  1. No problem buddy..I'll put you on the list...I have enough supplies to make 11 batteries. Once I get them done and out I'll do another order for supplies....then I'll start the second list. I maybe a little slower on that one but I promise it will happen. We start getting north winds I may go MIA...😁..for a few days''...
  2. Got in 4 hours Tuesday AM, started out with rough water but by 11 am things were calming down. Took me about 30 minutes of messing with the controls before I got it to run stable and under control, then I slowly adjusted the setting as the water calmed. Started out with the settings ....delay 11.5 (15) Sensitivity 6, ATS 8, All metal , volume I ran high the whole time with the threshold just audible.. ( The settings that really seem to calm the AQ in rough water is the delay and ATS ) And by end of day I cut the delay down to 11, sensitivity 4, ATS 6, all metal, volume 9, and threshold 4/5 just audible. It was purring like a kitten. Dug a lot of nickels, no silver coins, one nickel / silver ring (my first marked that) and one 1.5 gram 10k.. This spot I have passed thru with the excalibur a few times of late, I've yet to find targets the way the AQ does. Shallow targets here are trash so I keep on walking on those..I only dig faints here...and the ring was maybe 12/14 inch's? The AQ loves the small gold rings. First time out this year with the drysuit, It was 60 degrees with winds early am. I hate being cold...Plus on one of the other forums some one posted about some flesh eat bacteria and I had cuts on me from working in the yard Monday so best to be safe. All worked out good and glad I went that route. Video of..........cam has been on the blink of late, I think the problem is moisture inside of the Go Pro. As you can tell by the frosty video. I checked to see if i got the gold ring on video, it did, then I stopped the recording..... then it would not restart. Once home I checked and it started to work again. I just dropped it in a bag of rice to see if that will draw some of the moisture out.
  3. What the issue is the brand you buy and use. SS or the plated composite material. The cheaper is 7 dollars, the SS is about 23 dollars..USD. The cheaper will last several years but it requires you keep cleaned and lubed both it and it's mate. The SS you can abuse it a little more but from time to time will need taken loose and lubed, other then that ...they seem to hold up until a internal wire breaks...One of the most important thing is to fill that internal area that the wires connect to the pins with Epoxy when installing... either. Salt is the issue, not really the wear. And that being said the Souriau brand that is used on the AQ will wear in time. A composite material..will, the screw together type are less prone to wear.
  4. Bill I have set that one on the side for now. I have to work out the bugs on it..I've got about 34 hours on it now and I've had 2 issues. One's I think I can resolve but it's going to take some me some time to figure out how to get around them. Once I get the 10 batteries done I will get back on it..if you watch my video's that is the one I use now. I'll be putting a video up later tonight of tuesdays hunt with the AQ..
  5. Thanks Buddy, If you could give us a report in about a week that would be great. I used the same battery...... I had a run time of 5 hours and 30 minutes then 5 hours and 37 minutes the second time. All metal hunting the first trip then the second mostly all metal with a hour of mute mode. I am only making 5 Shorties like yours and 5 Big batteries. I get the ten batts out there and give them several months I may do another round this winter when things are slow if everyone is still happy. The shorty is 140 plus shipping 15 dollars and the Big Battery is 170 plus 15 shipping. I expect the Big Batt to get 11 plus hours. List is full, Got in a hunt today and will be working on them Weds..on Ji.....Cliv....Cli....De...See...Sha...Cu..EL..Te ...CC ...Ga/O
  6. Like the drama leading upto finding the patch! Then moving in for the kill..🥇..Got to love this hobby!
  7. T.......... I put the Phones on ..then the hat holds all in place. I stop the video when I find a gold ring which makes it much easier to edit instead of having to watch the complete hunt...here you go buddy...head phones on...Hat on
  8. You Rocked this hunt! Love the nugget ring! Amazing all of the rings you found..
  9. Been almost a week since I've been out, lots has happen but things are settling back down so I got 3 hours out today. Been watching the winds and tides and I felt safer grabbing the excalibur. Once there I seen I could have taken the AQ..water was very nice...North winds of 10 mph blew the water out so I was drinking the old bay waters today....Seems like all I was getting was silver coins and nickels until I moved in a little closer to shore..then once I got away from the hard bottom out came the 1968 Class ring. The two white gold rings are from last Saturday's hunt at this same beach......This spot seems the coins are out deeper on the hard pan, and the rings are in right as the slope starts with the sand. There use to be crab pot buoys that helped me navigate this spot but they messed me up and pulled them early this year... The bracelet top is 1/20GP had me going until I got home and seen the edge was black with small bubbles
  10. Great day 0ut! That Nox is a work horse for sure, that's all I see at the beach here.
  11. The weight difference is 6 ounces.....(4) EBL 26650......... 13 0unces which is a lot, (4) 18650 ......7 ounces..the stock battery they have now comes in at 19 0unces.......And you are correct, will the 6 ounce diff be worth a few more hours..
