  1. MI6 vs ML pro find 40 I prefer the ML PRO-FIND 40 because of the iron disc , which is a great plus in the field for me , despite the 9V battery ... πŸ™‚
  2. Probably because the plastic used for manufacturing is too fragile ( too brittle ) . btw I had a similar issue in the beginnning of the 2000s with an ML explorer XS control box at the connection with the mid shaft . The CB was made with brittle plastic , hopefully the ML after service replaced it with a new one . Now ML uses reinforced plastic on their detectors and this issue does not occur any more ..
  3. Merci tres belle video ... πŸ™‚ And technically interesting too ... I thought that General and Park were dedicated to inland hunting only but now I know they can be used in dry beach sand too ... thx
  4. It is the same for classical detectors , bed tests are interesting but field tests are always the most important . I remember having tested a few years ago a machine with impressive depth results on my bed tests , however it was unusable in the field because too unstable ...
  5. Same for me I respect XP for their products , it is a very serious company and I am sure they would not have released the Xtrem if it did not add an ( or several ) improvement(s) to what is currently existing ...
  6. I just had a long phone discussion about the Xtrem with my MD dealer in Paris ( who is a friend too ) . He has just received an Xtrem and he will test it during the coming weeks , and will compare it with other deep scanning devices ( Garrett GTI2500 2 boxes , Pulse star PI 1mX1m ) . This guy is very experienced with deep scanning then this will be very interesting ... He thinks that XP has probably significantly improved the 2 boxes ground stability vs older generation models using multifreqs algorithms . He said that XP has improved the 2 boxes ergonomy , the Xtrem is very light ( only 2,9kg ) vs the others . Also it is very compact when it is taken apart into 2 parts ( around 70cms ) and can be stored in a case. He told me that it took several years for XP to design and eventually manufacture the Xtrem .. I will post as soon as I have more infos ...
  7. 1600 euros at Lutece detection, Paris : https://www.lutece-detection.com/disques-xp/417-xp-xtrem-hunter-plaque-grande-profondeur.html
  8. I am not a deep hunter specialist but XP states that the Xtrem is more stable than the previous 2 boxes generations with its multifrequency and that it has some iron disc capabilities ( while a GPX has almost no iron disc including on small targets near the surface ) . Looking fwd for comparative tests ..
  9. Yes , confirmed by the forum current statistics ( number of posts ) : 1) MINELAB : 2) XP : 3) NOKTA : And the others : etc ...
  10. Finally you did the good choice , well done ... Dont hesitate to post pics of your finds especially the coins , I am curious to see what can be found in Spain vs over here in France thanks ...
  11. Yes it depends from what you plan to do with your detector . But if you look for lightness and you are a coin/relic hunter , the Orx ( or more generally the wireless XPs ) are much lighter than the competition ( around 450g difference vs a ML design like the Xterra Pro for example - ( 850g for the Orx , 1300g for the Xterra , 35% difference )
  12. I agree , I use it since 2 years now and it is an excellent pinpointer , very reliable and more compact than its competitors . It has a lithium battery much more reliable than alcaline or NiMh batteries , etc .. Yes the buttons are a little hard but this is really the only ( little ) negative thing about this pinpointer for me ..
  13. I never rely on separation static tests , because they are not reliable for me . As I already said the results from the field can be opposite from the static home test results . For example a Vanquish is better than a Deus on the separation test I did at home , where it is obvious that a Deus ( 1 or 2 ) outperforms a Vanquish in the irons in the field . Long story short I only trust field tests for separation assessments .. At least 10 or 20 hours in the field , then not only a 2mns video in a kitchen ... πŸ™‚ I havent done the V1.0 update btw , too busy at work for the moment ... I will post my results as soon as I have them
  14. Personnaly I would never pay for a detector software update, whatever the brand . Not only because of the money , but because of the risks of being hacked . It is always risky to give bank accounts infos to a site . Only Amazon and Microsoft have mine ...
  15. May be you should apply at XP for an IT tech job Simon , looks like they need one ... πŸ™‚
  16. I found a link on the V1.0 contents but it has been removed , it looks like XP is doing changes on their web site at the moment ... I will look at it tomorrow as it is not stable now
  17. I have the 2021 "old" πŸ™‚ version . My favorite pinpointer by far too, a great design by quest , thanks to them ..
  18. Here is the 108th infantry regiment eagle from the Waterloo battle ( 1815 ), unfortunately I dont have its dimensions . Your eagle from Smolensk could be a 1812 artifact but it is too small to be a regiment eagle I think ..
  19. Yes perhaps a 1812 Napoleon army relic . A regiment eagle ? Anyway it is older than WW2 to my opinion .
  20. Welcome to the forum Borja .. There are a few galleon wrecks at Vigo if I remember well , it looks like to be the right place to find a few 4 escudos gold coins ... πŸ™‚
  21. Beautiful pictures as usual ... Thanks F350 ...
  22. I dont have a 900 but I did notice in the past that it sometimes needs several months and even more than a year to correctly assess a detector . Drawing conclusions after only 10 or 20 hours is risky even if tempting as there is a strong demand for tests and reports when a new detector is released ... I often made this error in the past , I am much more careful now ... πŸ™‚ 100 hours testing like you did is the right way to do the job , and there are very few people to do that. Thanks for your report ...
  23. You dont have to worry about the battery level or voltage or anything else when charging .Just plug the connectors and wait before the coil or/and the CB or headphones are full . Personally I use XP wireless detectors since 2013 and I have never looked at any voltage info or whatever . Sometimes I just charge my Deus during half an hour or one hour , it is not fully charged and this has never caused an issue in the field ..
