  1. No worries Steve. I'll give it a good go. But not until it gets a bit cooler. Pretty hot in the old Central Victoria this time of year.Another Month or two it will be fine. I'll be all over the place then. Good health to you Steve...Regards... Ronnie.
  2. Hi. Steve. Yes it's interesting how these machines excel at some things and not others. the one thing I have found with the T2 is that it is a way better machine in All Metal Mode than Discrim. In Discrim. Mode it does not like our $1 gold coin. I buried a 5...10...20...50 cent and a $1 coin. The 5 cent is quite small and was still picked up reasonably well. But the big chunky $1?. Could not hear it or sometimes one way but not the return sweep. But in All Metal.? Everything was in your face big time even with the coil off the ground several inches. I also noticed big differences in the multi tone programs. people need to be aware that in some of these programs a target that sounded in one may not sound at all in another. I assume it is to do with the way the filtering has been set up. I found you really need to practice with some known targets to find out exactly what is happening in the discrim. programs and what targets you may not hear in some of them. Personally I will always detect in AM unless in very rubbishy areas. The T2 is very powerful in this mode. The Video by the way was one continuous shot so I don't think there were any edits. Each person switched his machine on and GBd it and swept the target. It was to my eyes a pretty convincing and fair comparison, but I agree with what you're saying. Some of em are a bit dodgy. Anyway Steve It's always a pleasure to talk with you as your advice is always on the money and you are a credit to the Detecting community....Regards...Ronnie.
  3. Hi. Steve and all. Just out of interest Steve. There is a utube clip of a few guys in a cow paddock in the uk testing a T2 upgraded ...a Whites V3i...I think a gold Bug... and some guy askes if he can test his XP Deus on the same target which is a small sliver of gold. They don't state the weight but looks a few grams to me. They plant it around 7 inches deep and try the machines. The V3i gives no response despite being in the higher freq. gold mode. The Gold bug gets it pretty good. The XP Deus in prospecting mode barely gets it.( No surprise to me cause I had one and loved it, but found it was not good on small gold). The absolute clear winner with a very positive signal even with the coil a few inches off the ground was the T2. Now my point is...the T2 is only 13khz, but clearly outdid the competition in exactly the same conditions. Can't remember but they might have had a G2 there as well. But whatever, the test was clearly conclusive. They then bury the same sample sideways so the soil is undisturbed and the result was still spectacular with the T2. Now as you know I live in the mineralized land of OZ so obviously I don't expect quite that good a result, but am interested to know your always productive and useful thoughts on this......Regards to all....Ronnie.
