Most all my sticker ID’s. have faded on the coils and due to the replacement of parts, even the machine vs the test reports don’t match. I suspect that Fisher will rely on date of purchase information for warranty work. Not to worry about that. Quality control and length of replacement time are the issues. Alexandre is in France no where near Texas lol so I imagine this is frustrating for him as well.

I think the design is good when the clevis is left hollow. It is the material that it is made of that is the issue I think. It should not be hard plastic but should be more like Lexan or a nylon composite material. The ZPT technology may take more stress off the coil ears and apply it to the lower shaft. The traditional clevis mounts between to coil ears with rubber washers that allow a certain amount of flex laterally where as the ZPT is ridged and has no flex. JMHO. Change the material it is made of. Good luck everybody and those on the east coast, brace yourself for gas lines 😡.

My machine also refuses to power on intermittently. And also at times will not power off. In the beginning some machines had difficulty connecting the negative cap to the negative post. Some loosened the screw, some placed a washer behind. Evidently that has not fixed your friends issue. Whatever the issue I wish him the best. I hope he or you keeps us posted. My warranty is long gone and I own other detectors so it’s not a life or death issue for me.

I admit Dimitar has always been helpful and has treated me fairly. I will reach out to him in time once I do a few more test. Thank you

Thank you for your sarcastic remark ! If you would reread my post I am waiting on another machine with the same issue.

As you may remember I had two Tarsacci’s. The one I sold saw a lot of Bay time in the water. This one has never been under but only knee deep in the wash. It is my fresh drop choice of machines. The AQ is my water machine or my VALLON. As I said before and you asked me when we first got the Tarsacci, does yours power up when you install a fresh battery ? And yes most of the time or it will at least light the screen momentarily. Anyway, since when I install the battery I can hear the phones crackle or power up but a blank screen, I have not tried a target at that point to see if I get an audio response. I thought at first it might be heat related but yesterday was 65 degrees so that is not the problem. I have not talked to Dimitar yet though about a repair. I know of one more Tarsacci whose age is close to mine #11 that has the same issue and has been sent to Dimitar for repair last week I believe. He reached out to me via PM as he did not want to post on the forum. I am waiting on his results. One thing I have noticed is that this problem only shows up after it has been on for several hours. It acts normal on cold start ups and power downs. Funny about the Excalibur one year warranty. I own 5 total and 2 are Swords that work perfectly lol. That is one hell of a machine.

No warranty. Shortest out there I think. 18 months !

Once again today my Tarsacci would not turn off. You could feel the tactile switch clicking but no effect. I finally removed the battery cap and turned it off. I reinstalled the battery cap and could hear static in my phones as the cap negative made contact but a blank screen. I pushed and pushed and pushed the on switch to no avail. After removing the battery cap several more times each time reapplying I could hear the static in the phones but no screen. Finally upon installing the cap it came to life. I did notice that the salt balance was not acting as normal also in all frequencies. Keep in mind I have used this machine regularly for two years so I know it fairly well. This only started when I installed the new 12” coil. That is the only difference. I will put the stock coil back on and give it a go.

Would This Set Up Work For Wireless Minus The Pp

Don’t see why not. I would check Z link also. -

Well there is another Tarsacci running around in south Chesapeake. Nice to meet you. -
Another Good Day In The Iron With The Tarsacci
Carolina replied to Dug2gld's topic in Tarsacci Metal Detectors
It has never given me a problem in water or out before. I’m almost scared to turn it on again lol. I believe we are quite close to one another if your the gentleman who detects in parts of Chesapeake for relics. All my friends got to old to dig in the dirt so I moved on to water hunting. Like I posted the machine is two years old now so out of warranty. -
Another Good Day In The Iron With The Tarsacci
Carolina replied to Dug2gld's topic in Tarsacci Metal Detectors
My Tarsacci has covid. Today at the beach I started off by turning on my machine. It was in 6.4 frequency so I moved it up to 9. I ground balanced then salt balanced. Set all my controls and off I went. My friend had his CTX. After a couple hours damp, wet sand and knee deep wash we stopped to compare notes. My Tarsacci would not turn off. Push the button, push the button on and on with same result. So I thought better it won’t turn off than not turn on,so we resumed the spin. About two hours later, time to leave same issue. Only once I moved the frequency back to 6.4 did it turn off. When I got to the car I tried to turn it back on and nothing. When I got home, I tried again in all frequencies and still nothing . At the end of the spin the power indicator was at three bars. So now I decided to remove the end cap and reinstall. Boom, like a lot of times before, when putting in a battery it turned on. So I turned it off and back on 3 times successfully. I will leave well enough alone for now. The only difference from now to the past two years is I was running the new 12” coil rather than the stock one. Anyone else experience such a phenomenon ? Good luck everybody and take care. -
I don’t think any shaft will hold up to being a crutch. Coil ears as well. Don’t see the 12 1/2” coil ears ever breaking on the Impulse but the new clevis design may now apply pressure differently on the shaft. I’m sure that Fisher will come up with a solution though. Give me that Minelab ISO rod “ clevis “ any day !
-
Cuniagau, man that sux. I feel your pain. I hope Felix is on top of this for you ! I agree with midalake. I also have already read of others breaking. In my opinion the clevis shaft should be a bit longer and if they are hell bent on pins for movement go with only the top pin. It clearly broke at the pin. I think I read they were going to fill with epoxy but just like your bones the tube should be stronger hollow. Not to cast sand but Minelab has the strongest ISO rod going I think. Longer insertion into shaft, and no pins. Maybe a different type plastic or nylon composite. I have heated and removed many Minelab clevis to reinstall in longer CF lower shafts I make and only use waterproof epoxy to cement in place. Clearly they have an issue that they should look at. JMHO . Good luck everybody and super moon getting tides off well here in Virginia.

