  1. Hey nice Zincolns Ha Ha. Great ring and the diamonds are a big plus. going slow pays off, most guys are looking to cash out quickly. You might think about moving, Your going to have that state picked clean in no time ๐Ÿค”๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚
  2. Looks like a worlds fair bracelet charm. You guy's had one in 1895. (An International Exhibition in Hobart). Maybe some visitors brought it over as a gift from New York. I might be wrong but it's my best guess without better detail. Cool find, I love the stuff that makes you wonder and your brain hurt.
  3. I didn't think I would find coin like that in my entire life and at that site. Sadly the old place is slated for demo and will be replace with the typical modern crap houses. I was surprised at the price of the coin also, seems to be worth only gold weight. But man it sure is a pretty little coin. Maybe today I'll find its big brother Ha Ha Ha.
  4. A couple of days ago I returned to a late 18th century homestead that has been disappointing in the past. I've always felt like there was something good to be found around the house, but the best I could do were a few wheaties and a ton of iron and aluminum. I had about an hour and decided to hit it again. Same old thing right before I left I found a 41 wheat 6 inches under a 2 inch piece of flagstone walkway (thought that was great). A day went by and while building a pergola in my back yard and nearly cutting part of my thumb in half, I had enough of construction and decided to go back one more time before leaving that place on my do not return list. I found the usual iron, aluminum and trash. Then I dug an old Larkins cold cream lid and some other cool stuff and felt like things were getting better. About 40 minutes later I decided to hunt the old front yard very close to the road, I never hit this section before. Lots and lots of aluminum so I moved to the old rotten front entry with more flagstone. It seemed amazingly quite until I got a 28-32, hit odd numbers for me but it was very strong. I started digging on another crappy target, so I thought and at about 6 inches I found a 1908 Indian head 2 1/2 dollar gold coin!!!!!!! I'm a pretty strong fellow but I almost teared up from joy. I doubt that I will ever top this find and would be happy with just that. Needless to say I might have to hit the old site just a few more times. I hope all of you enjoy seeing the coin as much as I do.
  5. Hard to tell but looks like you found some window sash chain, Possibly brass? Gold ring is cool too Ha Ha. Man I hate the heat, God bless you for the dedication!!!
  6. Kac, Glad to hear you got a few orders for the digger. I'm pretty sure those people will be very impressed with it. It's not very often you find a great product. Good luck in the future!!! I'll be contacting you with an order for a taller version.
  7. Great job GB, I don't find to many nickles these days, but I find plenty of the trash Zincolns. It's been a bunch of years since my last buffalo. Digging the beaver tails makes you hate yourself until you find something golden, Then you forget all the crappy targets you dig. On a bad day I dig two pounds of aluminum. Overall I think you had a great day out.
  8. You won't be up sh**s creek here Canoe. Glad you joined in with us. Can't wait to see some of your finds and help you with your questions.
  9. Welcome Optix, You dropped in on the best minelab site on the old interweb. If you need advice or answers your in the right spot. I'm looking forward to hearing about your adventures. Good luck !!!
  10. Try using some pet grade window screen (larger holes than normal), Cut to size and tape on. Works like a charm. Or get yourself an aviators helmet Ha Ha
  11. Welcome Java, You have found a great place to be, Filled with great people and great information. We all here at DP love to share tricks, techniques and our finds. I wish you great luck on your detecting adventures.
  12. Great to have you here on DP Mike, I hope to see some of your dirt treasure posted soon. Oh and the girls will out detect all of us, so be prepared to take some heat. Glad your here my friend.
