I didn't even make any good finds to warrant this kind of attention!!! Soooo, THIS is what it feels like to be Simon!! (Phrunt)π€£π Ok, fun is fun! Don't make Steve "come back there"!! His edit finger is getting itchy!! Back on subject!ππ (Yes i know!! You guys were talking about Brent Weaverπͺπͺ! Not me!)ππ

Wow Rob, you would be great for my ego; if i had one!ππ€£ But no, I am just hard on my equipment i guess! But i do take care to clean and maintain after almost every hunt! Especially after the beach! And if i was ever good at attracting women, those days are long gone! At least that's what my wife tells me, anyway!!ππππ

What is everyone's take on having US and International coinage on one machine??? Other than the obvious savings on two detectors!! Is this simply a function of software?; so any manufacturer can do this; to compete with the Apex?? Or is there a hardware component??? I'm glad they used a better grip! I hope the arm cuff is aluminum this time, the plastic one's always snap off on me, no matter the manufacturer! (water use puts a lot of strain on the cuffs)ππ

Welcome Skiddim, Hoping for a healthy baby, and momma! Great that the family show an interest in the hobby! Makes it that much better! Great people here, and plenty of knowledge to be shared! Good luck!ππ

Welcome Blue, City hunting can be tough, but rewarding! Get a buddy or three for parks and questionable areas; fewer finds but better safety! And the group research can really pay off! If you don't mind the getting permissions, than yard hunting is a great solitary and safer bet! Great history there! Good hunting!ππ

Welcome Garylee, I've been using the AT Pro for years, and have done well with it! Even though i have other better detectors, its sort of like slipping into an old comfortable pair of shoes! When i just want to detect on autopilot, i use it! Sorry for the job loss! If it was something you loved doing, it will come back to you in one way or another! Good luck with the detecting, and enjoy the escape! It really is therapeutic!ππ

Heyyyy!! Simon!! Great to hear from you! Hope all is well with you, and the family! I obviously haven't been on here much lately! Like so many, I've had to deal with the family and friends getting this damn virus! But I've managed to avoid it so far! I'm trying to catch up on here but I'm way behind! Back to the "gadget"! I saw you all talking about grips, and how for each individual it varies by detector, and aftermarket/DIY fixes! While i could have made that piece myself, i thought for the price, it was a wash! So, the short time i got to use it, it did take some of the stress off my forearm! But like your back, the pain can come and go, based on what i did right; or wrong to it, on a particular day! So its like anything else we try, to improve our comfort in the field! You have much more experience with a large array of detectors, so i appreciate when you, Steve, and others make some base recommendations for detectors, shafts, coils, grips, etc.. It's a system, and no one thing is perfect for the masses! And by the way, I've also enjoyed your posts on the Vanquish! I'll probably be shopping for another detector next year to replace the AT Pro, so that is a strong candidate! I will have to see what the new Garrett, and a few others come up with first! Stay Safeππ

Thank you Fred! For all the wit and wisdom you so freely shared! You will never truly leave us! And to his family, i pray his passing was as painless and peaceful as possible! God Bless you all!ππ

Bounty Hunter Time Ranger Pro??
Joe D. replied to GB_Amateur's topic in First Texas - Bounty Hunter, Fisher & Teknetics
I sorta look at all the detector companies as the "parents" driving on a long vacation! And us users as the "kids" asking " Are we there yet"!!! Most all of you have been there!!! How did you answer after about the 50th time?π€£π Not the perfect analogy, but you get the idea!ππ -
Hello and welcome Billy, The welding and fab ability goes well with detecting! We have many here who like to make their own accessories for digging, etc.. Look forward to some posts!ππ

How To Deal With Nails And Lots And Lots Of Brass ??
Joe D. replied to dogodog's topic in Nokta / Makro Metal Detectors
Hey DoD, I just responded to you on Meet and Greet! Welcome! Don't Get Discouraged!! All that junk probably means no one else has taken the time to find the good stuff!! I would love to detect a "junk" area like that! Other than the "Treasure Coast" ( local's rule there) North of me, there's nothing historic anywhere in South Florida that hasn't been paved over, built on, or inaccessible! It depends on how much access time you have to this property! You can "Cherry Pick" the good targets with the detector you are most experienced with, if limited on time! Or, if you have unlimited access, digging it all is tiring, but will not only clear the way for deeper and masked targets, but even the "trash" could be worth finding! Gridding the most promising areas in manageable chunks may make it easier to clear the trash! And not wear out your ears!! Use landmarks with your grids, and take pictures to keep track of where you've cleaned out! There's alot of other variables that play into it! Like your experience level, has it been detected before, etc! But overall it sounds very interesting and ripe for some good finds!! I'm sure others will chime in with much more knowledge than me! Good luck, and keep us posted!ππ -
Hello and Welcome DoD, Your in a great area to detect many types historic items! I see you have several detectors! Show us some finds!! Or send us some bourbon! Not in any particular order! π€£π€£ Happy hunting, and look forward to some posts!ππ

Hey Anthony, Welcome!! I too took a much to long 30 + year break from detecting! Got back to it in 2015! Mostly beach and parks (Florida), but when I'm out of state, I'm always picking up some kind of rocks, and minerals! I visited Carlsbad Caverns (loved the evening bat flight), the Petrified Forest Park, Painted Desert, Grand Canyon, and many more spots when i was younger, and loved the camping, and hunting around! Let us know what detector(s) you all have! Good hunting!!ππ
