A Couple Of Hours At The Farmhouse
Joe D. replied to F350Platinum's topic in Metal Detecting For Coins & Relics
Farmland in general is subject to a lot of chemicals and fertilizers that will speed up decomposition of metals; among other organics! Not to mention the constant soil disturbances from tilling, which exposes metals to more oxidation from oxygen, acids in rain, and a host of other elements!👍👍 -
Results Are In For Codan Fy21 Investor Report
Joe D. replied to phrunt's topic in Minelab Metal Detectors
Sounds like an aftermarket opportunity for an enterprising "young" person to create in their shop!🤔🤣👍👍 -
Great choice Pinger, And congrats on the new detector! As you saw in my post yesterday, I don't necessarily like to give a cookie cutter "one" choice to anyone seeking advice on a new detector ! There are many fine units to be had, and it can be highly individualized, based on the intended uses! That's why we ask questions of you! The good thing is, if you feel you don't mesh with the Nox, you won't loose much selling it! That being said, take the time to learn it, and you will be rewarded! Like anything else, there is a learning curve, and nothing worthwhile is always easy! Most of all, be safe, legal, enjoy, and have fun! And don't forget to share you finds and stories with us!!🍀👍👍

Back From Alaska, A Different Version
Joe D. replied to Reno Chris's topic in Detector Prospector Forum
I learned the same with hunting over the years HP! Last few years of "winter hunting" have been in near summer gear!🤣👍👍 -
Welcome, D4G, North or South Island? Look on the forum for Phrunt (Simon), he is there with you, among some others! He also gold hunts, and finds many silver coins in virgin detecting grounds! He's a great source of information for multiple detectors he uses there! Sorry for the lockdown, but beyond that, you all are blessed in many ways over there! We are very jealous, but happy for you being in such an extraordinary beautiful country! Stay safe, and find Simon, and us here, for any questions you may have! 👍👍

. Welcome to the forum Pinger, glad to have you! There are several detectors on the market that would fit the bill for park, beach, and even shallow water detecting! Waterproof my be an option for you, but can up the price! My suggestions are as follows: Non-Waterproof Multifrequency $$ MineLab- Vanquish 540 Garrett- Apex Waterproof Multifrequency $$+ MineLab Equinox- 600 or 800 Nokia Makro- Anfibio and Multi-Kruzer There are others that are single frequency that will work just fine too! One example is the Simplex+ by Nokta/Makro! It's Waterproof, and relatively inexpensive$, as compared to those above! But may give you less adjustability for various conditions! You can look at "Steve's Detector Reviews" on the forum, (His forum BTW) and also research the numerous posts on most all detector brands and categories by us members! Take the time to fine-tune exactly what you want! Then have fun! Good Luck!!🍀👍👍

Someone Bought The Tesoro Parts Inventory
Joe D. replied to kac's topic in Compass, D-Tex, Tesoro, Etc.
Nice work Kac, I'm sure many will benefit from the information! 👍👍 -
That's the way I like my info Steve, exact and to the point, no sugar coating how you got there; and the mistakes are part of the learning curve! Just what works, and how you get it done! Thanks!! I would like to think that my learning curve on all things detecting, and hopefully prospecting one day, will be less steep, thanks to all here! But sometimes, i can be a hard-headed idiot!!😤 🤣👍👍

Caleb, You will be amazed at what you will either like, or adapt too, if or when you have kids!! They change your life!!; mostly for the good!🤬🤯 🤣👍👍

My daughter lol'ed "me" in the video!! That's about all you can expect from them, in their teens and twenty's these days, when they are no longer under your roof!!! I'll take it!!😁👍👍

I heard once, long ago, that if you take it to a volcano, and toss it in, it will break the curse! But you must gather a fellowship of detectorists to make the perilous journey!!🤣👍👍

It's very sad the way they corrode away! I actually appreciate how nice some of the older pennies come right out of the ground! Sign of the times I guess! Probably the last few years of "circulation coin making" in the US, and probably elsewhere i suspect! Digital currency is boring, and dangerous! Progress?? We shall see! "Chipping" everyone with cellphones is scary enough already! It can get worse! Watch the movie "Kingsmen" for a "preview" of what can happen! A cautionary tale, like "Jurassic Parks" cloning fiasco, or "Terminators" AI take over!! No longer SyFy or fantasy stuff!! The technology is already here!! If Covid didn't convince you of what's possible, nothing will!! JMO 😬🤯👍👍 Yes, i went a little out there , and off subject for some, but still true! Good stuff to be aware of, in this rapidly changing world!!

Nice finds, and video CC, Great little spot you got there!👍👍 -
I guess none of the family has access to your collection! Several, or more of those would have never made it there, if my wife and daughter had there way!!💕 And that Evil one in the top left corner, needs a wooden stake driven through the center, or an exersisum! Yikes!😈😬 Great job!! Keep at it!👍👍
-
I've been doing it all wrong i guess! I thought that every time you find a good coin, you plant a corroded zincoln, to grow another good coin in its place! Sorta like a Johnny Zincolnseed!! Just trying to do my part for the environment! My bad!!😜🤣👍👍

New Permission - Old Farmhouse
Joe D. replied to F350Platinum's topic in Metal Detecting For Coins & Relics
Maybe a worker, or homeless coin spill! Not that they could afford to loose it, but it often happens! Just a side note, I lost my silver wedding ring detecting earlier in the year! As near as I can figure, it's (was) on one of my beaches somewhere! But no worries, I've moved on to silicone, so none of you out there will profit from me again!!😂🤣👍👍 -
Cool site, I think it will continue to produce for a long time! Glad you caught a little cooler detecting time!!👍👍

Welcome back Steve, I hope you are refreshed, and cleared your head a bit!! I won't lie, many of us had to break down and expand our forum selection, to stay in contact, while yours was down!! No disrespect to you, or Chase!! "But there is no place like home"!!!. And we are all glad your back!! Please find Chase for us too!! I don't like not seeing him around! Or is this like a "Where's Waldo" game he's playing on the forum!!🤣👍👍 And just a suggestion, if you increase our "like" quota for at least a few days, we can all get caught up!!😁 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍

Hello Scott, Glad you found your way here! Any questions, ask away! And as F350 said, tell us what and where your swinging!👍👍

I think he is still out slogging Alaska outback, probably came in town for supplies, and saw the forum was 10-7! At least we didn't have to wait a couple more weeks for him to get back to Reno!! Anyhow, I missed you all, and the forum's format alot!!😪👍👍