  13. I would like to introduce to you my new favorite hand digger. After about three weeks of detecting, I have come to love this new digger I have come across. It's small, light weight (about 10 1/2 oz.) and super strong. The handle design is not your typical T handle, It is reversed and angled for better leverage while digging. Great for some of us with bad hands and It's made from heat treated Chromoly steel. The edges are serrated and the tip is perfectly designed and sharp. The handle has a bed liner type grip and 3/4 inch tubing. The blade is 2 1/4 inches wide and 6 inches long. The overall length is about 12 1/2 inches at its longest measurement. This guy has figured out what diggers are supposed to be. I added a custom paint job and paracord /carabiner clip, The paint job is holding up better than I thought and In my opinion this is one of the best diggers I have ever used. Well where do you get one????? Lucky for you members here, It's made Here in the USA by one of our great members Kac. He makes them on a limited basis and Quantity so be aware that there are only so many to be had at a given time. Kac will give you all the details on pricing and shipping if you PM him.
  14. Welcome Caretaker, Glad you can share some of your knowledge with us DP members. I might have a few bottle questions for you in the future.
  15. I'm not a line guy so I usually let other guys do the research, and make my decision after the smoke clears. But I always find myself drifting back to my older stuff and wondering why I bought some of the impulse buys ( bad thing to do). Bottom line is we all think that something might be better, when its really not. Fancy racing stripes do not make a race car. 9 times out of 10 its the place your are hunting and not the machine. No silver, No gold, No stuff, No find with any machine!! I do wish Garret well with the apex and hope its a home run. Any Mfg that's still competing in the market is a great thing for all of us. Multiple detector choices are a wonderful option for us new toy driven enthusiast.
  16. I dig at least 3 or 4 flattened beer and soda cans at 12 inches every time I go out. Don't get discouraged, its part of the excitement!!!. If you want a really great hand digger PM our member Kac, He makes one of the best I have ever come across. It's tempered steel and almost as light as plastic. Please show us the good and the bad, its all part of the game. Good luck on your future hunts!!!!
  17. Welcome back to the fun Rick. Its just like riding a bike, you never forget. Glad you joined in with us, you won't be disappointed.
  18. There's a hole in my pocket dear Liza, dear Liza a hole. I believe you have come across the Pirate booty of the 20th century. I'm thinking you might be in a good spot to find the jewelry. Do your hips hurt from all the coin weight???? Good for you my friend!!!!
  19. your collection looks like mine, If I could just fill one with rings I'd be in business.
  20. Quarters I love Quarters!!!! They help pay for the adventure. I have snagged about 6 to 10 every trip out. When the days get rough you will wish you could find some George coinage Ha Ha Damn I hate mosquitoes, Horrible blood suckers๐Ÿค•
  21. Glad you have jumped on the DP train. There are lots and lots of great people and information here. Just shoot out some questions and everyone here will point you in the right direction, whether coin hunting or prospecting you will get some great ideas on how to pursue the tools of the trade. I haven't been to Yuma in a long time and imagine its still hot and dry, nice place to live though.
  22. Sorry to here about all that stuff. You will not have to pay storage fees, local and county governments contract with towing company's to remove stolen property and to store it. Also most have impound yards to store stolen items and vehicles. The only way you would be responsible would be if was towed from a private or govt. lot. Most district courts would find in your favor for not incurring these kinds of charges. In the future invest in some GPS trackers that you can hide on your stuff, not that expensive. I'm not sure if your OK with carrying a gun, but I would certainly consider it in remote places. Nobody wants to give their life to a crack head without a fight. I wish you the best on getting your stuff back. Also file a complaint with your local district attorneys office and state attorney generals office on how said property was allowed to be returned to the wrong people. If no response reach out to your local state representative. They can be very help full in cases like these. And for the love of god don't give up!!!!! Call until they give you some answers on why you have to pay for your stolen items. If that doesn't work bash them on facebook or twitter (gentleman like), and I guarantee you will have it resolved quickly, They know the power of social media. Last but not least contact your insurance company to see if they can help you out. I wish you the best with the outcome, please let us know how it works out.
  23. That's some awesome stuff there Joe. I would love to do some beach hunting but only get the chance once or twice a year. With 46 gold and 46 silvers I think I will start calling you Pirate Joe!! Has a nice ring to it, (Pun intended)
