  1. Hey Rob, I forgot to say that i hope you, and yours, stay safe with this approaching storm! We got lucky again here! It will unfortunately be in your locale shortly!!πŸ‘πŸ‘
  2. You all are braver men then me! My former dominate hobby was fishing; Alot! I have caught most of what swim's around in the day, and night from shore; in fresh, and salt water!! No way in heπŸ’πŸ’ am i going to be in the water anywhere close to dark!!! There was a very sucessful water hunter on the West Coast of Florida years ago, that did extremely well! I can't remember his name, but he was in the local newspaper! He said he had been "bumped" too many times by "large" fish🦈🐬, to continue night hunting!! Which is what he most loved to do!πŸ˜”πŸ‘πŸ‘
  3. Well, my new pod got the "Full Treatment" so to speak! I took it into the surf last week, to help try and find a lost dimond ring! No luck! But i got plenty of trash and lead sinkers! And eleven cents!! No leaks so far!!πŸ€žπŸ€žπŸ‘πŸ‘
  4. I think this is "Pinky" haunting you!πŸ‘» Or ML telling you to accessorize your wardrobe more, when you post pics using their products!! Or maybe they think your a Simone, and not a Simon!! Next Prizes:πŸ‘šπŸ₯Ώ πŸ˜‚πŸ€£πŸ€ (Just kidding!!)πŸ‘πŸ‘
  5. I think ML should just alter their injection "recipe" to beef up the existing molds! Little cost to add some carbon fibers, or some other wonder material in the mix! And keep on top of the market! I doubt that they will ever go to the expense of creating new molds to do the job! Better to do what Chase suggested, except for the higher price part, which i feel we have already paid the premium for, in the first place! πŸ‘πŸ‘
  6. Yes Sven, that's where it's headed, unfortunately! It's hard for us as individuals to counteract this! But i know that there are groups, and clubs that carry a bigger voice that may be helpful, at some point! But i also know that many of us older, (and wiser??!!) who detect, may no longer have the desire, time, or ability, to fight the good fight! And think if the pot is "stirred" that the restriction's will get much worse! I can only say that, in my opinion, that worse is already here in my area!! Except between the high and low tide area's of many beaches! Which is, no doubt, in the crosshairs, by some! I would love to see the detector companies take a more assertive role in promoting all the good things we do with their products!! Each company could create, and provide a quality video; for very little cost; for an individual to take to their municipality officials, and show what we do, and how we do it! And that there are a "few" bad actors going against what we believe is a very "low impact" hobby! And what little "disturbances" we may make, are small in comparson to the trash, and dangerous objects we dispose of! And that we are another set of "eyes and ears" for a safer Community!! We aren't asking for anything in return from anybody; but the right to enjoy a hobby, like anyone else! πŸ‘πŸ‘
  7. As Steve, and many others have said before! "We" have done this to ourselves! And while i know this to be mostly true! I feel it is also true that we can help cut down on the offenders! By making sure the powers that be, and law enforcement, are; when necessary; notified! And made to realize that most all of us do a service in many ways! And that they should not punish us all, for the mistakes of a few bad actors! In many ways, we are some of the best "eyes and ears" of law enforcement, by being mostly lone hunters in some frequently opportune environments to witness possibly "shady" thing's going on! And reporting them!! Stay safe! And keep "plugging" away!πŸ‘πŸ‘
  8. I'm very sad for your situation Rob!! But as dog said, don't give up!! I personally, would take it a step farther with the known "hole" offender! If I observed him in the act, i would report him, and his vehicle tag number, to the police! And a little "eye witness" phone video to prove your complaint couldn't hurt! He's giving a bad reputation for us all, and should be taken to task for it! (but not by you in person; too risky!!) The beach is somewhat harder to challange an offender, and make it stick! But parks, schools, etc.. are an absolute no-no for hole's left behind!! Even if appearing vacant, or abandoned! I'm dealing with two county's that have banned "digging", but not metal detecting! This is how the official's think they can circumvent actually banning detecting (thus legal challenges) around here! Thank's to people like this individual! And over zealous archeologists, thinking that we are all "stealing" precious pre 1970 coins, etc... (The 50 year rule!) And other "ancient artifacts" that are no longer "in situ" for preservation, and study! (Ex. Plowed farm fields, etc...)πŸ‘πŸ‘
