Thank You....Not my best year on gold but with all going on i am very happy and thankful for all..... This hunt a couple of silver quarters and 3 mercs. Been a bad year on Half's.. may have 3 or 4 This hunt wearing my light weight Dacor....drysuit . I've got 3 off of ebay about 3 /4 / 5 years ago...during the summer..(best deals) ...2 BARE NexGen...167.oo and 95.oo then I put seals on both and a rear zippers.......I always go XXL also. SO much easier to dress as needed and get in and out of. The one suit I put Muck Artic Pro boots on for those extreme cold hunts (40F down), all have the dryglove, Si Tech kits. And all have "P" valves...a much needed luxury. Final total for each about 500.oo I did do all of the work myself and finally have nailed putting Zippers in...after the first was a disaster. The 3rd drysuit ..got it for 85 dollars, great conditions....Old Dacor... put all new seals on it and its perfect for fall or spring...Gortex and light duty which I am wearing in the video...its good until the water goes below 50... One thing I really value, is being warm and dry during the cooler months.

Water is starting to get chilly. 46 Tuesday. I was good for 2 hours and 44 minutes but ran out of time and feet were starting to get chilled. Two gold rings and 5 Silvers. Rare the AQ hits silver but the machine never fails to Amaze me...Hopefully be able to slip out next week, time to switch over to the heavy duty drysuit. AQ settings, in the water hunting, about chest deep, Brackish water...Stock coil...All Metal only....Sensitivity 8.....ATS 5......Volume 9.......Delay 11.....Threshold around 5, very low. Digging deep targets only...only iron was 2 pieces of crab pot. One I knew but dug anyway, the other fooled me.

Gold 29 And 30 For The Year...
Joe Beechnut OBN replied to cuniagau's topic in Metal Detecting For Jewelry
I've been retired 6 years and to this day I can say, unless there is a good storm..I have not figured it out. I do know what to look for when I'm out in the water but as far as regular winds, water levels, tides, direction of the beach and so on...there effect and me predicting the outcome ..I am still scratching my head. I do see patterns, and can work with them...but still a long ways to go. As far as scenery...bleak -

My Aq's First Bit Of Gold
Joe Beechnut OBN replied to okara gold's topic in First Texas - Bounty Hunter, Fisher & Teknetics
Yes, many of those will only come thru if you stay at the same angle..... you try and circle them they could possibly disappear. Most are even questionable after a couple of scoops. I'll scoop and check also, not the dig a couple of scoops then check for sometimes they disappear if the dig/scoop was off a fraction. -
My Aq's First Bit Of Gold

WTG Okra!! And sounds like your onto the "AQ" thing. I know there are faint signals with the "AQ" and there are faint "one way" signals..All very welcome when you know there is deep good targets. -

How Come No Post On AQ Finds

I've not got the Ok yet, like all small coils, it adds versatility but the big coil is still my favorite. I know they are working on other things also that will (does) enhance the performance! And Alexandre is still the man on a never resting mission to better the "AQ". . -
How Come No Post On AQ Finds
Joe Beechnut OBN replied to stateguy's topic in First Texas - Bounty Hunter, Fisher & Teknetics
Most of my hunting has came to a halt the last month. Since I am my Moms caregiver,... I was only able to get out a few times last month. Hopefully next year I can get back to normal. I know....It's killing me setting out these low winter tides! The good, the gold is not going anywhere and I am alive.....⌛ -
Fisher AQ In Gold Fields

Good Luck! Be interesting to see how it goes. -
If you want the best that fit your hearing needs you have to make them yourself. These are wired, waterproof headphones for the Minelab Excalibur. Everyone knows how bad the ML waterproof headphones are....So after several years of experimenting and testing I was able to find a combo that allowed me to hear deep targets no one else could. I ended up using Unlimited audio 50mm piezo's that gave me the higher pitch, 2400HZ that fit my hearing then add a unique horn design to amplify the audio for all metal hunting only. Being they work great for me on the excalibur I tried them on the Fisher "AQ" Limited and no doubt they are pushing the limits of unheard deep targets of the "AQ". I did test several speakers / earphone elements and these were the more popular used in Aftermarket metal detecting Head phones. Audiosears higher tone..used in several of the bigger name HP's..Sunrays Pro, Black Widows, then a few of the GG models and if I remember correct there is one set that is made in the UK that uses them also. Then the bass sound of the old Rat Phones...using Kobitones...Many swore by the Rat Phones years ago but now no longer available. I was able to make all of the speakers I tested water proof using a proven method. .

I've found the Fisher AQ weak on silver so I'm not sure how the Terra version would do on land on silver. I have spots (in the water) there are some old coins...... it seems every time I take the AQ I may get a piece of silver, but does good on the Nickels..Then I go thru with the excalibur and it cleans up on all silver (several pieces) and nickels....same spot. The bad about the AQ not hitting hard on the coins ..old deep coins are a sure sign there is deeper gold near. So I need to find the correct area first with the excalibur then come back with the "AQ"..

Little Gold, Little Silver, And Big Copper
Joe Beechnut OBN replied to Compass's topic in Metal Detecting For Jewelry
NIce save on the treasures Compass! I'm surprised you don't have the "AQ" yet. Hopefully soon...Dag Convid has slowed all even more.. Like the copper ring, neat design...is the Gator gold? -
Excellent 2 days. You took advantage of the open window and ready for another. 👍 I love memories like those for that's what gets us out there !!

Heck of a day! Big Congrads !! On the 18k I've seen a few fakes similar in design, never seen a 18k that bad but that being said. With so many possibles conditions that can be encountered.... I would say its gold until you get it tested. Keep us informed, really be interesting to see if it is possible 18k could bleed copper like that..Seen 10k do that but not 14 up.. Thanks for sharing and get back out there! Wow!

Three Excalibur Gold, Rd #82, #83, #84
Joe Beechnut OBN replied to Joe Beechnut OBN's topic in Minelab Metal Detectors
Yes, 3 silver dimes...Silver count is really low this year. 132 I think.. This spot here has to be one of the strangest. Not many silver coins, but I did figure it out. They had a bath house so I guess they would leave it in there street cloths in the locker. But they did wear the gold. Thanks Joe.........the battery thing is over for now. Just finished the last one till Jan/feb.. then I'll do another 15..then I'm done. I only made them to learn and help a few. I made about 40 dollars off of each. Not really worth it if I were into the money. One reason I stopped doing Excaliburs...I enjoy hunting way more. -
Scuba Drysuit

I like that look now that you mentioned it! But I have to be Honest, I probably would have noticed the beauty if I was a younger pirate but seems the old pirate in me only sees one thing.........Yep, no gold on those fingers!
