  1. This is very good news, I never thought I would tell you that ... Indeed the detector is so sensitive that it can detect its own cable shielding ... The sensitivity cable area is near the coil... I use plastic clips, we will make some for the rest of the Impulse series. There is only Terry left now...
  2. We are currently reserving the SOURIAU metal connector for the gold nuggets detector series. We are currently testing this version for the IMPULSE AQ. We test its resistance to salt water. This connector would add more than 100USD to the detector. It would also supress the variation phenomenon when the connector is between water and air.
  3. I repeat my question in another way : What happens when only the new searchcoil is in the water ? What happens when searching on wet sand ? Thanks in advance
  4. Thank you for your positive, constructive and very spiritually enriching message. We were eagerly awaiting your comment. Do not hesitate in the future... I believe that Mr Dankowski had the opportunity to test the first version with Carl Moreland. And he said this is the 2nd best PI detector for the beach he had ever had. According to him, the first was the Aquastar, which I had for years with retro engineering at the time (just for fun), and which has no ground adjustment, and is at least 40% in below the sensitivity of the IMPULSE AQ on all of our tests. Nostalgia sometimes obscures reality, but I think any good prospector reacts that way ...
  5. As long as we don't see the videos it will be difficult to judge and find solutions. Video showing: - The environment. - The swing. - The settings. - The unwanted phenomenon over a few minutes
  6. You are right the swimming pool is not a reflection of reality that's why I made many videos to show you in real condition in the surf. Hoping that this will allow you to see more clearly. You should have the same retune as on the videos
  7. I'm sorry to hear that your testing experience didn't go well. Have I been told that your experience did not go well at white's with TDI either? I suggest you send a video to show us the phenomenon and your settings on a wet white sand beach with no volcanic rock below to begin with. I just spent 2 days making videos to show you normal behavior on a beach with a seawater salinity of 36 PSU minimum. The beaches here are harder than Florida. The beaches of Reunion Island where the impulse has been successfully tested are more difficult than Hawaii. If your detector doesn't works like this, you should notify Rick Kempf. He will discuss with you the procedure to follow. For my part I recommend a return to the factory for verification. And I would personally make sure that it gets sent to me for testing and its be work fine. Le.Jag also goes into the water with his detector up to 1 meter. As for Hawaii, and its white sand beaches underground
  8. If this phenomenon only happens when the detector is completely in water, the diagnosis is not the same as if it also appears as in the video. What happens when you are not in neck deep water? Have you the same result as the video?
  9. Yes this is quite normal for a strongly sensitive PI, just vary the height less than less 1 inch to get a signal. I showed it in the video below, as soon as I searchcoil is not parallel you have signal. It is a matter of habit, it should force you to swing parallel to the floor with a lot of regularity to obtain great stability and increased sensitivity. We can only help you if you show a video, where we see the settings, the swing, and the beach environment.
  10. I will post another video tomorrow. I created a seawater pool at home at 42.7 PSU...
  11. ***Please note that the videos are maybe not completely upload*** This is to demonstrate the normal behaviour of the AQ when its coil is swinging under sea water. Note that the average salinity of sea water around the world (with a few higher or lower exceptions) is between 34 to 36 ppt Ref: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_bodies_of_water_by_salinity Here the IMPULSE AQ LIMITED IN SURF PART 1 --> 7us pulse delay SALINITY 36 grs per liter (PSU) This is the link to a video taken during such tests. There was no reaction of the AQ while balancing the coil under the water (50cm deep) There was a fast recalibration made by the system at coil entering and leaving the water surface The test have been conducted in the surf of a beach facing the English Channel as a confimation , (Average Salinity = 34-36 ppt) This is the link to a video taken during such tests. Here the IMPULSE AQ LIMITED IN SURF PART 2 --> 8us & 9µs pulse delay SALINITY 36 grs per liter (PSU) Here bad and good swing difference with 1 inch variation
