  1. Very sad times we are in today! With Covid, crime on the uptick, and gold on the rise! It's making for a bad combination! I'm just glad that the poor guy didn't get injured, or worse, in the process!πŸ‘ŽπŸ‘
  2. I think the direction of this topic is prophetic to some extent! This was like watching a train wreck in slow motion! A White's topic, breathing it last! To a Garrett's topic, full steam ahead! Compared to many of you, i never owned a White's Detector! I most certainly would have, had i not stopped detecting for so many years! So while my prayer's go out for the employees, and i wish them great success in their future employment! I share little sympathy for the individuals who ran White's into the ground! My former employer did pretty much the same thing, and it blew up in their face's, for many year's afterward! And is still suffering their lack of vision! It wasn't "Rocket Science"! We told them repeatedly what was going to happen! But they ignored the warnings! Still stings a little to look back on it! But it made me a stronger, better prepared person! And i feel it will do the same for White's former employees! Good LuckπŸ€πŸ€ be with them all, in their current and future endeavors!!πŸ‘πŸ‘
  3. I'm pretty much with GB, and Chase on this! I reread your profile, and must say, you have alot of cool hobbies competing for your time! So maybe/ maybe not on the value of your time! I do see a common thread in them though! You like different forms of history! Old motorcycles, stamps, coins , relics! Etc...! Very few people are ever going to make a living out of detecting! For the most part, most hunts i'm probably averaging a dollar an hour in clad! But that is not why i do it! Its for the mystery, and challenge of the hunt! And i can dedicate as much, or as little time as i please, to it! I'm a collector of many of those same things myself ( except for bikes)! It's more about the thrill of the hunt! And since I've been on the Forum, learning and sharing experiences with others! You are in a very historic state, and i wish i had access to what you have the potential to find! I've said it before, but they don't call "Detecting" Finding! Or "fishing"; catching! Finding and Catching would be too much like a job, and take all the fun out of it!πŸ‘πŸ‘
  4. Update: The 800 arrived today with all my sent part's; and a New Pod! Here's what they said for the Pod replacement: **7-7-20 "Machine ran close to 4 hours, and did not experience an ER41 code.....However, the speaker volume is low, and seemed to get worse, the longer the machine ran! So will need to replace the POD". So, to ML's credit, the day after they received it, they tested, and diagnosed a third issue with my Pod, and ordered the replacement! The rest of the time was just waiting on parts! Thankfully, there was a third issue, since the two that i had, did not repeat for them! I would hope that they still would have replaced it anyway, based off of my report! Thanks to Max P., Dan D., and John D. for getting it done!!πŸ‘πŸ‘
  5. I've said this before awhile ago, but it bears repeating! Garrett doesn't need to continue on the hobby side of the business! The security side could carry them just fine! But they want to because they can, and have the talent, and modern tooling to stay competitive! And I'm sure, that was at least one of Charles Garrett's wishes, before his passing!πŸ‘πŸ‘
  6. Cool find! Haven't seen any quite like that before! πŸ‘πŸ‘
  7. Simon, I hope you didn't use "the wife's"😜, brightly colored "hanky" to clean it up!!🀣 πŸ‘πŸ‘
  8. Awww, to bad she claimed it! I know how much you like to stand out, when detecting!! πŸ€£πŸ˜‚ I'm fully accessorized; day or night!! Like rubberbands, they have many uses!! And are inexpensive! (very minimal protection from catching or transmitting Covid!) These are a few; but none Minelab won!!πŸ‘πŸ‘
  9. Very good video, I would definitely put that on the short list as a backup for my 800! πŸ‘πŸ‘
  10. Welcome to the Forum tunde, Like previous said, Great place to learn! What area's do you plan to hunt? Any previous or current skills that may be helpful? And also you may want to search for other types of targets there, or closer to home! Keep that in mind when buying equipment! This hobby takes on a life of it's own, based on your location! Your interest's may grow to other areas! Good Luck!!πŸ‘πŸ‘
  11. Hey all, I found this website today that gives those of you outside the US; a US shipping address! To buy things here, sales tax free, and have them forwarded to your door anywhere in the world! Do your due diligence, and make sure things are legit first! But hopefully, they will make products cheaper, easier, and quicker for you all to ship from here!!πŸ‘πŸ‘ Http://www.shipw.com/
  12. Hey all, outside the U.S.!!, I just found a site that may be of help in getting things shipped from the U.S.!!πŸ‘πŸ‘ https://www.shipw.com/ Update: I created a separate thread for this! Didn't want anyone to miss it, that needs it!!πŸ‘πŸ‘
  13. Geof, Thanks for sharing your wealth of knowledge! You have obviously put a lot of time and effort into your collection! I have my own meager US version (only several are detector found!), but my knowledge of them pails in comparison! And i need to work on their preservation!! (Have some old Album damage to deal with!πŸ˜”) πŸ‘πŸ‘
  14. Yes Jeff, Hopefully we will get much more focused testing, when it's released! You all do a great job of breaking things down for us less experienced forum members! The efforts do not go unnoticed!!πŸ‘πŸ‘
  15. Yes Steve!! We're "childish" sometimes!!🀣 πŸ€ͺ Here's a more "adult" description!! 😴 "Technical Data for the Creation of Secondary Prevention of Water Intrusion into the Equinox Series of Metal Detectors"πŸ’€πŸ‘πŸ‘
  16. Well Jeff; Thanks for posting that!! That is actually the closest to realistic video i have seen so far, for the Apex! I'll give Steve Moore credit, where credit is due!! Real world use! No hype!πŸ‘πŸ‘
  17. How about a rubber glove? Five mini buoyancy pods! Or four pods and the thumb for the coil cable?! Hummm!πŸ€” Hey, is that guy swinging a rubber chicken!πŸ” No man, its a rubber glove🧀, on a stick!! (Jeff Dunham!) πŸ€£πŸ‘πŸ‘
  18. Nice work being preemptive Simon! Now that you can't use the shovel step's anymore, you can glue a couple neodymium magnets there to check for ferrous, when you dig!πŸ‘πŸ‘
  19. Kac, Ship's with a box of XL Trojan's πŸ€£πŸ‘πŸ‘

  21. Hello all, Just an update on my 800 that was sent out to ML on July 6th! Just received shipping info for today's shipment, via USPS 2 Day priority mail! Pretty quick turnaround, considering Covid issues!! I had sent in all electronic parts for testing!! And a Repair Center Email below!!πŸ‘πŸ‘
  22. Thank's for the location's in TN!πŸ‘πŸ‘ Disney Vero, and several other places, put you right on the beach, in the middle of 1715 Fleet wreck sites! Not too crowded! And if you are lucky, and hit the right wind direction when your there, you can find some real treasure, or fossils! No water detecting allowed though! Taffi Fisher ( Mel Fisher's Daughter) runs the museum in Sebastian! And the other great museum; McClarty's; is just a few miles up the coast near Sebastian Inlet!πŸ‘πŸ‘
  23. Welcome Sir Larry,πŸ›‘ "The detector is mighter than the sword"! Well, alot more fun anyway! Glad to have you here! I like the name; hope you don't mind! Ask all the questions you want! There free! The wrong detector is not!! Give us some specific's, so that we can better help you out! Where and what you hunt, or anticipate hunting, etc...πŸ‘πŸ‘
