Show Us Your Beach And Water Hunting Accessories & "Must Have Items"

Yes the vest, its been a evolving project since my mishaps in 2021. I like the Orca float, you never know what you might encounter and as we get older we do need a backup plan. Since a few of the beaches I have to walk at least a mile to........ I came up with this, a Kayak cart for the gear and safety. Also, I can load it with another machine just incase I have any issues or the beach is not PI friendly. It's not needed so much on the walk to but the walk back is a lot easier for me at 73, then if I do take a weight belt its a must. Another good is it fits right in to the back of my hatchback loaded, pulls out and loads into the car easy. -

Love the scoops! And all the other gear! I'm not sure if there is enough pages to post all my gear for I hunt four different seasons. -
Boom! Two Golds AQ w/Eric Foster 10” Coil

Goldscans are as rare as it gets. I've not seen any for sale here in 10 years. I was waiting for Minelab also and hoping they would come out with a great PI for diving then Alexandre Tartar / First Texas came to the rescue. I love my AQs but still I'm a little reserved on recommending. Good Luck in your search, I'm sure sooner or later the right one will come about...👍 -

I figured that was what you meant..🤣 and I wish... I did find that amount. Good luck on your adventures, and can't wait to see the treasures!! And video's, interesting to see what surroundings are. Several years ago I had a friend there that I had worked on his excalibur..he would call about once a year. Girlfriend and I Always enjoyed his stories and accent. -

I just upgraded all my vehicles to Honda's.. 2022 and 2024, they have the wireless remotes. Not to bad really for they do everything for you (lock/unlock/start) but I did make sure they are double protected from the water by using a solid WP pelican box in a WP pouch. What I meant on the, gold goes here if possible.... wearing the dry gloves are cumbersome, so its much easier to drop gold down the shoot /tube.. I had planned on putting all the gold separate from the other stuff by using two pouches .... the shoot tube for coins / other targets and the gold stuff in the zippered pouch....but that went out the door when I found the gloves to be a pain, unzipping .. dropping rings in and then zipping back up.. so I put a second pouch (with the tube) on the vest, the pouch I used this past summer. Been working on a push button, one way flapper for the shoot (tube). So much easier then the zippers when wear dry gloves and being chest deep in the water.. I do miss my old keyed fob, simple and it worked, the pouches I use have the same carabiner for rings but inside the pouch. I can see me trying to get a ring on that thing.. but it did work great for the keys like you have yours. I would love to see videos of the conditions you hunt! Please post or text them to me and I'm sure your doing fine with the gold............ with that beast, the Manticore.. -
Beach Hunting And Reading The Beach

I don't have much to share on Florida beaches for I've only hunted there a few times, but I have friends that do.. the pattern I do see is .. the ones that snorkeling or scuba out past where the normal hunter can detect do very well. Maybe something to work at since you do have lots of competition. I have a friend down there right now who is cleaning up.. first day.. second day.. third day.. Some may remember Bluetube from the Treasure Depot.. He is killing it out neck deep. -

Thanks RR! Never a stupid question, ask anytime. Strava is free also.. they will post adds but what we need it for... is free. I use a couple different things, first Strava.. from there I get home and download the GPX file off Strava, which are the tracks information... then I open the file with this.. https://gpx.studio/ which I can edit, review, add WPs and trace my tracks in relationship to the time. With this I just remember the time I found gold, the first was 5, second was 5:16, go thru the timeline and stop at each time (on the tracks) and mark. Strava is free and I use it on my Iphone which is in a WP case on my vest. Also note I have my watch on my vest which I can find the video very quick. My Go Pro records the full hunt, up to 6 hours.. with the cam running the full time it creates several 8 minute video files. I can jump right to where the video of the gold was found and get the exact minute I dug it, so I can mark the area more accurately on the map/tracks. (4:53 to be exact) Has all this helped me? Yes in some ways, with the GPX file I can overlay hunts and see where I found gold each time and maybe see patterns. Just knowing how far I got out each hunt in relation to the tides is a big help for I know by comparing past conditions. And the best possible times to go....... -
Boom! Two Golds AQ w/Eric Foster 10” Coil

Thanks Tony! No hijack, just sharing info. I did my first EF coil but not this one yet. I do my excalibur coils as they need it, just finished this one. Cleaned the coil, then filled the little areas that looked like they were cracking or pulling apart, then filled the coil cover with some epoxy and set the coil into it. Just checked my black EF 10 inch, still good after 3 years of use, I may put a light coat on the bottom, first time I loaded it up. Second pic is the excalibur cover ready for the coil to be set into. I use a black dye with a 24 hour epoxy. -
Beach Hunting And Reading The Beach

First, every beach can be different. Where is your general location, this will help us give you a better answer.. -
Love my AQs, when nothing else can find the gold they sure can sniff it out! Out for 3 hours, water temps was 56F, still very warm with using a drysuit with lite under garments. Tides were off but still low enough to get out where I needed. Both golds are 10k also one silver mercury, something interesting. I don't believe the AQ likes Silver. Nickels, Gold and Brass it loves. Many Thanks too my friend in VB, Thomas McCormick. He was kind enough to give me a second EF coil to add to my collection. My 3 hours tracked with the golds fairly close to each other. Lime green is this hunt and the blue is my last hunt with gold, from Oct 24th.. enjoy keeping track of the conditions for future hunts and events..
