  1. It says inside under the heart and crown IRELAND , and another mark inside the thin band but i cant read it
  2. After my Job interview went south, I went metal detecting , and I have another offer to rake some leaves for extra cash , so I prayed that if i should do that leaf raking that God would give me a sighn and let me find a gold ring today, and I did. had to XP ORX set up in coin deep , 70 gain 6 disc and 2.5 sweep speed at 17.2khz and at the 1st spot i was hunting , I got the thinking I should take a break and then go to another spot I have been to many time but never found any rings . I found a big chunk of iron and after it was out i got a quarter Hit , other wise someone had dug the cladd out pretty good , I was finding lots of tabs and foil , thats a good sign a ring could in theory be in the ground , and I got a signal 62 on the meter and expecting a tab, up comes a nice Gold cladda ring , marked Ireland inside. and another mark i cant read its a bit worn , but its pretty clear its not bling or plated its small but still weighing in at 2.4 grams. In the last picture you can see the big iron bolt that i dug out and after that an old crusty quarter was heard , yes it was masked ,someone else had stripped all the clad so i was luckey to get that quarter , but it was clearly masked
  3. I liked the Tarsacci, the way it could reject foil , I sold it cuz i had to pay my car insurance and i never got to a beach . And i was hunting tot lots where my ORX excelled
  4. Hopefully they fixed the leaking problems, it may be a good water detector , and that 50% more power to the coil under water would not be afected by EMI so I bet its a deep water machine, but using a fast recovery under water when you cant swing the thing fast under water is a problem I would use a slower sweep speed if using it in water
  5. I showed starting out at 7 disc how a in ground live target was not heard until i put the disc back and i had not gone over this using this setting and was getting no new targets untill i did 3 things . 1, up the frequincy from 8.4 to 17.2 , No2, increase the reactivity past 2 . and No,3 dile back the disc from 7 to 5.5 and this spot came alive again.
  6. ys i see an out going wave would lift it up , unless you faced along the lenght of the shore
  7. A round shaft creates turbulence and drag when swinging thru water , this tires out the detectorist, but the answer swims buy him in the water , coils with openings and 90 degree angles create more turbulence under water this creates more resistance . so shy not make the shaft like a sharks tail feathering to a sharp point so you can swing the shaft and coil thru the water with ease from left to right , and the coil should be like a stingray , no openings but feathered out on the edge, hope you can understand my crude drawing , it would help that shaft and coil just glide thru the water
  8. Ice cream eaten every day is loathed, but ice cream one day a week is a treat
  9. and by the way I am using the XP ORX in the FINEGOLD program but with my settings of 17.2 khz, 80 gain, 2.5 recovery speed, 2 IAR, and i can tell even when i have a bread tie under the coil , or a bottle cap I like to dig alot of Iron on purpose, to clean things up and maybe see if somthing is masked, only when i run out of energy do i get pickey and just dig the 95- or 92 and so on
  10. Out looking for Gold rings again today, mostly trash exept for a few coins, but they add up fast I almost have 100.00 again in coins, and the rest is trash .Looking for Gold rings is like investing in the stock market, you just have to keep at it and eventually it will pay off, if you sell because the market goes down , you will not make money , and if i quit because i only find junk 6 days in a row you have to keep at it cuz the big ring is out in that field just waiting to be found , maybe under a bottle cap , or amongst the pull tabs and Can slaw and foils , mostly disappointment, but good exercise.
  11. what KHz, thats great i find a lot of detectorists leave the nickles
  12. Tex, yes to limit depth and get better modulation, now in real trashy spots i lower the gain to 64 but like at 70 the quarters 8" deep give a nice wisper
  13. like i say i wanted to get the deus 2 but am way to broke, so that forced me to use the ORX . but i am not disapointed, I can only say the more time i give this ORX the more i like it , in fact i want to buy another one its just a great machine
  14. Today on the way to the bank, I had to make a deposit because my pin pointer broke, so I need a new one so I stopped to look for Gold and instead found two silvers, the merc suprized me because i was not looking for silver , I had dug 17 dimes and one was silver and also found a nice sterling ring with what looks like a black onyx stone. I was hunting with my ORX in coin deep ,17.2 khz, 2 sweep speed, 7 disc, and 70 gain also found a 1937 dime
  15. one was a 1937 dime Today on the way to the bank, I had to make a deposit because my pin pointer broke, so I need a new one so I stopped to look for Gold and instead found two silvers, the merc suprized me because i was not looking for silver , I had dug 17 dimes and one was silver and also found a nice sterling ring with what looks like a black onyx stone
  16. Strick, you may be very close to the truth, It could be a human just as you said , I did find it in a tot lot
  17. Well the other detectors only left me a few coins, but no one was digging the tabs and the junk foils and can slaw, or zinc pennys so I had my XP -ORX in coin deep 17.2khz 70gain and 2 on recovery speed, digging all tabs and junk foils and i got a very low number 48-49 wich can be gatorade tops and foils and small can slaw but up came this brass looking thing, but it seemed heavy so i put it in my pocket and finished the day thinking i got nothing but bling , but when i got home I seen the 14k stamp on the back , and weighed it 3.25 grams of 14 k gold , I suppose when dogs spar in a dog park , they go for the neck and thats when sabastion lost his collar and in the shock of the moment both owners moved away from each other leaving this nice Gold Dog pendant , and i was dumb enough to be digging the junk foils and found it
  18. I suck at finding silver , so i geared up everything to find Gold , and its working, stopped using low Khz and went up to the high, changed where i hunt and what i dig Now if I ever get on an old house site i will give silver a try . but Im not looking for it anymore, if i find a silver coin its by chance
  19. found a nice old signet ring 18k I have only a side shot ,only the owner will know what is engraved on the top, and inside of the ring I will be making an attempt to find who owns this ring, I was using my ORX detector, in coin fast,17.2khz, and a 2 recovery speed and gain turned down to 80 ,it gave a VDI of 65 same as all the pull tabs, the pencil erasers where cumming in at the 70,s digging all the zincs the other detector guys left me this is now the 4th gold ring this year for me and one silver . Also the butter fly pendant is marked 925 so found some silver to the rest is bling, bling
  20. digging the aluminum again tody, and found a nice 14 k yellow gold ring I was using the XP-ORX and in the deep program 75gain, 2 recovery speed, 17.2khz and 7 disc the ring s VDI was 49,50 really getting in with the junk foils Its made by Aurelie GI and is solid 14 k they recycle old jewellery and make new rings with it this is now ring number 3 for 2022 made from gold , just amazing how the grass can conceal things
