  1. I agree! Very Nice!! Sometimes all it takes is One!!
  2. Many thanks for the kind replies guys. Rest up a few days then maybe next week we will see some good weather..Be Safe And Good Luck ..
  3. That's a good idea but most of the time my chest is submerged. Maybe a High Vis hat...
  4. The implant did not work today...it was Bleak with the AQ.. 1 sinker, 5 nickels, 2 religious medallions, brass barrette, and a piece of iron. 3 hour work out was the best of it..
  5. Wow! That's a Nice one! Hate to say it but I hope you get to keep your first!
  6. No I ended up selling the little 8 inch I had for the Garrett Infinium, now hoping to see one from Fisher maybe by Winter?
  7. Congratulations on the Nice gold signet! Sorry to hear you lost both video and cam..If your like me ..my video's are as prized as the gold. Stay safe and Good Luck! Just checked your other pics out..Signet has some good weight to it and that Big ring must had belonged to one big guy! Wow..
  8. After setting back reading all of the post, no doubt location is the deciding factor if depth is important. I've been searching (for deep) several years now and found one that meets my needs.........Now to put it to use. ☠️
  9. Stunning color Yellow! Got to love this hobby!..Continue the mission!
  10. I would not say every swing....I would say between 4 and 5 buoy's every few swings..and I dug a few to see what they were..crab pots pieces..so I know I would be best going into mute mode in that area.......I even dug a nail...rare here.. Add on ..second site.. Modern beach to the right, old beach to the left..there are areas of high iron where there are pieces every swing on the old beach...and I got my two gold rings from these areas, using the excal..and they were Nulls..to deep for the excal to ID..so it nulls... To the right is AQ area...to the left I will venture once I feel more confident with using the AQ in those area's...I know now to go slow and overlap my swing..see if that works..in the mute mod.. still learning..
  11. Thank You! Maybe I am the only one that loves my machine? I did have a few month jump on everyone to learn but it will take me years to feel as comfortable as I do using the excalibur..... I was offered a "AQ" in early January and wish I had taken it now, lost time. I noticed also...
  12. What do you do at beaches that are loaded with iron? More then like this..what I did yesterday..Someone asked if I hunted the spot I got the 2 small 14k women's engagement rings with the AQ yet.... Not hunted that beach with the AQ yet,... Yesterday was a scouting mission. I marked off where not to hunt with the AQ and where to hunt with it. And I guess your wonder how I marked the area off being I'm shoulder deep in the water......they have crab pot trap buoy's..between buoy's 1 thru 3 is good but once I start going into area 4 to 5 lots of iron.......Between buoy's 1 to 3..maybe 4 pieces....and I marked those pieces of iron by digging a few scoops of the sand. Since the sand is hard packed there......... any soft sand area I encounter later I pass by knowing I've been there and it's not good target...... Yesterdays Gold rings were small and all found in area 3 to 4, each crab pot is about 70 to 80 feet a part. I love this time of year for those crab pot buoys are life savers. I just walk out to where I left and start. Last year they pulled all in Oct and I was lost! Wouldn't the AQ in tone/mute be useful at sites like that, or would the Equinox be a better choice? I would not take the AQ blindly into a spot with out first getting to know it better Every beach is so different and there make up.......... I would suggest getting to know it with a Nox, CTX, or Excal. Then trying to do as I do...I have two places just waiting for the AQ...but conditions have to be calm...so I can hear the faints...I got the battery time now so if I can stay on these spots and a few more come fall and super low tides I should be able to do good, I hope. And a side note..All it takes is one wrong wind storm to waste all you know..we had a storm around March 13 to 15 that devastated one of the spots I hunt..I'm still trying to rebuilt the map in my mind with landmarks and any areas that stand out..like pilings, high iron area's, cuts, bottom matrix,....anything.....
  13. I would not be basing my buying the AQ on it's discrimination abilities. It's not the Nox, CTX or Excalibur. I'm done testing for "myself".... others may chime in.. The closest I got to testing the disc side of the AQ is testing something I may encounter while hunting..A piece of crab pot as the iron..then a gold ring..I was impressed and know what to dig if I come across this odd signal...Mute mod, swing left Iron signal, swing right a good target possibly. And doing a full swing, left to right covering the same area. Mute mode only...I don't like the tones mode. About 95% of the time I hunt in All Metal..and dig all..........since the spots I hunt I've already marked off using the excalibur .....area's of interest for the AQ to dig all .......... Chains are the AQ weakness.. What size of gold chain are you talking about?...Air test.......... it did poorly on 3 different sizes.
  14. Really several similarities, weight, size, shape and style. All found in the same area..between buoy's 3 and 4, in the sandy area. This beach was Hot during the late 40's to early 60's...where I am hunting is just about where they had a sea nettle net. (jelly fish net) Last year and yesterday I would come across the pilings for the net. So I know I'm in the right area as last year. And weird, just like last year the spot is following the same pattern of ...rare to find gold in the hard pan, but once I come in a little closer to shore where there is a mild bank of sand .........gold lies. Also I am about 700 to 800 feet off shore. Thanks Compass, Just keeping in shape.. You called it TVR...I found a beach last year that was old Late 1800's then next to it a 1960's beach.......left is old, right is more modern..once and awhile I will find gold that has either shifted or they were swimming and lost it out of the area. Signets to the left, class rings to the right. Thank You! After finding all the gold the other day you deserve to rest in...I know I hate early..
  15. Had some great winds, zero, .......smooth water, .........and fairly good tide. In the water about 3 hours, could not had been better. Other then the boats and jetski's , seemed everyone want to cruise close to shore, three times I had to flag them past. Two gold rings, 8 silver Washington's...
  16. Thank God for Glass!! Good tides get the old blood pumping!!
  17. Thanks Rob! I wait for calm water days like this for I can hear the faints so much better. So a day like this is not normal but Nothing like SCal.......you guys have killer waves, and tides, and storms...Be Safe out there and Good Luck!
  18. Thanks Buddy Okara, I like to think like a fine wine for sure. And the battery gives hope that the next AQ will be the ultimate PI...
  19. Thanks TVR! I fully agree, so many water spots here and so little time. If the water would drop a few feet we would be in the gold for sure..
  20. Thanks Buddy V! You might want to start checking the old swim holes, I know someone there that does well with those. Also go to the library and pull out some old yellow pages. Check for amusement parks or any place near the water that may have had swimming. I know my two friends Chris and Tommy killed it several years ago. Just driving around and talking to others. Near colleges they would ask about where everyone swam...Lots to be found you just have to know where to look...And Good Luck! Check out Tom and Mark also.. 21. Thanks phrunt! Just being a pirate who enjoys being in the water, getting a good work out and staying cool. Honestly. I doubt if I hunt more then 12 hours a week. I just put myself in the right place at the right time. If I see a good opp I am out the door. Gary Drayton just posted this and these are words to finding treasure..I know some don't care for Gary but lots of things he says I fully agree with. Lastly I work on timing which is the art of putting myself in the right place at the right time. I know where I am going to search, what I am going to search for and I figure out the best time to search the area.
  22. Very Sorry to hear, I hope he has a new home with streets of gold, RIP Reg, And Best to his family..🔆
  23. WTG Jim!! Love when you can take advantage of the good tides days! Hopefully we can see many more coming this fall!
