  1. The only false statement I find in this ad is about the phones. They are garbage. I might add the battery life sux as well. Both these issues were solved weeks after purchase for me. I loved the machine so much I bought a second and have both today.  I guess Joe and I are the only two supporters of the AQ. I have over a 100 gold rings now in just two years. That ain’t bad in my book. I hunt in tone mode exclusively during my fresh drop season. I have no need to dig coins. If you understand how the ocean classifies targets, you know when to dig that iron grunt that is a 14k or 18k pig ring. Only issue with tone mode for me is you must dig those nickels. In tone mode a 14k 6 gram mans band can be reached at 16”. Until you dig a 16” deep hole in the wet sand you really don’t realize just how deep that is. Thank you Alexandre and Tom Walsh.

I believe @Carolina came up with the pin assignments while making custom headphone connectors and probably knows where to find the stock connector plugs as well. I think it would be fairly easy to 3D print a magnetic dongle to work with that magnetic USB cord. If it slows down here enough, I may explore that more.

This is a copy of my original drawing that someone has added pin #6 as positive. The first I saw of it was a post from Midalake. It’s been my finding in life that sometimes you think you know and other times you know you know. It has also been my finding that it is foolish to make a move when you think you know. Especially with electronics. That being said I can tell you most of the assumptions are incorrect. Pin #6 is positive as shown but it is pin #1 which is the negative charging pin that gives 5.2 volts DC. In my opinion, I would not attempt to improve upon the electronics or mechanical aspects of the Deus ll. I would only advise to learn to adapt as others have done. Take care everybody. On a side note Google M8 6 pin connectors for your plug.

  3. Well I imagine I will get joked on, but I love myDeus ll along with the three coils I own. They cover all the ground I need. Now for the two box, it also is intriguing as living on the east coast of Virginia, there is no shortage of treasure tales from pirates, civil war buried artifacts stolen from southern mansions, buried civil war payrolls and post hole banks galore!!! I for one am excited.

I like it Doc, the only thing missing for me personally is a little nugget bottle zip up bit on the side like the DD leather covers have, my reason for this is prior to having a cover with this I used to store my gold bottle in my pocket, and one day I found 7 grams including a 4.2 gram nugget, and while pulling my scoop out of my pocket I must have also unknowingly also pulled this little plastic bottle out of my pocket too and lost in the grass.  I didn't realize I lost it until about 20 minutes later when walking back to the car.  Had I had a little zip up bottle holder spot on my cover this wouldn't have happened.  I need my bottle on me to put my finds in so my backpack isn't viable as I just dump it somewhere for my food and drink and go back to it when I need it so my bottle can't go in there.

I don't want to rely on wearing clothes that have zip up pockets or something, it's easier just to have a cover with a bottle holder zip up pocket.

Fortunately JW and I went back at night with torches and found my bottle but I've been so much more careful since always putting my bottle into that little zip up side pocket straight after loading it with nuggets 😉

Other than that your cover is perfect and looks great.

My pants have two pockets. One for bottle only, the other for whatever. Problem solved.

I updated both my WSA II and WSA II-XL headphones to V1.1. I had trouble getting the WSA IIs to connect for the update, then I figured it out. You have to start with the WSA IIs in off (standby) mode. Then push and hold the minus button before you push and hold the + button for 12 seconds. After 10-12 seconds the light will be solid on (not flashing or pulsing) and you can connect the USB cable to the phones and then to the computer. Then it will let you click on connect and choose which update (V1.0 or V1.1) to download to the WSA II puck. If all goes well, it will show "Success" on the computer screen.

I tried to push bothe buttons at the same time and it wouldn't connect, so remember to push - button first. HTH

Same for the WSA ll XL. Start in the standby. If you follow the prompts in order your WSAll XL phones pair with the WS6 when you prepare it to update and when you have finished, the WSAll XL phones are still in the paired mode. Turn them off before you attempt the update and use the single cord to do so.

XP would like to express its gratitude to all users for providing valuable feedback following the release of version 1.0. We appreciate your input, and based on your feedback, we are pleased to introduce version 1.1:

    • Bug Fixes:

We have successfully resolved the issue of remote control rebooting or WS6 freezing in very rare configurations.

    • Other Improvements:

The FE.TID (Ferrous Target display) setting is now enabled by default. If you prefer not to display ferrous target IDs, you can turn off the FE.TID setting.
We have made corrections to the SILENCER function in programs P1, P2, P4, P5, and P6. Now, Silencer levels 0, 1, and 2 provide the same rejection as in V0.71, while higher levels from 3 offer better iron rejection. The program 3 SENSI FT uses different Silencer close to V1.0.

