Welcome Jared, What other detectors and hunting have you done?๐๐
-
All kidding aside, hopefully, Garrett has an ace up their sleeve for this year! (If it's even a detector!) The Vanquish and the Knox (amoung others) have a big lead! I still like using my AT Pro! Lately, I've been using it more than the Knox 800! Which i mostly use at the beach! Yesterday, i started working a small area in a local park with the AT Pro! Once i think i got everything! I will go back over the same ground with the 800 to see what i missed! The highlight find today (and the year so far) with the Pro was this Kennedy half!! It was partially masked by alot of trash! First for me! And popped out beautiful! New spot beginner's luck!๐๐๐

Equinox 600 For My Very First Detector?
Joe D. replied to chainicin's topic in Metal Detector Advice & Comparisons
Well, i guess im a little late to chime in here!!! A year to the day to be exact! I don't know how i missed this post until today! Weird!! Anyway, are you still around?? How has the 600 worked out for you??๐๐ -
I just wanted to say that i value people like Rick and Le Jag! Who have taken the time; and the flak; to keep us as informed as they can! I don't care what company makes the "Toys"! Or when/if they will go to market! What i do care about is product quality: Get It Right!! And service: Keep It Right!! The rest does not concern me in the least, and will work itself out! It's as simple as that! ๐๐

Hi Jim, Welcome aboard! I love it up there, and the history is amazing! Lots of old stuff to find!๐

I have a little bit of soft spot for Charles Garrett ๐นRIP๐น, and his company! Along with doing more than his part for God, and Country! He started his company the month and year i was born! And reading some of his publications contributed to my initial interest in metal detecting! I don't know about the rest of the pack's longevity, but Garrett can afford to write-off the hobby division, if they so choose! Now do i think they will? My guess is a solid no!! I don't think it was in Charles Garrett's final wishes to eliminate the portion of his company that he started from nothing; and grew to where it is today! But instead, is probably no longer the main focus, due to the large demand for the security end of the business! I don't necessarily think they will always try to keep pace with the others detector-wise, but i would not count out Steve Novakovich's (and Vaughan's) direction to keeping the Garrett spirit; and detectors; alive! Just my opinion!! No disrespect to the other great detector manufacturers out there! Several of which, i also own!๐๐

No gold chains for me either; yet! But i have found a few very small gold beads! Pain in the butt to locate, even with my pinpointer, in the beachsand! But i have no doubt chains are doable! The few chains that i found previously with other detectors, were either hung up in the seaweed, or stiff rolling around in the surf line!๐๐
