Initial Thoughts On The Pulsedive
Joe D. replied to ☠ Cipher's topic in Nokta / Makro Metal Detectors
I got the box set, and the 8" coil about a week or so ago! I've only charged it and made sure all the accessories fit and worked! Did a few air tests, but no water test yet! It supposedly won't do full depth, until it's in the salt water! I would like to do a salt water, fresh water, and land comparison to see the difference in depth for each! **Be careful that the accessories are lined up properly when installing! I'm going to remove the "Red Arrow" stickers, and use permanent ink, or nail polish to mark the alignment spots! The stickers will not last long in water, i suspect! **I can see that the little plastic "stop" tab may be a possible weak point! As it may not be hard to snap it off, if you are not careful! **The attachments must be swapped out, and attached in air! (Check gaskets!!) No underwater swapping, or carrying seperated, unless kept dry! I'm thinking drybag or box, if i need to bring more than one attachment in the water with me! **The box kit comes with (2) caps! A Vented "Land Only" cap, and a Nonvented "Water" cap! I will probably keep the Water cap on full time! One less thing to forget to install! And "sound only" mode was plenty loud enough with it on! I did not receive any English instructions, so i will have to hunt them down on the internet! That's about all i have so far! Good luck all!👍👍 -

I was just looking at your's on Amazon, and saw these! Looks like they come with a bungee!! And behind the ears, so they stay put! Ratings are so so, but maybe because they did not normalize them properly underwater!👍👍 Update: Couldn't resist; i just ordered these! Wish me luck!! -

Joe D. replied to Argyris's topic in Minelab Equinox Forum
I know that the Equinox end (1), can be bought on the SeriousDetecting, or Kellyco website; don't remember which one, for about $30; not cheap!! The 1/8" end can be gotten almost anywhere online! I have a few that are even threaded, that were cheap, that can probably be made waterproof with a matching female end! ( Note: Different size diameter threads, from the Equinox end!) As far as the bungee wire, i would think that any that were shielded would do! I would not cut up a nice set of phones, unless you are just replacing the end! Phrunt (Simon), amoung others, can give you more detailed instruction on creating it! And maybe another source that is cheaper for the Equinox ends! Good Luck!👍👍 -

Good pics!! Love the workaround! Too bad the wireless module doesn't work underwater, then you could do the same thing!!🤔🤔🤔 👍👍 -

Excellent report Argyris, You can buy a bungee wire extension that has a ML waterproof end, and a 1/8 plug end! Or make one up yourself! Just a little soldering, and the ends needed! I like the earbuds!, i may have to try those out! Great finds!👍👍 -
Hello xlbsa, I'm sure you have some very historic areas to detect! Show us some finds when you get a chance! I like the orange detector! It would be nice to have a color selection from the main manufacturer's, since we all like to customize our "rides"! Welcome to the forum!👍👍

My Equinox 800 Is Back After It Leaked
Joe D. replied to Rick N. MI's topic in Minelab Equinox Forum
I hope it won't leak! But either did the last one, as far as i could tell!! The pod was never underwater! But that is getting ready to change, due to beach conditions being what they are! It will be interesting to see if the coil is the issue, and not the pod! I don't know if they will even tell me what part went bad! I will be able to tell what was replaced by the serial numbers! 👍👍 -

Joe D. replied to Rick N. MI's topic in Minelab Equinox Forum
Well, i sent my 800 off to ML this morning! No prepaid label! About $13.00, no biggie! I have about half my warranty left, so i will give the new one a pool test, as soon as i get it!👍👍 -
Fisher Impulse AQ And Nails?
Joe D. replied to abenson's topic in First Texas - Bounty Hunter, Fisher & Teknetics
If the regular public knew how many "sharps" were in the sand, they would never go barefooted there! Or let their dogs run around there!! Some beaches near me have had bon fires for 60+ years! It's not as common anymore, but still happens! And that's not the worst of it! Broken glass, drug syringes, tent stakes.... and that's not counting the plastic stuff everwhere! I pick up the sharp stuff, and the dug items, but if i picked up everything i see, there would be no time to detect!! Sad but true!!👍👍 -
Fisher Impulse AQ And Nails?
Joe D. replied to abenson's topic in First Texas - Bounty Hunter, Fisher & Teknetics
Don't forget all the melted bon fire aluminum cans, that sound like silver! To me, that is worse than the pallet nails! And broken beer bottles, syringes, etc... The public has no idea how much we clean up!👍👍 -

Must be those pesky "Carpenter Fish"! Or maybe "Hammerheads"! I've seen a few of those dropping new nails in front of me, while detecting! Honest!!🤫👍👍 -

Who Has The Impulse Aq?
Joe D. replied to Ferrous Grump's topic in First Texas - Bounty Hunter, Fisher & Teknetics
I think we all appreciate any input from our form members that receive an AQ! And of course; Rick and Alexandre !!👍👍 I trust Steve to filter the other forums for pertinent information! I would be happy if you all could buy a beach house, with finds from the AQ!! Good Luck! And Thanks!💍💍💍👍👍 PS: SchoolofhardNox; NO beachhouse purchases, or any other "hard earned" money spent, where they are restricting beach detecting!😡👍👍 -

Awesome Chesapeake Bay Video! Now that was the heyday of water detecting! Plentiful finds, few regulations, few Mcmansions clogging the shore! And no taxpayer funded renurishment sand to bury everything, and suffocate the natural environment! Now I'm sad!😞 👍👍 -
Mars Telescoping Metal Detector Shaft For Ace Apex
Joe D. replied to Steve Herschbach's topic in Garrett Metal Detectors
Maybe the beginning of a new wave in metal detecting! 🤔 Pick your brand of control box; to be mounted on your choice of shaft, with a universal mount! Coils could be worked out to have a universal mount also! But it would still have to be profitable for all manufacturers involved! Or it will never happen! (Only aftermarket)! Many like the exclusivity of their products, and even amongst their own lines, to ever agree on their own! But you get the idea I'm relaying; even if it is extremely unlikely! 👍👍 -
Thanks for the vid Simon, First time I've watched Bill! He's great! Even though i don't have a GM, i still got some very good information! I'm going to have to subscribe to his vids!👍👍

Excalibur Gold...#56 For The Year 14.74 Gram
Joe D. replied to Joe Beechnut OBN's topic in Minelab Metal Detectors
Great find Joe, I hope you have your shark deterrent on! That's a long way out to get any help!😬 I don't know if they really work! The detector may overpower any wearable deterrent!! Or if detectors attract, or repel them! There is some evidence that PI's can attract sharks from up to a nautical mile away, and cause them to be aggressive! But there is info going both ways!🦈👍👍 -

So true Joe B., and Gary! And I call those the "paper towel displays"! That's what i use for my photo records! And of course; an e-cigarette! 🤮 I swear; I've gotten one of those on every beach hunt this year!! 👍👍
