That's what I had before, I could hunt for 5 hours and be toasty in low 30F waters.. temps could be in the teens and wind chill lower. I still have the "Muck Artic Pro" boots which are good down to Neg 50...., I was thinking lead weights on the ankles and a life jacket. But both would have to work in perfect harmony. Just enough lead to keep my feet down and enough floatation to keep my head above water, and not sink...

I see my hunting coming to a stop soon. Obligations are slowly growing, This will give me time to play with my equipment. Always next year.

Good Luck on the gold, Once you find the right spot I know it's going to happen for you!!

    Hi Joe!

I know you love you Excals and have a very success with it,just wonder if you have have the ctx3030 or what do you think about the ctx in the water(Beside waterproof comparison which excal is better i know) can it hit gold rings in the water as good as Excal?

A GPX 6000 and Equinox 800 pretty much covers all my detecting needs, including dry beach detecting with a PI. I still do have a craving for a proper waterproof PI, and I’m not expecting Minelab to do it. I really want a properly made Impulse AQ, but I’m in skeptic mode now, so anything they make is going to have to prove out with others, before I get back on that horse. I like the ATX circuit a lot, but hate the weight. TDI Beachhunter is I guess the machine I’d buy now, but I’d rather have that properly made Impulse. So I guess I’ll just hold out for now looking for something better to come along. I just don’t need a beach PI badly enough to settle for anything less than what I really want. The 6000 will just have to do for now, even if it limits me to wading depths. So I guess I do have a Minelab made beach PI.

Just wonder why you think minelab is not going to built a beach PI machine?whats the reasonThanks

  3. I have used my 3030 with 17 coil in the salt water many times and got not a signal, came back with my sea hunter and killed it.The ocean opened up! I know PI goes deeper in salt water but i had the 17 inch coil and thought it is as deep as the sea hunter, but what a difference. The sea hunter is a deep machine but underrated unfortunately, the reason can be many but the sucker goes deep with the big coil.

I'm no more informed than you, I'm on vacation but I saw it on facebook

Peut être une image de texte qui dit ’You are invited to meet Russ Balbirona Fisher Metal Detector Representative Help us celebrate FISHER DAYS Saturday July 17 2021 10:30am to 3:30pm Come see the Fisher Line of Metal Detectors and the new Fisher Impulse AQ FISHER RESEARCH LABS The latest technology from the oldest name in the industry. Door Prizes Refreshments MYERS METAL DETECTORS TAMPA FLORIDA 813-237-1939 5601 N. Florida Ave.’

Thanks for the info!! It feels very odd that the Fisher don't do a big announcement worldwide if they want to release the machine.I'm not sure if i can contact my detector dealer here in sweden at this time and ask him about the AQ,he probably doesn't have any information i guess.STRANGE!!!

I suppose Garrett could make the TDI Beachhunter again, but with the ATX I doubt it will happen. The various TDI models are probably history now, fodder for the modification market for years to come. Anyone interested in what might have happened if TDI development continued should follow the Fisher Impulse AQ development, as the AQ is basically a highly tuned and refined TDI.

Unfortunately the future of the AQ is very uncertain, the most strange metal detector path i have ever seen from the begining untill now,and nobody knows still whats going to happen.

My gut feeling is that they have scrapped the idea. If anything was in the works, they would be letting the public know about it. I think the rumors of its iron ID capability were mostly hype. It may have excellent depth in all metal but it's not worth $2000. Those who got the Limited got a good deal and an opportunity to try new technology.

Hope you are wrong man!! I watched a live stream kellyco video recently on facebook. They tested the machine not on the beach but on the pasture i think, then i got some hope this machine may find the way out to the market.Nothing more than that since then and i'm not so sure right now as well about releasing and as you said they may scrap the whole thin.Hope some people which has some info come now and give us some update!

The Limited was a “one time good deal”. The selling price was the absolute minimum to encourage experienced beach hunters to try it and thereby gather the maximum feedback on its performance and utility in the hands of folks who had the dedication and experience to provide the usage and feedback desired.

The price of the “Unlimited” version has to cover the millions in research and development costs, the bill of materials and return a profit.

The price is not out of line for comparable machines such as the CTX and Minelab’s gold nugget detectors.

I don't understand one thing....if the person(Russ) from Fisher comes to a talk show and represent the company, why is he coming out either with wrong information about the price or if the price he mentioned(2800-3500$)is right, why everybody denies what he said? In this way you confuse us as a potential AQ buyers,WHY????whats going on???

  8. Man,,some disappointment,,,The Price is way high,i hope as Joe said Russ gave us wrong information about that.I was at that live show and wrote some questions but nobody answered them, one question was about the battery, are they going to implement Joe's battery system with many hours of hunt? when he mentioned they have modified the mechanical parts of the AQ i think he means those cables sticking out of the backside(maybe)I have seen a picture showing Joe testing final version that they have moved the headphone connection to the backside of the control box(display),so now there s two connections on the backside of the control box as some other detectors. For me the main issue is the price,so many years waiting.....
