  1. Thanks for the input. If I knew the impedance and amplification requirements, I could try to amplify them, but it seems like a lot of work. I see an XP armband for the previous version of the Deus. Might be worth a try.
  2. Jeff - your answer suggests that the Deus 2 RC can be used as a slave when the WS6 is used as a master? Are there instructions somewhere? I could live with that setup. I could also live with making an adapter for the bone phones to go to the the WS6. I already attempted to try the bone phones with the nox. It worked with a small amp, but there still wasn't enough power to make the phones usable. In any case, I have that adapter built. I took the Deus 2 out for a field test with the bone phones today, and found recovery difficult being tethered to the machine. Had to continually adjust the bone phones on my head. Need a solution that allows me to wear them and view the VDI. I'm moderately hearing impaired, and the only solution I've found is to wear over the ear phones and wrap my hearing aids in small balloons so I don't short them out when I start to perspire. It's not the best, but it works. Thanks!
  3. I also have hearing loss and would love to be able to do this, but I tend to sweat - and even with covers for the hearing aids, I would only be able to hunt for 20 minutes. I'm looking for a solution like a portable digital EQ that I can boost the signal range for my loss pattern similar to the way hearing aids work, and I would like to keep the wireless option. Any suggestions appreciated. I know that there are EQ apps for smartphones that might work - but I'd need to pair the phone with the equinox and the wireless headphones to the phone, and I'm not sure about the lag. Also not sure how long the phone would last. Some apps draw enough energy to overheat the phone quickly when it's 100 degrees out. And there's also the issue of making sure it has the right APT-X version. Does anyone use this kind of rig to deal with hearing loss?
  4. Thanks! Haven't been back to the place I had the issue yet, but I did take this all into account and visited a place I've been a few times before that has some noisy spots and plenty of junk This helped a lot. I used the 6" coil, was able to ground balance with no issues, then noise cancelled pointing at the power lines. Machine was stable and quiet, and I picked up 30 coins - majority were zinc cents - but I did find a small ol der sterling ring right by the sidewalk. Success!
  5. Sorry if this should be two different posts. Both these issues popped up yesterday at the same site. In fact, the front of the property had a section with overhead electrical wires, a sewer drain in the street past the sidewalk, constant chatter in all-metal, and chatter in both Park 1 and Park 2 despite noise reduction and attempts to ground balance (may have been EMF, as chatter reduced away from the lines). I'll return with the 6" coil, but this seems like something proper knowledge of settings could ameliorate. I'm less than 6 months with the Nox. Ground Balance I do better when I ground balance, but what do I do when I can't find a signal free area in all-metal to perform the auto ground balance routine? Should I attempt to manual ground balance? Or set to zero? Working around sidewalks Loud response from sidewalks - sometimes from a foot and a half away all along, or in intervals. I've tried swinging parallel as well as perpendicular. Sometimes the effect is reduced with the 6" coil, but not always enough. Should I be reducing sensitivity? Any general tip for the Nox around sidewalks? Thanks In Advance!
  6. I had a merc last week at an inch or less bouncing from 21 - to 24. And I've seen deep wheats (in nice shape) read into the 30's, but usually there's iron close by.
