  1. And that's why I'm using Whites and Tesoro's at the beach! Still affordable and functional! Try and tell schoolofhardNox not to use a PI at the beach; he's a beast; and hugely successful in getting past the iron (cuz he digs it all out of the way intentionallyπŸ˜†), to get to the good stuff! GPX 5000πŸ€”, I'm not worthy yet!!🀣 My location is somewhat unique; (The Treasure Coast) as I'm not only looking for gold with my PI, but also most other metals! And while my Nox; and others, have their place here! I need the most affordable, deepest machines for the black sand and salt, that are available, when hunting for artifacts, especially after a big storm! That's my modded Tdi SL, and Tesoro Sandshark currently! (Jmo) Steve was just pointing out an observation, and in his defense, it's all in the title of this post! It appears to me that HP knows what he is looking for, and though limited; as has been pointed out, will find a suitable replacement! No one is looking to slight or insult anyone here; especially Steve! And it can happen easily sometimes as we are only reading text, and not hearing or seeing the other person's actual meaning! He's "corrected?" me on occasion, and i don't take it personally! After all, it's his forum, and it's still only metal detecting!!πŸ€πŸ‘πŸ‘
  2. Welcome to the forum Stephant, The IP rating of the 700 is IP68! This is one "definition" written for that rating! So this is a guideline to be aware of, when/if you get in the water!πŸ€πŸ‘πŸ‘
  3. I think there is still plenty of room for a waterproof PI in the marketplace, as Steve pointed out with the lack therein of! As someone who has both waterproof and non, I can tell you that I am much more relaxed using the waterproof versions at the tide line, and shallow surf! Especially when the surf is big, as that is when and where many of the items found are being dragged to, or churned up! I've been caught off guard with a rouge wave on more than one occasion, or stepped in a bowl, or off a shelf, with some depth! So many of the niches have been filled in other parts of the market; and diminishing finds, that any company without at least one saltwater worthy beast, should consider adding one to their lineup! There are large numbers of beach/surf hunters out there to support such a move! Jmo! Good luck πŸ€ in the replacement hunt for your Sand Shark! But don't trash it, as the parts are still worth some cash!πŸ‘πŸ‘
  4. I know of one or two on the forum that may have a Seahunter for sale, or possibly a Sand Shark!πŸ‘πŸ‘
  5. I beg to differ, a gold coin will trump any silver you've found so far! (Jmo) And they hold up better in anyone's soil conditions! Next year, I predict you will find one!πŸ₯‡πŸ˜‰πŸ€πŸ‘πŸ‘
  6. Just ran out of likes Bob, so gotta congratulate you more formally on the grand slam "triple"! I've been saying all along that you have more great stuff near your house to find yet! Still think there is more silver, and something gold waiting in the wings! And yeah, still think you got a few more hunts left in you before New Years! Awsome Christmas finds!!πŸŽ‰πŸ€πŸ‘πŸ‘
  7. So, may be a bit off subject, but I haven't really seen (may have missed) any real reviews on the Axiom at the beach for gold! Steve, Garry, or anyone done any real hunting with it at the salt beaches? Don't like to watch "reviews"πŸ™„ on YouTube! Rather hear from some trusted sources! Currently using my TDI SL with Miner Johns coil for beach duty! And my temperamental Nox 800!πŸ‘πŸ‘
  8. Nice work anyway HN, I feel your beach anguish down here on the Treasure Coast! Almost same conditions and results on the beaches, minus any coins🀯! Four beaches this week (two today)! Lots of big waves, little erosion, and very few targets; even trash was almost nill! And all hunts with the PI (TDI SL)! Sad, as I haven't experienced it so bare of targets since I moved up here two years ago! Only relative bright side was an older ball field inland that produced some 60's-70's coins and a small 10k, and tiny diamonds? ring! Very little sand movement considering all the "weather" we've had! Love the right facing eagle on the button, I hope it cleans up well, and the site has more to come!!πŸ€πŸ‘πŸ‘ BTW, forgot to add that I noticed the artistic flare creeping back into your trash displays!πŸ€” And 2023 ain't over yet, maybe time to squeeze in another hunt or three!!πŸŒ²πŸŽ…πŸ‘πŸ‘
  9. Good luck on getting it figured out Elbows!πŸ€πŸ€ž And BTW, welcome to the forum! Lots of help here with the D2, and just about every other detector made! Keep us in the loop, when you solve the problem! Inquiring minds want to know!πŸ‘πŸ‘
  10. Happy to see some posts here again (and out of likes today), as I have heard they are very good machines for what they do! Any new info, comparisons, or thoughts, or similar machine's (RutusπŸ€”) would be welcome! I have a Tejon, and a few other Tesoro's, so I'm still an afiscondo of that type of nuanced audio! Unfortunately most of the manufacturers have left them in the dust for multi's, as that's where the profits have gone! Understandable!πŸ‘πŸ‘ BTW, that Tejon and coils set is still up for grabs in the classifieds! Unfortunate, and a sign of the times that it's not been snapped up!! But good luck to bklein!πŸ€πŸ‘πŸ‘
  11. Definitely a good start! But yeah, lots of work to go yet, and hopefully leading into some new detectors, and accessories!πŸ‘πŸ‘