  9. Hello Bill, Welcome to the forum! I'm on the Florida Coast with my 800! Best of luck with yours! Hope to see some good finds from you !!πŸ‘πŸ‘
  10. Hello All!!! Just wanted to wish all the East Coast hunters, and visiting hunters out there, to Be Smart and Safe, pre and post storm!! No amount of potential detecting finds is worth risking your life!! As a Retired Public Safety Employee, i am extremely familiar with the many hazards during storms such as this one! Good Luck Detecting!!πŸ€πŸ€ I hope that you all suffer No loss, or damage!! And i look forward to the many great finds that this storm is likely to produce!! Maybe I'll see a few of you out there, if i get the chance!!πŸ‘πŸ‘
  11. I second that Dilek!! I'm very happy you frequent this Forum, and look forward to any news, or opinions, you post! Thanks!! And as you know, or may have heard!! Steve has "zero" problem putting the Boot on "posers", and "troublemakers"!!πŸ‘πŸ‘
  12. Simon, I would say you have the background to morph a couple of your detector's together!! I'm thinking you could name it the "Simon Sporker Special" !!πŸ€£πŸ‘πŸ‘
  13. Well Steve, You did say before that you would sell before the warranty expires! Time to sell yet?? πŸ‘πŸ‘
  14. Hey Simon, That buff guy was me!! (About 30 years ago)!!πŸ’ͺπŸ€£πŸ‘πŸ‘
  15. Lets just say... Not pleasantly; asleep for the hard part!! And there not done! It's a process!! I get a few weeks break! 😡 πŸ‘ŽπŸ‘
  16. Thank's Colonel, Sounds like a good assessment to me! It will be on mine soon! A little "Joe" trivia; my DaughterπŸ™‹β€β™€οΈ walked for the first time at Cocoa Beach!! Good thing i wasn't detecting back then, i probably would have missed it!!πŸ€¦β€β™€οΈ πŸ‘πŸ‘
  17. Awsome finds Glenn!! Keep up the good work!!πŸ‘πŸ‘
  18. Good luck to you guys!! Stay well hydrated!! I just had to watch a CT Scan "detect" a couple of Kidney Stones that had to be removed; and have been kicking my a$$, since Saturday! NOT Fun! Can't wait to get back out, with my recently returned Nox! Tropical Storm possibly a week or less out! May see some decent beach action, finally?!πŸ‘πŸ‘
  19. You all have given a variety of opinion's on a few different threads now! And obviously, on the surface, (to, i think, mostly newer people to the hobby), it looks like a relatively easy question to answer; like so many others that have been asked! But obviously there are so many variables for depth, (not to mention local restrictions,) etc.. to give a "one size fits all answer"! Anyone who has put any serious time into reading books, forums, blogs, and field time, etc... to learn; i think, understand's what a monumental question " How deep can it go?" Is! I would almost compare it to that "wonderful" question!!: What can you, or what did you find with that thing??πŸ€£πŸ˜‚πŸ‘πŸ‘
  20. I have always used a separate pinpointer! Much faster and efficient, in my opinion! But it's funny how we each have modified our search and recovery methods to suit our individual needs! . I will be installing 3.0 shortly! Always like the updates! . Nice work Mn!!πŸ‘πŸ‘
  21. Same here Walter, My 2 problems did not appear for them, but they found a third, and replaced my pod last week! Took about three weeks door to door! Someone here had said recently that their "new" pod was a rebuilt one! And that may be the case with mine! But I'm ok with that, as long as it functions the way it is supposed too! It doesn't look warn to me! Mine that was sent in, only had a slight wear spot on the handle; otherwise looked new! It appears that they don't stock many, if any replacement parts at the Repair Center, and must await shipments for confirmed problems!πŸ‘πŸ‘
  22. What ever happened to "Don't look a gift horse in the mouth"!! Complaining about a download that's free, that you don't have to install, baffles the mind! Really?? πŸ‘ŽπŸ‘Ž
  23. I still test them that way too! But i also always put scotch tape over each one in my battery box to keep from shorting and catching the house on fire! (Yes, it can happen!)πŸ‘πŸ‘
  24. Sorry to hear about Reg! Condolences to his family!!πŸ˜‡ πŸ‘πŸ‘
