  1. Welcome Gary, Sounds like your near my "recently moved to" neck of the woods!! I'm in Melbourne! Glad you found the forum! And hope to see you around, after I get some of my new "honey do" list completed! πŸ‘πŸ‘
  2. Welcome to the forum John, So sorry for the loss of your wife!!πŸ˜žπŸ™ And the Covid!! But very happy you found us here! How long have you been swinging a coil, and what detector did you find that lucky Rosie with? Hope the detecting luck deals you a Royal Flush this year!πŸ‘πŸ‘
  3. I would love to see them pick up where Tesoro left off! That segment, to me, is often overlooked as too simplistic to continue building! But there is still a healthy market for old Tesoro's!πŸ‘πŸ‘
  4. Simon, Sorry to hear that you have a hole and trash leaver; damn Yanks!🀣 Seriously though, the "treasure" shows are probably partly to blame for them, and others taking advantage in the low end market! I figure this will work itself out in the long run! but in the meantime, it's making them money! At least your ground assassin's are few and far between!πŸ‘πŸ‘
  5. Great job Joe, Considering all that transpired last year! Here's wishing you a banner, and safe 2022!πŸ‘πŸ‘
  6. Nokta Detectors, Phrunt means well (as do many others), and is defending your decision to naysayers, I'm sure! Everyone does with what information they have to work with at the time, so some assumptions will have room to be made when all the facts aren't presented in a complete format, as you have now given us! Thanks for the summation, and we will all try and be more cognizant of what we all say!πŸ˜πŸ‘πŸ‘
  7. Welcome Riccardo, Beautiful and historic country you have there! We have several detectorists from Italy on the forum! Glad you chimed in finally! What are you currently swinging now, and show us some finds! Good luck out there!πŸ€πŸ‘πŸ‘
  8. Personally, I don't mind the delay, if in NM's opinion, (and bank account) they are adding value! I like the format they have used so far; actually listening to their customer base! What a novel idea!! I, like many, don't do "bookface" as it's just too much! Fine for the wife though, to keep up with distant family! I've never been one to jump on the new detector release bandwagon anyway! There are always people better suited for the next "cutting edge" model, that have that covered! Many of which, who make a nice bit of coin doing so! To each their own!!πŸ‘πŸ‘
  9. Cool story! Alot cheaper to feed and house than a dog! And most likely too light to trigger a mine! Smart!!πŸ‘πŸ‘
  10. Hello BH, Welcome to the forum! Your friend sent you to the right place for prospecting info! Hope you find what your looking for!!πŸ‘πŸ‘
  11. Yep, you and Kac have made me a believer, and upped the prices!!πŸ˜πŸ‘πŸ‘
  12. Interesting topic! Thanks all for posting! And Dog, great info about differing composition on IH's; make's sense! I never would have considered that, especially since there are few to be found down here!πŸ‘πŸ‘
  13. Great way to start the year dog! Glad to see you went back to continue hunting that spot! Hopefully there are more goodies nearby!πŸ‘πŸ‘
  14. Not a dumb question c47, and it has been asked before! I actually bought one out of the Ukraine, from Ebay a few years back, that was made of silicone! But it disappeared rather quickly, and i never saw them listed again! One piece went over the battery compartment in the handle, and the other fit over the pod! The only problem was you were unable to see the screen through it, and heat buildup was also a possible side effect! Much better to just have a detector designed to actually withstand water ingress, rather than trying to use a bandaid fix on one whose claim is on shakey ground, but otherwise a darn good detector!!πŸ‘πŸ‘
  15. Your nothing if not persistent Chuck!πŸ‘πŸ‘
  16. Cool Indians! Especially the oddball ones! You have some nice spots to hunt! I'm jealous!!πŸ‘πŸ‘
  17. Welcome Billy, Glad you found us, and cudos for getting your grandson involved in detecting! Looking forward to some pics and stories!πŸ‘πŸ‘
  18. Also gotta remember the size of the two companies! The MDT is still sorta a boutique detector, so coil production (size change) has to wait for funding, etc..! Where as XP is huge, and well funded!πŸ‘πŸ‘
  19. Having owned two 800's, I personally wouldn't use it for submersion hunting, other than below the control pod, for any length of time! My first one failed (Pod), and was replaced under warranty! Also broken coil tabs on three coils, also replaced under warranty! JMO As was said previously, if you are in no hurry, either watch what the Deus 2 (5 year warranty), an NM Legend (3 year warranty), can do, or fails to do well! (big price difference also)! There's also the Tarsacci detector, which many like! Or just buy another dedicated water detector with a proven record! Good luck, with whatever you decide!!πŸ€πŸ‘πŸ‘
  20. Welcome Brian, Glad to have you here! Looking forward to some cool finds!πŸ‘πŸ‘
  21. Welcome Hombre, Great place to land and learn! Take your time and enjoy the view! Good hunting!πŸ€πŸ‘πŸ‘
  22. Hello Tony, and welcome! Happy to have your experience here on the forum!! Good luck, and good hunting!πŸ‘πŸ‘
  23. Welcome GunShip! And Thank You for Your Service!!πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡²πŸ”± That is one of my favorite military aircraft, along with the A10 Warthog, and a few others! Happy to have you onboard the forum! Glad GB could hook you up with some clubs! Sad that your area is not fond of detectorists! Unfortunately Florida, and many other states have some similar issues! But we do the best we can! Hope to see some nice finds you've made, and make!!πŸ€πŸ‘πŸ‘
  24. Hello Zord and welcome! Glad to see another detectorist from Poland! We've had a few the last several months! Lots of great history their! Good luck!πŸ€πŸ‘πŸ‘
  25. I got a cure for all your all's winter woes, and expensive equipment! A winter home down my way, or a permanent move! 75 today! πŸ–πŸ˜πŸ‘πŸ‘