  12. Looks like your on a roll in more ways than one! 100 day's won is on the horizon!πŸŽ‰ I'm starting the rumor that Steve gives out a gold coin (Or nugget) for every 100 days you win!!πŸ˜œπŸ€πŸ‘πŸ‘
  13. Everyone has covered the "speculation" thoroughly, especially Steve and Simon, Thanks all, good read!πŸ‘ Personally, if all things were equal among all the major players, I would still buy another brand, over Minelab at this point! Keeping in mind, i'm not a prospector here on Florida's Treasure Coast; primarily a beach hunter! (Used 5000??πŸ€”)! Their quality control, and management "style" has left a bad taste! And there are other's that are working much harder to earn our business! So, I'm content to let my units (800 and 540) fade into the parts bin! The 800 is almost there, as the power button has failed prematurely (won't shut off), and I really don't want to throw anymore money at a third replacement, even at the Pod replacement rate!😡 As for their Military discount, nice, but it's half hearted if it's not for all military vets throughout all the countries being sold! And it's gonna be negated buy price hikes!πŸ€πŸ‘πŸ‘
  14. I'd say that today met most of the criteria for a great hunt, and definitely a beautiful day! Congrats on a nice merc and large cent!! That piece looks like part of a utensil possibly? Need something for scale with it!!πŸŽ‰πŸ€πŸ‘πŸ‘
  15. That's a "gotcha" story for sure!! Thanks for the laugh Caleb!🀣 Except for the damaged sub!!πŸ˜΅πŸ€ Hope you have time to really get some detecting in, on your off time between seasons!πŸ€πŸ‘πŸ‘
  16. That "Rope of Rings", and all your myriad of finds, I'm sure, are amazing; and a huge amount of detecting! I don't think I've dug that many pull tabs, since I moved to the "Treasure" coast!πŸ˜† It doesn't account for much, but I do have the privilege of walking over 300+ year old Spanish Treasure on a few of our beaches here!!πŸ˜‚ we just can't get too any of it, except on rare occasions! Now if i could bring a dozer with me....πŸ€πŸ‘πŸ‘
  17. Love the launch and the finds!πŸ‘ I'm around the area you were describing in Florida! Although Cocoa Beach Pier isn't nearly as festive as yours, I do get to see some nice launches from just South of Cape Canaveral on a regular basis! Only wish I was up here when the Shuttle was active, as those were a sight to behold!! Good luck at your beaches in the future!πŸ€πŸ‘πŸ‘
  18. DSmith, Sorry to hear both your health, and software issues! Hope you feel better!!πŸ™πŸ€ Hopefully Nokta can verify your strange appearing software! They would know!! Sounds very suspicious to me, sorta like the messages we get on our phones that are obviously spam and scams! Plenty of hackers that have the skills to do stuff like that! Glad to hear the Legend(s) are doing well otherwise, and if you have posted about how it compares to the two "top dogs" right now, other than cost, I missed it, and would be interested in reading! I had pre-ordered one, before release, but reeled myself in at the last minute, when there was a delay!!πŸ€πŸ‘πŸ‘
  19. Thanks for the indepth's, Jeff and Simon!πŸ‘ I was leaning more toward environmental factors/fewer good targets, as being alot of the issues, at least in the US! One of the reasons I keep my old detectors around, as some seem less prone to many of these issues! Sorta reminds me of the transition from vinyl, to tapes, to CD's, to digital music; some specific problems just don't get better with technology (and loose something in translation), no matter how good it is! Or I'm just being a nostalgic "old" fool! Either way, it's still just a hobby i enjoy, and i won't loose an sleep over it!πŸ€πŸ‘πŸ‘
  20. Yep, send it back! They will just replace the pod! Just call and get an RA# first! Been through two 800 pods, and 2 11" in coils! 😡 Sad flawed design, and all to common!πŸ€πŸ‘πŸ‘
  21. Just to clarify, I was laughing at the wife part!! The "gouging" silver part is sad indeed!!😡/πŸ€πŸ‘πŸ‘
  22. Good read Steve; Thanks! And also Thanks Chuck!πŸ‘ Another detector once owned and tested by Sven! Glad he's still around, and I still have one of the PI detectors he built, that i bought from him; actually my first PI!πŸ€πŸ‘πŸ‘
  23. Another great round of camping/detecting fun! I just figured that many of the shallow good targets, you probably nabbed last year! And this year, you are more proficient with the D2, and your programs! Alot to be said about being in tune with what your swinging! But, as I recall, you weren't a slouch with the 600 either, albeit maybe a bit less accurate in target ID's, which is on the 600! Great job!!πŸ€πŸ‘πŸ‘
  24. Dave, couldn't laugh, and give you a thumbs up to boot, so here you go!! Steve doesn't limit these!!πŸ€πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘
  25. Your definitely a shining example for endurance, and patience! That's alot of hours invested; again! Also, to me, proves you gotta dig the trash, to find the good stuff; as in clearing the way to the masked finds areas! Obviously, most are not willing to, or can't do that! Seems like a continuing winning formula for you! I wonder if anyone detecting after you does any better, or just gives up!πŸ˜† Anyway, gotta also give some credit to any (especially yours) spouse that endures our hobby, and the amount of hours away! I'm sure some relish their own time alone, but other's are not so understanding! πŸ€πŸ‘πŸ‘ PS- While I do miss your "Trash Art"ℒ️! If that was a consession to your wife; timewise, I completely understand, and commend your dedication to your "other" hobby?!!πŸ‘°πŸ˜‚
