  1. Thank You! Thank You! And you have some sharp eyes! No one has ever asked or recognized them when I do post them. This place was famous for little trinkets like the tongs, lead cane ends and other things. I think I have a lead cane end up in the right hand corner of the picture.
  2. Thanks Jim..And this is the same beach you came down and spent sometimes with Mike and Me. This place has held so many surprises over the last 6 years.
  3. Thank You! It looks a little like one and I wish but it's a standing liberty quarter that is fairly eaten away.
  4. Back out saturday, good low tide........ wanted to check deep at this spot. Nothing out deep. Hard to believe I've got a 150 plus gold rings from a area that now has no targets. Did find 3 cuts in close, third cut held a few good target with lots of iron...Longest of all... 75 foot long opening about 100 feet off shore.... Second cut held deep targets (50 feet off shore) maybe 40 feet long, than first cut ..targets right on top..(20 feet off shore) ,, now to watch these close. All coins came from the first two cuts and the gold the first cut..one scoop. Excalibur this trip out.
  5. Thanks TVR, they do grow up fast for sure. Got some interesting weather coming everyone's way on the east coast.. Good Luck buddy! Thanks Bill! .... Kind of excited again about getting out. Watching all very close,,, Thank you Jim! It's good to have a back in the TDI, a very good machine.
  6. Thank You, Very Blessed both AQ's still work fine and do what I need. Yes, It was great to get wet again too! I had my oldest grandson for the summer, we did a lot of time together, him helping me with remodeling the home and just having fun times doing different things. Never got a chance to take him detecting but that is on the list for someday. He's back in school now so I can get all back to normal here.
  7. Been a busy summer.... finally back in the water, just starting to get out once a week . My 5th trip out for the year, been to this spot with the Excalibur last few weeks, bleak ..So I went in with the AQ and Eric Foster 10 inch coil as a last effort. Came across a small area on the slope that held some deeper targets........after a hour a small 10k came up, 3 scoops, maybe 12 to 13 inches down..hoping the open area moves or opens up a little more, not many heavy targets. Mostly wheat pennies and merc dimes, no quarters and only one nickel. I did dig a few pieces of crab pots only because they were deep faints.. I do skip all shallow targets since the target history of this beach with the excalibur told me it could be iron....
  8. I agree Steve. I've been purging the last couple of years, not only detectors but everything. My girls keep telling me, dad don't get rid of anything until we give you the approval.. to late for that. šŸ™„ Amen to these words..
  9. Good point Jeff, i think the photo above several questioned the air bubbles. Jeff have you heard any more about this issues? From FB post I think I seen 5 so far that were returned for water problems.
  10. Stubborn Excalibur Beach Hunters, "that is me.." I've been watching the manticore, even jointed a few FB sites, what is alarming is the amount of machines that's have hunting in the water, leak issues. I do like that opp, ....question, is the Manticore deeper in AM. I recently hunted with a friend that used the manticore and I had no problem digging good targets behind him, but he was using disc mode, and more or less a rookie with it since he has only had it for a few weeks. He has used the Nox before for several years.
  11. I agree, the excalibur in Disc mode with the stock yellows..very weak machine. Excal is much stronger in All metal but you really need a better set of head phones and the PP to disc / toggle or switch to take full advantage of what it can do. If you're digging coins that deep with the Manitcore.. there, my excaliburs are Hot on coins but not 18 inches unless it is a half dollar and that is a faint signal. Quarters are in the 14 to 16 inch range with the stock coil (here in the water). Nickels at 14. It would be great if the manitcore was deeper here in the water. I need depth since everything here is so deep, and deep with discriminate..I would love that!
  12. Yes, this was the Nox / excal hunt from a few years ago. I have a couple friends who now use the 900 and one the Manitcore which I hope to get in more time with both come fall. Also have another friend who has the D2, yet to get out with him. Be nice if we could get everyone out together. On the Nox 800 settings I'm not sure what he had as his settings other than it was a beach setting using the stock coil. And same with the guy I hunted with a month ago using the Manitcore, no idea what he was running. I know he only had his machine a few weeks. Nice Gold ! Were you using the excalibur in All Metal or Discriminate?
  13. I recently went hunting with a Manitcore hunter, new to it, he used the 800 before for several years, and before that he hunted with a Explorer ll which was waterproofed. I had no problem going behind him and digging good targets but I hunt in AM with a non-stock excalibur and this is "in" brackish waters. I've done the same with Nox hunters with the same results. Our next trip out won't be till later (Sept) in the year but hopefully we can do some comparing where he can find a deep target or me and see if either of us can hear it and get it on video. Like in this video with the Nox..
  14. I'm glad I have two also and had at a better price than offered.. 2 grand is insane. I know there are a few others that love the AQ and do well. Carolina you know Mike, ..he loves his and uses his like you use yours.. in tones mode, seems every time he goes out he digs gold. Me being a supporter, I love my AQ's. But I'm sad for all that has happened with the AQ. Selling the last of the testers at 2 grand is just the icing on the cake to this fiasco.
