Sounds like a good time buddy. I'm guessing the wife had a good time collecting seaglass.........Got to love that water down south..
You've not missed anything here, High bacteria in the water the last week has slowed the look for treasures. Be Safe and enjoy..

Lots of digging there!! 22 hours... you got to be feeling the pain..
Yes, best to pick your days...Hopefully we will see a 8 inch before winter hits? Or I may take the coil off of the Barracuda.. 😳

Nice job. I have done this as well. Though you were early , I'm amazed no one else bothers. I see walkers , joggers often go right by large broken glass and just glance at it doing nothing. To me , they are almost as bad as the ones who are breaking the stuff. I hunt SM often. About a month ago , I came upon a naked , bloated , dead body at the jetty just south of there. Never know what you are going to find in the early morning hours.
That had to shake you up..Wow!
I had a friend who found a small child who had just disappeared and they were in a frantic search to find. He bumped the child with the coil and was shocked to see what he had hit. I think he is still a little shaken from the incident and it's been 7 years .

The right buyer, or a good jeweler. Will have it reset to stones of their liking! But a comparison picture to go with it couldn't hurt!
Have an appraisal, maybe a reputable jeweler that deals in antique jewelry can identify the maker by workmanship alone!
I'm sure I'm not telling you anything you don't already know! Just thinking out loud!! No offense! Love the stuff you find!!👍👍
Thanks Joe D, No offence taken. Down the road I do have to get several of the nicer rings together and take them to little jeweler shop that sells them locally. I have been in there several times showing them some I have found and funny it's like I'm teaching them? But there is a small market for them and if anything just to save the rings from getting melted I would sell them at melt price..someday.

Joe,
Great finds! Cool ring! Those coins are encrusted the same, and conditioned the same, as the walking half i found earlier this year in fresh water! Too bad they don't hold up better! But the ring is in great condition!
If it's real Art Deco,(maker's mark??) should definitely be more valuable than melt! It should be a keeper!!👍👍
Thanks Joe.........Sad about the silver for sure but it does add to the melt silver going in...last weight on that was 2450 grams....No makers mark on the ring, other then a fineness mark. No doubt Art Deco...just wish the blue stones were still in it...then it would really be stunning. I found a similar on line if I find it again I show how the blue stones really set it off...

WTG Pirate. That ring is a beauty. I hope they don't move your markers anytime soon.
HH
Mike
Mike they moved them last September ..killed me.
But I have got to know the bottom so well I can sense from the level (drop off) and past dug holes where I am.

Did the tropical storm have a significant impact on your areas? I seem to recall you saying that since you hunt a bay, often the stroms don't affect you much. I assume that is because the bay is protected from the surge from storms offshore. This one went right over the top of you?
Nice finds (as always) and I look forward to your future hunts in this same area with the Fisher Impulse.
I would not say significant but it did impact the first beach some, I record the real time winds, water level and storm location ever 30 minutes from 9am to 3pm during it's passing right over us...Now it's time to see how my recorded stats play when compared to what I find.

One 18k Art Deco ring...1930's, Diamonds and looks like it had blue stones that filled in the gaps.. one remains. 😢
Five Silvers, and a few other time period pieces...Almost 4 hours out..Jelly fish are gone.. were hundreds, ........seen 3..
Recon ..with Excalibur
Report to myself....
500 foot long area, Chest to shoulder deep ..parallel to shore..Markers 5 to the east..Marker 1 west....Markers are crab pot buoy's
Sand moved in...more to the east, with some iron mixed, plenty of good targets between 1 and 3 markers, fades out 4 n 5.....area I was going to check with the "AQ" has now moved, covered by sand. . Coins seem to be further out between 1 n 3, One concentrated area of iron possible crab trap pieces (marker 2)
Future..........AQ hunt area ........markers 1 to 2..and slope for deep gold in chest deep....from Markers 1 to 3. Gold ring found between Marker 2 and 3 bottom of slope...I feel sand on the slope holds gold for the pattern of this area most gold is found in the deep sand slope.......coins in the flat...........
(Most of the bad targets are marked, holes dug and not filled on bad targets) Good for about two weeks, July 20th...... I can tell when I start to dig these targets for the consistency of the sand is different, softer.
Be back to this beach when the water levels drop, things don't change much there unless major winds. Headed to another spot Saturday to get a damage report.

No need to worried about the video...Just nice to see a picture of gold found, or should I say ...saved from the elements.

Finished up both waterproof batteries this past week, and had the inline battery out in the water about 12 hours now with no issues.
Both will cover my hunting needs for a while. Both batteries packs charge to 16.8 volts...the inline EBL batteries are 5000 mAh, the Samsung 35E 3500 x 2 = 7000 mAh......Stock battery will go into storage and saved only for warranty issues.
Cost wise the inline is the best investment...A little more work charging..but lighter then the stock battery.
The 8 cell battery has a longer run time, and much easier to charge..heavier then the stock battery ..the charger runs the price up on this setup...24 dollars plus 12.oo for the M-8 female fitting..
I may try and make a shorty 4 cell of this kind since I have the charger already. Runtime would be around 5 hours plus using 3500mAh batteries....3500 divided by 9.8 mAh = 357 +/- minutes runtime.

Have a carrot, only use it at two beach's and since I'm deep in the water I have it tied off with a piece of rope...it would float away if not.

Congrad's on the Gold!
I'm at a loss of words on the rest other then the battery, I have experienced the same when I did use the stock battery and found best to keep it on charge until I get ready to walk out the door...And it is now in the closet...... I do know the AQ is a Power Hog.
Have you done any air test to check to see how it does with a nickel. Making sure it is working correct.
Tell us something on your settings also..I feel bad your having issues, the amount of testing and playing with it really helped me. I'm not sure if I would be where I am now if I did not have that time, plus I hunted in All metal with the Excalibur 99% of the time.
Hope things get better...

Hi Obn.Don't the sharks come in at sunset. Also have you ever hunted and were in the middle of a bluefish blitz.I have 9 gold now ,1 more and I am in the Obn double digit gold club and yet still way behind.I won't complain since I have 5 gold in the last 6 water hunts and my buddies have not got even 1 in that time.I guess I am lucky.
Congrads on the Streak! Keep it going!!
Yes, I've seen a few sharks going up and down the beach at sunset, and that was when I hunted the Ocean. In the bay I would say 75% (or more) of the time I hunt with my eyes shut, I can focus on the audio better. Only once I start digging I have my eyes open.....I see fish jumping or bait fish around I will go on alert.
-
Wow! That's a lot of Digging! A good workout and cash to show for it!
I remember hunting nights at the ocean, kind of miss it..........can't do that anymore. I'm out of the water before the sunsets now.