  12. Thanks Buddy, I do it for I enjoy being one step ahead.. As far as Fisher listening, they are paper pushers...they have in their heads what they think will work. I look at it from all different directions and test it as I go..I know just what they have planned and wish them Luck...I see the 18650 battery as not the right one...they should go with the EBL 26650...8 hours is alot more appealing then 5 and a half (30+) minutes...... Good Luck on your adventure, your very creative I am sure you will find away to out think the locals...👍
  13. Guys, the beach is becoming the place to be for sure and with the price of Gold...it's got even more crazy. I'm on a Maryland FB page and it is insane how many are asking about hunting beaches....I rarely hunt public beaches but I am hearing the number of hunters has doubled in the last year...The good here is it really takes experience to find the old gold....but the fresh drop beach's they are keeping cleaned out...Everyone has the Nox also...
  14. I get 5 hours and 30 minutes on 4 18650 batteries...The 4 EBL 26650 I got 8 hours +/--.....Here is how you figure out what you get on batteries with the AQ....And they have to be quality batteries..not a off the wall brand...from ebay or amazon which may claim unreal mAh.... The AQ eats 10.4 to 10.7 mAh per minute....in comparison the Excalibur eats about (.5) mAh per minute..does that tell you how big a battery Hog this thing is? Crazy but it puts it in the ground. So if you have a EBL battery which is a very good battery at 5000 mAH...you divide that by 10.7 which gives you 467.2 divided by 60 minutes equals just under 8 hours, and the 10.7 is with the AQ sucking the most power, if you divide by 10.4 it works out to 8 hours. Now I have canned the drop in EBL battery setup for now..I used it for about 30 hours and love it but removing the endcap, and pulling all out equaled to much of a chance of something going wrong..for example I stripped one of the little setscrews that hold the endcap in place...then I broke one of the main wires.....so I need to work on the design...maybe in the future since this is the only battery I am using at the moment to hunt regularly with. Now the shorty and the Big Battery are rock solid because they are sealed totally X 2. I'm doing about 10 between the two of those..Give them a few months out...see how all goes. Anyone interested in parts to make there own I have a short list and where I bought all. I do not mind sharing...just ask. Good Luck to all, Be Safe!
  15. Another piece of gold for the pile!! Love finding those misc pieces of gold.
  16. Thanks Buddy...👍 Thanks mn90403....That is a transit token...Washington DC..I did have a nice collection of them from several different companies but ended up sending them down the road..Not worth much other then conversation piece.
  17. Thanks Compass! I love that AQ...Not a do it all machine but it sure wakes up spots where you can't hear a thing with the excalibur. I walked thru that same beach the next day with the excalibur and got no signals at all...then continued to the next beach a mile away and got plenty of targets (plus 2 gold) with the xcal...Totally Stunning. I would be missing all of the silver if I did not hunt in All metal...
  18. Thanks HardNox...You know I've not even had a chance to look at it close other then I looked for the hallmark..10k.. Things are slowing down a little so I will clean it later today and check out the sizer..from what I could tell it looks like it was custom made..I'll get a close up for it is different then most I have seen, which they are fairly rare.
  19. Small gold ring from Last Friday using the AQ....Got 2 more gold Saturday but they were at a different beach and the excalibur. I'll post them later this week. Hit a bump in the road Sunday night, had to take a family member to the hospital ..she was in for few days and came home today... Thank God..all went very well. I was out twice last week with the shorty battery and it is now packed up and ready to go a few rounds with my friend Carolina...Give him a week with it and see what he has to say...I want his confirmation on the run time of 5 hours and 30 minutes and see if I need to make any adjustments...before I sell a few. Got rid of the m-8 headphone fitting and the battery is fitted with a M-12 8 pin CTX head phone fitting..(Very Common) and replaced the M-8 4 pin on the battery with a 90 degree molded cable that goes right to the end of the white shaft 4 pin power/headphone plug...So we got it down to One M-8 fitting..which the 90 degree is a Bulgin molded SS fitting..so it does not stick out like the stock...
  20. First Congrads on the AQ Gold!! Second... a better pic may help..lol Third I thinking its fine since the tester said it was Forth...I've found some older rings that were black on the inside and fine on the outside...they were rolled gold or hand laid gold. Just a thin layer of gold over some base metal. Fifth ..I think yours is gold just some of the other metals maybe leaching out..10k is more likely for leaching to happen..I've seen up to 18k stained some.......... when it comes to water of any kind, anything is possible.
  21. That ring is stunning!! Very Nice! I tell you I am getting old..I had written up the post for this and must had forgot to Hit SUBMIT reply..
  22. That's a Great collection!! WOW! Unless it's Gold or Silver it goes, then the silver gets melted. I hate to say it but I give away stuff like that. One has a grandson that loves finding it in grandpa's yard...then some I return so others can find it...the stuff can add up so much the kids will just trash it..or give it away. My two girls know I keep the gold only so trying to make it easy on them... Very cool is a club member is up in his 80's and he has seeded hunts with his relic's, no charge to club members. One way to send it out for those who have no experience finding some of the kool things he has..
  23. WTG Buddy!! Your AQ is HOT!...You get a longer running battery and that gold count will double!!