  15. I've hide things before going on vacation, and have come home not remembering. Best is not to panic, which will make your memory worse. I found by going on with my life things showed up. One time I came home after a crazy 10 days away, I had hide some gold away that I normally would have taken to the safety deposit box, but I was running behind so me, I'll put it some where no one would think to look. I get home and it hits me after a few days where did I hide the gold.. I looked every where and even cleaned house hoping to find it. At one point I swore someone had came in and taken it, ... but nothing else was missing so that could not have been it. A few months passed, and it showed up. I had hide about 2 ounces of gold in one of my winter gloves. that I had packed away. Lesson Learned. Another story. My Ex-wife calls me wanting to borrow a metal detector. She got married to a guy who lives in a big house, whom his wife had passed. Her new husband tells her there is a stach in the house of jewelry his older kids had hide. AS far as I know, they never found it and the detector never helped.
  16. It is the same .. first edition, if you got one that works and... it last for you... it will find the gold in the right place and if used correctly. That's a lot of variables to get aligned, which many found they could not get all working together and that equals many unhappy AQ owners. Its up to Fisher to correct their end if they want to turn this around, and selling the remaining "First Edition" is not what a company should be doing if it cared about their customers.
  17. I won't be purchasing any more AQ's until they fix Potentiometer issue, they should find another pot or have them made. At one time I had a place in New England that custom made Pots, wish I still had that address/name.
  18. Thanks Tony. They don't own themselves ...they owe us, the ones that have waited this long and still hang on. The ones who bought Limited AQ's in hope of helping make a machine that would become a game changer. They know what the issues are but still offer a machine that is 5% away from being worthy of the name, Fisher. These video's are only to show the AQ's performance..Not to convince anyone to buy the model KellyCo offers. First is 5.3 gram 22k, 18/19 inches..And this is a newer model AQ, not the original Limited. Second video is same ring..22k 5.3 gram.. same performance ( 18 plus inches ) but the first Limited model ..sorry about the settings, and the threshold.. one of my first times out with the AQ.. Also I learned so much about the AQ testing I know it helped my hunting when using it. Third video shows the Limited does very well on small gold. I think the ring was 10k under 2 grams. Hit it at 14 plus inches. And I have dug deeper golds, just sometimes I wonder if they were not a second target. Me digging up the first and not knowing I had dug it ..still hearing a target in the hole. And digging over 20 inches thinking it was the only target. Which a few times with both the Xcal n AQ I have found targets on the shoulder of the hole.
  19. At 999.oo and knowing there would be No more, I would buy a third unit.....but not 2GšŸ¤• For sure the machine has issues but after using mine, one for 3 and the other 2 years, as a PI, all metal only..seeing what they can do and the gold they have found for me, I would miss them alot if something were to go wrong with either. Is this the end of the AQ line? Maybe do a Poll ? One of many test video's of the AQ with my buddy Mike, a few years ago... Look šŸ‘€ close...
  20. They have a upgraded version. I'm shocked they are trying to sale the Limited. At least move on if 2000.oo a pop. And your correct.....Simple and Powerful is all that is required. My idea would have been go the traditional design, all in a CZ21 case.
  21. Looks like Limited with all the bad & goods. That battery is the worse. https://kellycodetectors.com/fisher-impulse-aq-limited And I still love mine.
  22. Thanks for sharing.. nice little tool to have around.. years ago I used a audiosears 2463 earphone/speaker as a quick tester for the Minelab BBS machines, to see if the machine was working, when the headphones were in question. Also I could trace out the shape of the send field, its reach and if the coil was working correct. This all came about when I was making head phones and I got a message from a customer telling me he could unplug his head phones and still hear his Sovereign GT.
  23. Not been hunting of late but when I do my favorite beaches are spots that have been closed, forgotten. Most here closed in the late 1960's. These are not ocean beaches, .........but bay waters, which can be calm to rough. sand is constantly on the move just not as much as the ocean. Here I've found hunting a few hundred feet off shore can produce the best results. Every spot is different but mostly here I'll skip all shallow targets, and listen for faints. If I come by heaverier (deep) coins like quarters (silver) or nickels I'm in the right zone for gold. A great sign is crunchies.. a layer of broken shells. These can be deep or less than 10 inches, its a matter of timing, being there as soon as it happens.
  24. I remember that video, the guy was about waist deep, calm water like a lake, detecting then sucking up the targets. One thing that stood out, the small 2 stroke sure was loud on the open water. And the detector was a CZ20. The Aquaticvak (above) looks like, I think I remember the guy walking into the water with the CZ setup and it was similar> The video was not the best.. Got me wanting to find that video now..it was at least 2o10 when it was youtubed.