Any Word On Shipment Of Coiltek 10 X 5 Coils?
Carolina replied to relicmeister's topic in Minelab Equinox Forum
Thanks Chuck but this is more of a balance issue. I have no issues with a 18” coil on my straight stick behind the shoulder Excalibur or even my new Impusle with a 12 1/2” coil as they are well balanced. Yes running the coil close to your feet helps. I think that using a slightly more expensive lightweight potting material and or daming off the coil spokes or supports would have been nice. Thanks again for your input. -
Any Word On Shipment Of Coiltek 10 X 5 Coils?
Carolina replied to relicmeister's topic in Minelab Equinox Forum
Thanks but I feel being tethered to the machine uncomfortable as well. As age crept up on me my CTX became an issue so I bought a set up for it. After awhile that became bothersome so I put the CTX down as well. I probably should sell it as well. Thanks for all the tips though. -

My 15” came in a bag packed in a box with lots of bubble wrap. Serious Detecting. Sadly it is to heavy for my shoulder and after two hours I have to stop. Old age and arthritis sux. Guess I might be selling it. Sorry you guys got what I would call pitiful service. Anything to make a buck. -
What’s Wrong With This AQ Picture?
Carolina replied to okara gold's topic in First Texas - Bounty Hunter, Fisher & Teknetics
The 8” cable gland should be in front the same as the 12.5”:coil. There is some concern on stressing the cable if folded flat for transportation so take note of that. -
Fisher Impulse AQ In Production
Carolina replied to LE.JAG's topic in First Texas - Bounty Hunter, Fisher & Teknetics
I don’t think First Texas has any control over the exchange rate or duty fees. I sent one of my AQ’s to a friend in the UK. Listed it as used for repair to avoid the import fee. $98.00 one way. -
Limited Going International?
Carolina replied to Steve Herschbach's topic in First Texas - Bounty Hunter, Fisher & Teknetics
He would have been better off with USPS. Looks like he used UPS and shipped Thru DHL Express. I shipped a VALLON 12” coil and lower rod for a VALLON for $85 to Australia with USPS. Still crazy high. -
I too got the mail but it did not bother me in the least. The limited the way I see it was just that. A limited addition put in the hands of those who wanted it, so they could gain insight from the actual people who use such a machine and to put the information to use in the unlimited version. It seems that is what they have done. Weighed all the responses and changed the things that we in the field suggested. So I don’t think calling it a semi-finished design is the correct description. That’s just my way of looking at it. I am sorry to hear that some had some bad experiences with the AQ and Fisher. It’s sad but it happens with all products and as far as Fishers response to my issues I could not have been treated any better. I do hope in the end everyone is satisfied and I wish you all good luck in the coming season. ”Carolina”

I got one also and I already bought two haha. They must be going down the old list. That’s good though I think. Hi Dew, Joe has his grandkids down so he is off the radar a bit. I’m sure he might take a min to check in just not regular. I would call Fisher and ask them. I am not sure how they are selling them. The way my mail read was $1499 for the AQ, one battery, phones and standard coil and $299 for the additional 8” coil. Both coils work well and have there place as you know. I think I saw a post by someone here using his 8” coil and said that it was deep. I always am scared to give depth in inches as I water hunt mostly and i use 3 scoops deep or whatever. Maybe I’m off a bit so it’s a guessing game sorta. Anyway the other guy says it’s deep. Joe loaned me his to give a shot but I have not done any air test with it. With all the gold down your way, I would think you could buy the limited and get it paid for by the time the newer machine shows up and then decide what to do. What I can say now, is that I am very happy with my AQ and noise is not a problem for me. Good luck to everybody.
