  1. Congratulations Joe!Two old beauties 🤩... Nothing to say for me today...Just turned off the morning alarm before 4am and continued to sleep🤣🤣🤣
  2. That's exactly the kind of beaches I have around me. Those "space invaders" are already active after dawn sometime and for this reason I always hunt underwater or at least on the surface, to disappear down when someone is next to "my space". I'm developing lung strength to stay as long as I can searching down too.Worst level reached days ago, is to don't use the diver under signal! Luckily in the summer, boating is not allowed nearshore even if some idiots can always try to land on the beach with engines on. Two hours, no more..This is the time window I'm forced to stay as for now. Tomorrow, or I should say four hours from now, I'll be there, like a ghost, as usual.
  3. A million dollar's question here🤓... In my modest experience on the saltwater field I feel comfortable with an old Ctx when there's no more than 25 cm of sand to cover the "ground zero"...No matter the coil size, this is the max depth where I can trust what the screen try to say and my ears can tell if a thin interference can begin a signal if I dig a bit more...Increase the coil size and You gain coverage+noise/lose signals quality/lose stability...Reduce the coil size and you gain sensitivity/keep acceptable depth/lose coverage... From 30cm of sand above the "ground zero" and my eyes are blind without evidence of prime ground, then the PI can do for me...(maybe).. Considering that more sand usually means more light stuff including aluminum of all sort and sometimes deep...A PI still can drive you crazy...Definitely I pray for erosion, I wait and I follow storms or the most similar phenomenon to be called like that... Vlf still win 2 to 1 against a PI....If you have to keep high the grams/time ratio... For this reason high expectations for an efficient/discriminating/ deep/ PI are so true but....Who knows when.....
  4. For the record, the new of this evening was that foundies are closing for summer stop and they don't buy gold in the next weeks ... Seems frankly like an excuse to prevent mass of people to sell in minutes. Then I sold a scarce third of what I own right now ... I'll keep it for better times ...
  5. I think not...Real sharks have recently been seen a bit far offshore here...People always scream and fastly call coastguard for lot less than that.
  6. Well, I can't be happier than now🤣 For the first time I have some modest weight and price is up...This time however I want to keep myself away from the shiver to sell it fastly...Just now going to cash in some 18k fresh fish @39.35Usd/g
  7. Me too! Location and location timing....That's what can make the difference in the same place and leave yourself amazed...It happened last week to me....
  8. Last week, I had two days to hunt in the morning and no more than 4 total hours in the water, before people came to swim around me. Summer is the time when I hate the most questions and how much time is lost when people crowd the shore. In my area it seems an insane habit to ask beyond the limit of decency ... Not that I am full of words and patience in this case. However, without high expectations, I was in the usual super drained place by I don't know how many other hunters and with some method, I slowly hunted a relatively small area. I have done this because the almost total absence of sand makes it difficult to say where to start and where to end, without a clear idea of particular clues, stuff can be everywhere trapped down. Of the few signals left, in the first day I dug a heavy piece, which was so old, was now almost red. A thick bracelet after years without to see one of them! The heaviest single good target I have found since I started in 2005. In the same place, the second day, meters closer to that magical signal, another bracelet, this time thin, but still as heavy as two wedding rings ... In addition, a small earring with a stone that seems fake to me, closed the short time left. In total 30 grams of beloved 18k in 4 hours, a bit more, maybe... What a week...What a dream...
  9. It is just a matter of time.User is not the problem and also the machine it isn't. I'd try another spot just for comparison...
  10. I'm realizing a simple 4s1p battery pack for my Tdi BH... I'm wondering if there's a way to use it until the minimum voltage available is approaching. I bought 20Ah rated Bms modules to safely handle the 10Ah peak of Samsung 35E cells. After I saw the specs, for me the ideal cut off was at 10.5/11V...it seems that those modules are cutting off power way before this voltage it is reached. Now, I think with 3450mAh this should not be a relevant problem.. But I want to make something with a steady voltage during all Hunting time...
  11. Just don't think about it. I managed to find amazing stuff in a devastated area...Probably the heaviest finds in last 15 years.I don't even posted it here yet... Go there!Kill it!
  12. I know Steve...This will be the best thing we can expect by factories...Unluckily I found few options unless to make one by myself...Not only with WHite's...Now I can even resuscitate two drowned ctx lithium batteries...
