  1. Thanks for sharing mate. Rip Snorta of a Z find. :)

Don't know if you into questions as I know you coped a lot of unfair crap in my opinion  on some of our Aussie forums,But I do have one if you find time to answer.

Gold mode and Ground Type was General/Difficult, Sensitivity on 12 and Audio Smoothing at OFF. These are the best settings for large deep gold (1 oz+) in the noisy ground in Victoria's Golden Triangle.

I hunt in the Warwick Queensland Australia area as it's the closest Gold fields to me ( 3 hour drive) Our ground out there is highly mineralized in dry conditions, worse in wet.

I run my GPZ 7000 to those conditions using mainly these settings ( listed below) to do other wise I get several lots of ground noise with each swing making it impossible to distinguish a good target. That is unless I enable Sever or smoothing which I feel would give me less depth.Any advise from you  would be greatly appreciated.

  2. Dug this one a few days later with the Zed  same settings. But with a lot of ground noise with just a touch of a wirey deep sound if you know what I mean.

It was 12 inches down in hot ground first photo is of the clump of clay the Gold Grammer is in.

  3. mineralized

Great nugget but Monday gets a bit busy. I looked earlier but have been on the run all day.

Can you share any details about the find? Ground conditions, depth, settings?

We have had a few storms over the last few months which I think helped. This 1.7 gram nugget I detected at around 5 inches deep where a large tree had fallen over.  The roots had been torn out of the ground at it's base and there she was.

Where I hunt the ground is really hot BTW ( Highly mineralized )

  4. Back down here in Australia I'm reading and hearing a lot of negatives on the GPZ 7000.

I don't mind at all because I'm just going out and finding these with mine :D

I will admit however there is much to learn.

  5. Letting you? Thank you very much for joining!

This is a place for people to have fun and be able to enjoy discussing or even bragging about their detector. Down talk and negative crap people can take elsewhere.

There is nothing I hate more when I am detecting than negativism. It is hard enough to keep a positive attitude when it is raining and I am not finding gold without having to listen to somebody bitch.

So yes, let's have fun and share the excitement. That is what detecting is all about for me and my wish for everyone here is to experience that also. Every detector I ever get I am the kid at Christmas time with the toy in the box and a big smile. Best of luck to you with your new toy!

    Onya mate

Only got off the phone yesterday with a fellow Minelab Treasure talk tester of yours.Re the GPZ 7000

You guys are amazing with the amount of free time knowledge and expertize you so willingly give on forums and to Minelab. Only at times to be ( if you pardon the pun ) Dammed if you do dammed if you don't by some members.

I quite simply was taught by my folks if you don't have nothing nice to say then don't say anything.

    cheers

  6. First off thank you Steve for letting me join your forum :)

Just thought I'd share  my excitement

I pick up my GPZ 7000 Monday morning. As I know my supplier, I have been lucky enough to unpack it put it together and charge the battery.  ( what a beast )

Cant wait for Monday morning as I'll be on the way straight out to the Gold fields.
