Diggin' The Campground (update)
Joe D. replied to F350Platinum's topic in Metal Detecting For Coins & Relics
Not a bad trash to coin ratio at all!! And you killed the quarters! Any yeah, it's too bad, that they are our largest "common" denomination coin! It would definitely be a game changer if those were dollar or two dollar coins! I'm actually surprised not to see just a few in the count! But it all adds up eventually! That's also one thing I miss about coin parking meters; no more resupply of many lost coins!!π The nickel/pop tab count was a little on the lean side also! But as I recall, that was somewhat intentional on your part! And I guess few lost rings so far! Thanks for keeping track, and postingπ, that is a mess of digging! How many of those were in "coin spills"?? And did you get the "detector legs" from those three days?? I would be walking like Frankenstein from the pain of those finds!!π€£ππ -
Fresh Drop Hunting..3 Gold Rings
Joe D. replied to Joe Beechnut OBN's topic in Minelab Metal Detectors
Well, had this Joe D. been there, I would have been the second to congratulate you!! I love seeing how others do in the "same" spots! When there willing to show me! It's all well earned!!ππ I have no "secret spots" or places I consider "mine" alone!! But I know some beach areas that can be sorta "clicky" with the locals! I guess that's everywhere! I would hope at some point, once they see you a few times, and what you find, that maybe they should become more friendly, and learn something new! No one gets it all!!ππ -
10 Things I Like And 5 Things Don't Like About The Garrett Apex
Joe D. replied to abenson's topic in Garrett Metal Detectors
It's like many have said previously about the first run of any detector, or related equipment! Until it's been out in mass for awhile to work out the inevitable bugs, it's not truly tested! ππ -
While wirelessly, I have been using the Supplied ML headphones some, during past cooler months! I prefer to use the WM08 with wired headphones! I have since bought several variations of wired and wireless headphones to cover several detectors, and stay cooler! Including the Soundblaster Jam V2 wireless, a Tony E. set for water, and beach noise, waterproof wired earbuds, deus, and Garrett wired lightweight headphones that can be worn behind the head, so I can where a full size boonie hat for sun protection, and situational awareness! Of course, there is a tradeoff with lighter headphones vs noise reduction! And obviously, depending on what "risks" are around, and the heat index; these are the primary dictators of what I wear! Like soil conditions, and detector selection, everyone's needs are different!!ππ

I just found another one ; wild pigs or boars! I know Texas has some issues with them, and I just watched a video of Rome being overrun in the streets there; Weird!!

Diggin' The Campground (update)
Joe D. replied to F350Platinum's topic in Metal Detecting For Coins & Relics
Great job, as usual F350!! Your definitely getting in your exercise on these camping trips! I expect your jewelry finds will increase, with luck! In the meantime, it's paying for itself rapidly, if it's not there already!!ππ -
Well than, Us Florida beach dwellers have all sorts of stinging and biting creatures! But inland, many of the same types above! When I'm in Georgia, yellowjackets seem particularly fond of me!!π¬π

Yep, sorta like toilet paper, you take it for granted as always being available, till it's gone!!π©π€£ Try looking for a Whites "Big Foot" coil!!$$$$ By the way, i have one for the "right" price!.....πππ

π€£π I'm no expert at anything! But I'm pretty confident that the "Gerry mold" was broken, crushed, powdered, and scattered into a black hole!!π€£ I don't even think cloning him would be close to the same!! And that is just what little experience I have had with him directly!! I still have a brain fart, every time I try and say his name correctly! π€£ππ

A Tenderfootβs Tale - Part 2
Joe D. replied to Old Line Paul's topic in Metal Detecting For Coins & Relics
Thanks for taking us along Paul! It will be fun watching, and reading your progress! Your not a bad storyteller either!!π Many of us are not that far removed from where you are at this stage! So it's enjoyable to watch!! In fact, my targets and conditions are similar to what you have been describing, at several places! But you also have access to much older targets where you are, (Marylandπ) and those will appear, as your experience, and equipment evolve! Since you have been following the forum for awhile, I'm sure that you have noticed or felt, that it is easy to get caught up in "The Best" equipment! But it's only the best , if you can use it efficiently, and to best advantage! That can be a minefield, for many reasons, and is highly subjective! Steve; and others, have given very sage advice on this subject! Depending on what and where you hunt, one or two detectors will most likely cover 98% of what conditions, and items you hunt! Generally, more than that, are either backups, and have overlapping features, or have a very specific purpose in their use!!! So take your time if/when upgrading, and enjoy the hobby!! But most of all, Have fun!, Be safe!, and Good Luck!!!πππ -

There's a few people on the forums that are driving up the Tesoro prices, by continuing to find silver and such with them! Gee, I wonder who they are???π€π€£ππ

Now Caleb, you know what FBI really stands for these days! Use your imagination!! Can't say anymore than that; at least not here on the forum!! But your always welcome to call or email me, for my honest opinion!!π€£π And believe it or not, there are actually still a few unused, new Whites Detectors out there!! I actually got one last year from Gerry directly, and still have it!! An MXT All Pro!! Also, some people just "collect" those new older detectors, but never take them out of the box!! And they sometimes will pop up unexpectedly for sale! ππ
-
Also, began modding my ML coil bolts, which I think are part of the problem, in my opinion! I filled them with silicone, and set in a nylon washer in each, just above the rim of the bolt! If I need to, I can further modify the bolt edges with a more rounded profile, with a file or dremel! Now I can use "as is", or add a thin, soft washer to the bolts, without it collapsing into the hollow bolts interior!ππ

Nice finds again Kac! The rings are popping up nicely for you!!ππ

Gore vent intro! The little white spot on the battery door! If a permanent seal is added that defeats the Gore vent, than not only would that probably void the warranty, but also, some other spot on the Pod would most likely fail due to pressure inequalities! Also, if the Gore vent is loose, or compromised, water will take the easiest route to enter! ππ
