I am not a headphone guy , dont like wearing them dont like the fact that i cant hear whats going on around me , but i tried out the wireless headphone on the ORX, and was amazed at how nice they are and simple and yet i can hear my suroundings and i dont get all sweaty, and the sound is great , and if you really want a cool sound keep the speeker on and the headphones it sounds like suround sound stereo sound . you hear the lows clearly , and hear i figured they may have been a cheep joke, but now that i have used them i give them a A+

took the ORX to cut nail hill , and if it didnt suprize me . it found a Old rimfire shell casing amongst the iron that the Equinox missed with the 6" coil i was using coin deep and got a nice mid tone amognst the iron and the shell came up so it really has proved itself , and i dont even know how to use it yet . the build quality is very good , yes its light , it could not get my 10" deep dime in any frequincy but it handled the 8" dime with a diggable signal no VDI the 6" dime got VDI, my dirt has some iron in it but i think i have alot to learn , but it really does do good in the nails , Kinda like it

Just ordered a new ORX with the X 35 coil , box comes says on outside all parts inside, I open it up and everything is in but the battery and cord that goes into the lower shaft. I see batterys for sale but no one sells the cord that you have to string thrue that ataches to the battery. what to do

say i have seen no depth testing with the Apex, and field trails are on the best metal detecting sites in the world with most items ,NOT deep , I get a bit angry, when they do this , bring the detector to my field, and area, where just about nothing but cut nails , , no its gotta be tested on a colonial site in new england that is loaded and it make the machine seem like its really good just because its on a good spot . I would like to see some depth comparisons and nails tests .

its just an old brass shotgun shell , but if you knew how hammered this spot is you would be impressed to . Took the 600 and small coil out to iron hill and nver exepted it to pull another target out of this pounded spot but it did, i was using the 6" coil and had it in park 1 sweep speed 3, and 0 iron bias , all metal and you get low and high tones of the ends of the cut nails but only in one derection. wel in the mist of this mayhem i got a mid tone but was weak in one derection but becuase it seems more solid i dug it and from 6" down comes a very old brass shot shell . wich blew me away because ive hit this spot so hard its a grassy ovel about 30ft long and 25 ft wide just amazed

I see that the coil itself has a battery, in it ? question how hard is it to replace one , or is it even possible ?

found a masked musket ball , with the TDI and the folowing setting GB-3.5- pulse delay17 US conductivity switch in low gaine of 6 I got this setting off this forum and it works i had just gone over the very spot several times from several derection this past week with the Equinox and the small coil but it took the TDI to find this . up came the cut nails 1st and then still getting a high tone up comes the musket ball

Yes your ground may have alot to do with it , in my soil i found better response in multi, especially in park 1 field 1 which are low Khz weighted. but that iron rich clay could change that its nice to have the optoins
-
was amazed at how the TDI could get this nickle thru this iron wire

I have a spot of ground full of cut nails and i have been over it until nothing but nails is what you hear well i put the 6" coil on the Equinox 600 and it found a brass suspender thing , i was shocked , I have been over the spot multiple times with multiple detectors i was hunting in park1 with a gain of 22 and a sweep speed of 3 and a 0 iron bias, and after some time i got a solid 15 VDI and up comes a brass thing with an Elephant on it . All I have to say is this coil proved it is worth getting