Again beach programs are not mentioned. I assume they are the same as P1.

i feel like I’m a bottom feeder looked down on and ignored. All I do is water hunt so it would be nice to be included in the videos and comments even though we are a small majority compared to the land hunters. My $1400.00 was just as green as the land guys lol. Sorry about my rant.

  7. I see that sharpshooter has received a response from XP on the silencer and are now aware of the issue. He says stay tuned.
It seems the old adage you can please some of the people some of the time but you can’t please all the people all the time applies with the new update.
Seems as if most are dwelling on the negatives and not the positives. Most, but not all. I guess the physicist just shake their heads when a layman such as myself complains not knowing, comprehending or understanding the complexity of such a miraculous work as the Deus ll. Give XP a break.

    It's not mine.
Just check for yourself, it doesn't have to be the exact configuration. You can use even one elevated iron item.

There are 4 videos on sharpshooters channel comparing silencer 2 in v.71 to v1.0 with the same coil. There does seem to be something going on. I believe he has notified Deus.

  9. My air test results with 85 white gold yellow gold men’s and women’s bands and diamond rings yielded (18) rings in the 60 > 69 TID range. 0@60, 1@61, 4@62, 0@63, 4@64 6@65, 0@66, 1@67, 2@68, 0@69.

The largest concentration of rings (50) fell in the 40>59 range. 5 pig rings fell in 84 & 85 range.

This was done indoors, Beach 24kHz 11” coil

  10. My previous post is incorrect as far as the numbers. I’m old and sorry.

pins 1 & 2 per this pin out of the male connector is for PWM and square tones.
pins 4 & 5 are for the bone phones square tones only. My friends black widows are wired to 4 & 5 ( bone phone connections ) thus his phones only work when the bone phone icon is selected and it limits him to square tones only.

  11. Pins 1 & 2 are for the bone phones. This will give you square tones only. It is not possible to have PWM off these pins. Pins 4 & 5 are for PWM and square tones and now with new update square high. 14 months ago, Beechnut cut the plug off a pair of bone phones I assume to try with his Excalibur’s. I really never asked him why but he did post a picture of the pin out for bone phones. Pins 1 & 2. I was building a set of phones for John Stone and discovered that in order to have PWM & square tones pins 4 & 5 needed to be used. In the mean time Carter was trying to use the connector and cord to build a set of gray ghost for the Deus. He reached out to me about the pin out and at that time I sent him a picture of the pin out but I’m not sure he understood at that point. A year or so later Midalake posted a picture of my pin out but had added pin #6 as a positive pin. That is not correct. I will be checking my friends black widows tomorrow, but I suspect they are wired for square tones only. Stay tuned.

I did not have any problems updating 2 pairs of them yesterday, but I did try to connect them today and could not. I was trying some other methods and ran into that. Could be because they were already updated 🤔

Went thru the update again last night, starting with step 3 plug into computer port and boom, update installed and phones paired with with RC and WS6 no problem. Maybe the update did not install the first time ? Another issue my friend has is, he has a set of black widow phones for the Deus, from detector pro. He swears that with version .71 they would work with both PWM and square tones but now with version 1.0, he only has square and is not able to use PWM or high square. Anyone out there got a set of these phones? I suspect they never did use PWM as he had only a few days before update and was still starting the learning curve. I will check the wiring on the pins today.

Nah, they're using OVH for hosting and web services that would have been doing it all for them, 3rd biggest cloud computing company in the world and based in France, they have no issues with bandwidth, they could easily handle pumping that little firmware update to multi millions of people, way more than required it,  it seemed to be more of a DNS propagation time frame problem with different DNS servers around the world taking time to sync, they needed to go live a bit sooner but not announce it to give time for propagation to take place.

All good, it's all resolved now and happy owners should be updating with no issues.

I would like to see an upgrade to the extremely hard to remove and replace rear cap. Square threads and a bit tougher material would help. I've replaced one and bought spares. I expect to replace more on the MI-6.

Hahaha I thought it was my old age lol. A pair of slip joint pliers and mine comes right off !!! Hand tighten plier loosen !!! No problem with the threads.

  15. I guess I’m one of the lucky ones. I keep my pointer on my shovel handle and drag it with my left hand and detect right handed. It is only after I drop down and set my Deus to the side do I retrieve and turn on the pointer. Connects every time. I luv my Mi 6
