  1. Hey Guys, That's what I got with the TDI SL. Seems like the hot spot is dead center, under the shaft. Not under the sticker. Let you know how it performs. Seems about as sensitive as the 7.5" Round DF. Take care.
  2. Aloha All, Thank you so very much for all of the awesome responses. All with such great technical information! Going out in the field tomorrow, so I'll use the battery pack as my primary and the NiMh just as a backup The upgrades need to wait until next week. Let you know if i find any "shiny." Stay safe.
  3. Thanks. If the NiMh is only 10.99 and the Lithium at 14.46 is 3.47 VDC higher, I'd think so, but I can't say for certain because I haven't done any tests. GB_Amateur says that Lithiums lose that peak voltage quickly. But if the RnB has 14 VDC, I'll order one tomorrow. 🙂
  4. Thanks! So the RnB Innovations LI-ion battery pack putting out 3,100 mAh would be a large improvement over the factory battery pack? It's about $149. My detector was just shipped from White's factory about a month ago with the 12"x8" Hi-Q and 7.5" coils...I just wish it already had the latest battery power technology.
  5. Hey All, Measured White's TDI SL factory battery packs and discovered the following differences. NiMh Battery - HD #802-5321, 2200 mAh. After full a charge, one day later..........................................10.99 VDC AA Battery Holder - #802-7150, 8 cell. With Nuon Industrial Alkaline from White's Factory............12.94 VDC With Member's Mark Alkaline from Sam's Club...................12.96 VDC With Energizer Ultimate Lithium...........................................14.46 VDC Was very surprised that with Alkaline batteries, the tested voltage was higher than with the NiMh battery pack. Also, the NiMh battery pack seems to drop about 0.05 VDC a day. But the clear winner are the Energizer Ultimate Lithium batteries at 14.46 VDC! Stay Safe!
  6. Thanks Jeff, Serious Detecting has the 17x11 in stock and on sale for about $262.75. They said a few were sold and customers seem to have favorable things to say about Coiltek products, but SD didn't tell me anything more specific. Although Coiltek says the Minelab coils are compatible, I also don't know how the ones specifically for White's Detectors are different. Take care.
  7. Hey Guys! Thank you so very much for your input. I already have a Minelab GM1000 (Usually w/ the 5" coil) for sensitive pickup of the small stuff. So I was hoping the TDI SL could see a little deeper and pick up some larger stuff. That's why the question about the Coiltek 17x11. Also have the White's 12"x8" DD and the 7.5" round DD coils too. If I could have jumped into the SDC-2300 or GPX-5000 level, I might not be trying to tweak the best out of the TDI SL. But since already here, I have faith and we'll see how it goes. 🙂 The 17x11 is on sale and I'll make a decision to purchase or pursue the SteelPHASE SP01 Sound Enhancer. Stay Safe.
  8. Hi All, Has anyone tried the Coiltek 17x11 Mono on the White's TDI SL? Would really appreciate any feedback on it's performance. Also, the Coiltek 14" round for the TDI? If positive, I'll order one and report my findings in a couple of weeks. Maybe the battery mod later... Also checking on the SteelPHASE SP01 to enhance the audio...they said it would help. https://www.coiltek.com.au/coils/whites-tdi/17-x-11-whites-tdi-mono/ Much appreciated, LStart
