minelab Equinox 800 is a really great unit, and they are still in business. Whites has closed down but there are still some great units out there. The only problem with a Whites is going to be service if it breaks. Good luck and good hunting.
  8. Welcome lemarquez and it is great to have you here with your experience and knowledge. Please show us some of those great finds that I know you have from that area, it would be great to see some of those items.
  9. I think that you forgot the dry ice on the floorboard with the vents open. I had an old Chevy pickup with no A/C and tried that trick, and it worked pretty good for about 8 hours. Just keep it in a cooler and let the air travel over the top of it. I also find that 465 works great to, not the 480 so much.
  10. Great find and I am still looking for my first ring as it is on my bucket list to find one. Good idea not to say what it is on the ring so that the true owner can identify it properly. Good hunting and good luck on your next hunt.
  11. I just checked with UPS and they only have 3 day delivery and I think that this 68 degree weather I am having tonight just won't stay this cool by the time it arrives. So I think you are on your own, but if you want to make a trade on some weather I think we can do that if you take some of this rain we are having for some of your dry spell.
  12. Thanks for the video and some good information. I will have to try it sometime when I am able to get out.
  13. Nice finds and great hunting, who needs video when you come up with these finds. That gold ring looks to be around 1950-1970 era, how much did it weigh. Good hunting on your next trip!
  14. Honey Dew was a wine type drink made from elderberries back in the late 1800's. Great hunting and good luck on your next hunt.
  15. The ring in the bottom right corner looks to have a diamond and ruby in it, are they set in gold or silver? Wish I could have a fantastic hunt like that! Good luck on your next hunt and keep posting your finds they are great!
  16. Sorry if I offended you and I did not know that he showed you where he lost it and what it was as you never said that. Don't worry about any more comments from me.
  17. Glad you were able to help the person out, but after you found something you should have asked "What did you lose". Good luck on your future hunts.
  18. Very, very nice finds and I am glad that you took the time to share with us. Good luck on your next hunt.
  19. Great find, and keep up the good hunt. Good luck on your next hunt.
  20. Steve this has been a great thread reading everything here. I can't add anything else that hasn't been said except that here in the states we have several types of soil that can be located in each and every state except for Alaska. We have our clay's that contain several types of minerals to the areas that are they are found in. The south east US has a different type of clay than the central US and so forth. Some areas a person can't find any clay until they dig down deeper than 20 inches like here in central Illinois. We have mineral rich Arkansas that even has diamonds and other precious minerals that will make detectors go bonkers. Here in the US each region is special and that is why not only is getting good clear signals required from a detector but also some depth is great. For the most part I have only found only one item that has been 12 inches deep, so for me to dig something like that very often would not make much difference to me. Yes it was only gold plated but it was a learning experience for me. Sorry for the rant, but I am having trouble thinking straight today.
  21. Thank you for the information on the update, as I will now be doing it this week. I don't know when or if I will be able to use it, but it will on on the 800. Thank you for your time and giving us this much needed information. Happy hunting
  22. Thank you for the update news. I will getting the update this week.
  23. The ridges at the top of your buckets cut out about 4-6 inches between the ridges and add 1/4 inch hardware cloth over it. I use pop rivets and washers to keep it in place. Then when you fill the bucket with material and set it down in the water you can turn clockwise and counter clockwise until everything has run through it. I remove each layer and check for large nuggets on down to flour gold. The ridges are about 1 1/2 inches apart from each other and stick out about 1/2 inch from the bucket.
  24. I am so sorry to hear that as you will never get any better. Try a couple of good jars of moonshine to forget your problems and if that don't help just shoot the psychiatrist.
  25. Definitely a lot less since he has gotten to know you today. It has not been the cost of living increase but the just how crazy is this guy increase. But remember you get what you pay for, it was the same back then and still holds today. Just kidding with you I think, I will let the others decide for me.
