I still like wheats; got a '57 this morn. If you're finding wheats, you're in the Ag zone, too! Got a '46 (first year?) Rosie and a War Nickel from the same area two days ago... So beat that yard like a rented mule! And get permissions from your neighbors with old houses, too! Good Luck!

Okay, just a guess:
British state crown has the fleur de lis and the cross pattee design like the outside of the locket.
I think the leaves are in the shape of a monogram for "V".
Maybe a souvenir of the coronation of Queen Victoria??? --->1838jn28 [in 18 days, will be 182 years; can it be that old?]
(what is the little flower petal design at the bottom of the V monogram?)
edit: her coronation was a year after she took the throne? I had the date wrong...

CmonNow, you mention you like bells and whistles and tweaking things: White's V3i. It's old, heavy, complicated, eats batteries— long overdue for an update (which will apparently never happen) — it's like Nox800's grumpy old grampa! A miracle worker in the right hands... a red hot mess to us mere mortals... you will need A LOT more than 150 hours to sort it all out! Go Packers! Apple Pie with Cheese! Eff 'em, Bucky!

What's that on the scale (0.1g)?

That is a wack find! Could be kids. Kids do crazy things. I've found three different holes over the years, filled with pennies (20, 40, one with 70). I'll bet someone was playing pirates, and was called in to dinner. Next day, they were doing something else, and forgot about their booty / treasure.
