  1. Hello All!!! Just wanted to wish all the East Coast hunters, and visiting hunters out there, to Be Smart and Safe, pre and post storm!! No amount of potential detecting finds is worth risking your life!! As a Retired Public Safety Employee, i am extremely familiar with the many hazards during storms such as this one! Good Luck Detecting!!πŸ€πŸ€ I hope that you all suffer No loss, or damage!! And i look forward to the many great finds that this storm is likely to produce!! Maybe I'll see a few of you out there, if i get the chance!!πŸ‘πŸ‘
  2. I second that Dilek!! I'm very happy you frequent this Forum, and look forward to any news, or opinions, you post! Thanks!! And as you know, or may have heard!! Steve has "zero" problem putting the Boot on "posers", and "troublemakers"!!πŸ‘πŸ‘
  3. Simon, I would say you have the background to morph a couple of your detector's together!! I'm thinking you could name it the "Simon Sporker Special" !!πŸ€£πŸ‘πŸ‘
  4. Well Steve, You did say before that you would sell before the warranty expires! Time to sell yet?? πŸ‘πŸ‘
  5. Hey Simon, That buff guy was me!! (About 30 years ago)!!πŸ’ͺπŸ€£πŸ‘πŸ‘
  6. Lets just say... Not pleasantly; asleep for the hard part!! And there not done! It's a process!! I get a few weeks break! 😡 πŸ‘ŽπŸ‘
  7. Thank's Colonel, Sounds like a good assessment to me! It will be on mine soon! A little "Joe" trivia; my DaughterπŸ™‹β€β™€οΈ walked for the first time at Cocoa Beach!! Good thing i wasn't detecting back then, i probably would have missed it!!πŸ€¦β€β™€οΈ πŸ‘πŸ‘
  8. Awsome finds Glenn!! Keep up the good work!!πŸ‘πŸ‘
  9. Good luck to you guys!! Stay well hydrated!! I just had to watch a CT Scan "detect" a couple of Kidney Stones that had to be removed; and have been kicking my a$$, since Saturday! NOT Fun! Can't wait to get back out, with my recently returned Nox! Tropical Storm possibly a week or less out! May see some decent beach action, finally?!πŸ‘πŸ‘
  10. You all have given a variety of opinion's on a few different threads now! And obviously, on the surface, (to, i think, mostly newer people to the hobby), it looks like a relatively easy question to answer; like so many others that have been asked! But obviously there are so many variables for depth, (not to mention local restrictions,) etc.. to give a "one size fits all answer"! Anyone who has put any serious time into reading books, forums, blogs, and field time, etc... to learn; i think, understand's what a monumental question " How deep can it go?" Is! I would almost compare it to that "wonderful" question!!: What can you, or what did you find with that thing??πŸ€£πŸ˜‚πŸ‘πŸ‘
  11. I have always used a separate pinpointer! Much faster and efficient, in my opinion! But it's funny how we each have modified our search and recovery methods to suit our individual needs! . I will be installing 3.0 shortly! Always like the updates! . Nice work Mn!!πŸ‘πŸ‘
  12. Same here Walter, My 2 problems did not appear for them, but they found a third, and replaced my pod last week! Took about three weeks door to door! Someone here had said recently that their "new" pod was a rebuilt one! And that may be the case with mine! But I'm ok with that, as long as it functions the way it is supposed too! It doesn't look warn to me! Mine that was sent in, only had a slight wear spot on the handle; otherwise looked new! It appears that they don't stock many, if any replacement parts at the Repair Center, and must await shipments for confirmed problems!πŸ‘πŸ‘
  13. What ever happened to "Don't look a gift horse in the mouth"!! Complaining about a download that's free, that you don't have to install, baffles the mind! Really?? πŸ‘ŽπŸ‘Ž
  14. I still test them that way too! But i also always put scotch tape over each one in my battery box to keep from shorting and catching the house on fire! (Yes, it can happen!)πŸ‘πŸ‘
  15. Sorry to hear about Reg! Condolences to his family!!πŸ˜‡ πŸ‘πŸ‘
  16. Very sad times we are in today! With Covid, crime on the uptick, and gold on the rise! It's making for a bad combination! I'm just glad that the poor guy didn't get injured, or worse, in the process!πŸ‘ŽπŸ‘
  17. I think the direction of this topic is prophetic to some extent! This was like watching a train wreck in slow motion! A White's topic, breathing it last! To a Garrett's topic, full steam ahead! Compared to many of you, i never owned a White's Detector! I most certainly would have, had i not stopped detecting for so many years! So while my prayer's go out for the employees, and i wish them great success in their future employment! I share little sympathy for the individuals who ran White's into the ground! My former employer did pretty much the same thing, and it blew up in their face's, for many year's afterward! And is still suffering their lack of vision! It wasn't "Rocket Science"! We told them repeatedly what was going to happen! But they ignored the warnings! Still stings a little to look back on it! But it made me a stronger, better prepared person! And i feel it will do the same for White's former employees! Good LuckπŸ€πŸ€ be with them all, in their current and future endeavors!!πŸ‘πŸ‘
  18. I'm pretty much with GB, and Chase on this! I reread your profile, and must say, you have alot of cool hobbies competing for your time! So maybe/ maybe not on the value of your time! I do see a common thread in them though! You like different forms of history! Old motorcycles, stamps, coins , relics! Etc...! Very few people are ever going to make a living out of detecting! For the most part, most hunts i'm probably averaging a dollar an hour in clad! But that is not why i do it! Its for the mystery, and challenge of the hunt! And i can dedicate as much, or as little time as i please, to it! I'm a collector of many of those same things myself ( except for bikes)! It's more about the thrill of the hunt! And since I've been on the Forum, learning and sharing experiences with others! You are in a very historic state, and i wish i had access to what you have the potential to find! I've said it before, but they don't call "Detecting" Finding! Or "fishing"; catching! Finding and Catching would be too much like a job, and take all the fun out of it!πŸ‘πŸ‘
  19. Update: The 800 arrived today with all my sent part's; and a New Pod! Here's what they said for the Pod replacement: **7-7-20 "Machine ran close to 4 hours, and did not experience an ER41 code.....However, the speaker volume is low, and seemed to get worse, the longer the machine ran! So will need to replace the POD". So, to ML's credit, the day after they received it, they tested, and diagnosed a third issue with my Pod, and ordered the replacement! The rest of the time was just waiting on parts! Thankfully, there was a third issue, since the two that i had, did not repeat for them! I would hope that they still would have replaced it anyway, based off of my report! Thanks to Max P., Dan D., and John D. for getting it done!!πŸ‘πŸ‘
  20. I've said this before awhile ago, but it bears repeating! Garrett doesn't need to continue on the hobby side of the business! The security side could carry them just fine! But they want to because they can, and have the talent, and modern tooling to stay competitive! And I'm sure, that was at least one of Charles Garrett's wishes, before his passing!πŸ‘πŸ‘
  21. Cool find! Haven't seen any quite like that before! πŸ‘πŸ‘
  22. Simon, I hope you didn't use "the wife's"😜, brightly colored "hanky" to clean it up!!🀣 πŸ‘πŸ‘
  23. Awww, to bad she claimed it! I know how much you like to stand out, when detecting!! πŸ€£πŸ˜‚ I'm fully accessorized; day or night!! Like rubberbands, they have many uses!! And are inexpensive! (very minimal protection from catching or transmitting Covid!) These are a few; but none Minelab won!!πŸ‘πŸ‘
