He's not the only one! I had similar issues on a recent test hunt.

I experienced some of the same issues.

What a great Review! Thanks, 1FF18B! I wasnât looking for more depth as much as I wanted a BT Pinpointer for my Legend. If I use my Z-Lynk system, itâs not as weatherproof. I took mine out for a short 1.5-hour test run yesterday. I updated to V1.13 and paired them at home, according to Dilekâs instructions. They worked fine. Neither unit automatically paired in the field. I find that pressing the Mode button on the Headphones often helps. Other problems I encountered besides connectivity, were constant squealing even while holding it in the air. Pressing the button briefly stopped that. Several times, it wouldnât locate a target in the plug but would find my watch. Every time I turn the Pinpointer off, a few seconds later, she says âDisconnectingâ. Thatâs kind of annoying. I hadnât noticed any deterioration of sound with the Headphones. Iâm also unsure whether Iâm supposed to touch the tip to the ground when powering on to GB the unit. From what I understand, Bluetooth is not designed to have multiple devices operating at the same time. Thatâs probably why most of the companies used WIFI. I would hazard a guess that even Garrett's Z-Lynk is based on that technology. Going to BT gives customers more Headphone options but I havenât had any issues with manufacturers' brands other than the unavailability of Earbuds.

I had the opportunity to spend a couple of days in Stanton, Arizona Training with Rusty Curry and Miguel Ardito from Garrett. Rusty brought up the subject of âGarrett Directâ and I informed him that his Dealers werenât happy with the competition. His explanation was that itâs not a full-blown website with ALL of their products. Itâs simply a platform for Garrett to move their refurbished units and slow-moving items that dealers are not âpushingâ or even ordering. Also, if you walk into their headquarters, you CAN purchase a Metal Detector AT FULL MSRP, the same as Garrett Direct. Iâm feeling better about it now that I have the facts. Garrett is still a first-rate Family Owned, U.S. Company and I will continue to offer their products.

Does Anyone Want To Open This Can Of Worms?
Bohemia Miner replied to Bohemia Miner's topic in Detector Prospector Forum
Steve, when I used the term "Dual Frequency", I wasn't referring to SMF. I know the Compasses were "selectable", one or the other. Didn't they (Compass) have one that had a lower frequency for coins and a high one for gold nuggets? Something like 7 and 50, making it a dual-purpose machine. Thanks! -

Thanks, Steve! One hears a lot of information and claims in this industry. It's sometimes hard to determine what' true and what's not. I've recently read Charles Garrett's book regarding hunting in "Sand & Sea" and the Sea Hunter PI was available at its publishing in 1990. I figured Garrett's PI progression was as you stated in your reply but maybe starting with this model, then the infinium, etc. I recently read somewhere that White's invented Multi-Frequency but was told by Jimmy Sierra that they had to pay royalties to Minelab for the DFX. If I'm not mistaken, Compass had a Dual Frequency machine before that. They are definately borrowing from each other now!