  13. So You're using 9V battieries...Can I ask You what kind package configuration You use?
  14. This week I've been two days in the water with my old ctx. I think even with the Tdi the two bracelets and the ear ring I found were easy finds.I had conditions to determine the difference...
  15. There is a lot you can do to improve the performance of the Tdi Beachhunter. Just in these days I hope to complete the final battery pack with 18650 cells. Much depends on how salty the waters are where you hunt anyway. I had difficulty with the original coil, without raising the delay up to 20uS. So not only a higher voltage can give you greater depth, but also noise, (consider it) ... For this reason I am also downsizing the coil with an 8 "mono. In the end I hope to be able to lower the delay by at least 5uS and to stay in the range of thinner targets. Keep in mind that this machine is In my opinion, something between an old tdi for nuggets prospecting and the attempt to adapt it for beach and water environment...Leaving however the lower delay available if a day you decide to go for nuggets... Believe me, forget to use it in the water with minumum delay, unless you don't cut down the gain (very wrong move). On the beach you might find a completely different conduct, but I think no one want to dig so much in trashy places...
  16. I don't speak French and barely understand it, but look at the screen numbers now...Lot less bouncy
  17. Good Job! Imho ,leave the rake as a second step...Until You can hear neat signals with a 6", there's still something good to be found!Take it when silence take place...Or...Change coil and do it again😎
  18. Appreciated Paul! I found minutes ago something about voltage drop and transistors...Actually my headache is growing, especially to understand the wiring/soldering stage of all stuff togheter... I really don't know from where to start... As for now, I can only master how to make a 4S1P pack with 18650 cells and to add the bms module for balanced recharge..My intention is to understand how can I extend the cut off time, considering a good safety margin for the cells. I'm probably writing a stupid thing, cause I feel the voltage drop is capacity involved and so reduced and prolonged in time by more AMps... It is probably a soap bubble that I'm making giant..
  19. I hope this topic hasn't already been covered and I'm not writing it in the wrong place. Recently, based on my lack of knowledge in this sector, I have however noticed large differences in actual life, not only because of battery chemistry ... I mean something about the use of power itself in using the tool. Thinking of a mobile phone, the standby time is merely relative to the battery capacity, as is the duration in call or video call, much less long ... So every time a detector is used in an area where there are several signals and we are busy digging or at least hearing many of them, the battery duration is more affected and reduced... This for me, as an inexperienced, means not being able to have a clear measure of the actual duration of the battery pack ... You can never know regardless of how many signals will pass below the coil ... So I then discovered the natural drop in voltage, added to that of absorption in the most arduous use ... And what about threshold instability and false signals if, for example, a pulse is not properly regulated and a too low delay makes it continuously sound for nothing by activating the retuning? At this point I have the impression that even with higher capacities, the voltage drop is the most difficult factor to defeat, even before the capacity .... I am facing the insertion of bms modules in these days and in the future I could add step up or step down modules if necessary, but first I would like to understand to what extent it is possible to delay the cut off, if not eliminating some form of protection that these boards cut away leaving a lot of useful voltage. Unprotected batteries can have a bad end if it is lithium, so there is a compromise between safety and durability ... I repeat again ... I am not an expert and anyone who can add his knowledge on the subject, do it without brakes because I am well open to constructive technical comments, or even comic and bad ...
  20. What a shame. I'm sorry even looking at the owner's face explaining those nuggets rarity. On the other hand, I must admit that property doesn't look like Fort Knox. To go there again and take the rest too, can be a joke🤐. If I'd be so blessed to own stuff like that, my life's first task should be to sleep near nuggets with a big gun ready to make fire. Two bad things against the original owner now are the rising price and...You can however melt it to cash in soon.
  21. This tendancy to make modern rings with "alternative"plated metals and fake stones is disgusting me😨. How misappointing can be to find that beauty, to discover later it is next to a costume jewelry piece? Still a good find for you in the USA 😉 The silver price here is ridiculous.
  22. I love the slide system under the rod! This should leave some room for personal weight balancing based on the coil on the lower side...🔥 Also,in that position, the rod's hooks are gravity centered before to tighten it...🤓
  23. Cheap and effective way...But what do You think of these? I'd go with the red one🔥
