  1. again using the coin fast -8.4 khz- 2.5 sweep speed in coin fast with a disc set up to 45 i found a nice 925 silver ring today. and the normal finds. also decided to dig out some iron , but the bottle cap fooled me it came in at a solid 95 right where quarters come in at but happy with the finds
  2. using my ORX in coin fast at 8.4 khz- 2.5 sweep speed,-and disc set up to 45 i managed to find this nice silver ring
  3. out again with the same program settings, and reaping a good catch of cladd. Coin fast- 8.4 khz- 2.5 sweep speed- 82 gain. - 45 Disc- x 35 coil using the ORX
  4. Took the ORX to a tot lot and used the park program 8.4 khz. 2.5 sweep speed and a gaine of 79 and had the disc set to 45 and was using Coin Fast and i really cleaned house this time . 14 quarters - 7 dimes- and 6 nickles and a few pennys , and some heavy foils .but the light foils sounded low and would get lost at about 2" and i would say a good hunt .the nice thing is because the ORX is so darn light i was able to cover the hole tot lot 50 feet x 50 feet. also found a brass dog walking thing. The Funny thing is I have been sneering at this tot lot sins early spring. figuring it was a dud .

  6. if the ground gets mineralized i have the Gold 1 program, and use the IAR at 2or 3. and its going to tell you what is good and badd most of the time
  7. Out again with the park settings , but i raised the gaine to 72 this time i raised the gaine to 72. ran quite and picked out alot of good targets in a baseball park. and close to the fences as well the program is coins fast 8.4khz Disq on 45 and sweep speed @ 2.5 ignores small foils, even sees thru them to hit coins with a higher tone . I dig can slaw and tabs to find rings i find quarters get a 95 and dimes a 91 sincs 81 83 nickles 63- 65 i think i came out with 97 cents, not counting the zincs
  8. well when they are corroded -NO wish they made them of plastic
  9. and by the way this was just a 15 minute hunt,
  10. wanted to get out and try my park settings with the ORX. The settings are the following ( gain 56- Disc 45- coinfast- 8.4khz- X-35 coil , and the one thing i did not dig is small foil. I got fooled by the iron strap thingand one bottle cap . and its amazing how deep you can still hit those tabs and coins. but with a faint signal so i am very happy with the setti
  11. Well, I just sold my Deus 5.2 and kept the ORX , I needed money for a bike, the 5.2 has a lot more adjustments, that can probably make a difference in the field, but what i like about the orx is is just as deep as the deus , and very simple and capable , and i like the inexpensive headphones for the orx. Vs the deus ,which i cant seem to find headphones for less than 250.00 WTH. so the ORX has all the basics, and I am good with that , and i like the Gold 1 and all it can do ,so in the end its the ORX i did not sell
  12. I wanted to set up the ORX for shallow park hunting. so i chose the coin fast program.and used a low 56 sensitivity , and set the disc at 45 to make a low tone on small foil, and the reaction was on 2.5 and at that setting i could still get a good signal on a 6" dime and on pull tabs7" now the small foil can be picked up at 4and 5 " but makes a low so i did one more test i took the small foil, which is flat not crumpled ,set a penny under a cup turned upside down, and put the foil on top . in fact two pieces of small foil about the size of a quarter covering the penny 3.5" under and i got a mid tone and not a low , If the penny was removed i got a low . so the ORX can get thru small foils and at least give a mid tone thru the small foils and that for just shallow park hunting. and i was using the 8.4 khz for the test as it is less responsive to foils, but still hits on tabs and nickles good .so i can find rings
  13. my settings- 6.4 khz Mix mode, sensitivity was 7, and threshold set at 1 , black sand on ,salt on and balanced to 39. and ground balanced to 616 .and was using the 12" DD coil I hunted a park ,where the old swing set was . and the soil was glacial gravel & sand.and i got a nice solid 18-20 and had to dig way down to 1" past the depth of the pinponter and up comes a clad quarter. It was a solid 10" deep I was impressed. the other quarter was 7" . and i found several tabs down at the 10" level as well . but again small foil. Also out of the hole came several egg size basalt rocks that did not seem to block the signal to my 10" quarter . So I know this machine can find the silver if its down in the ground very pleased with the tarsacci
  14. Took the Tarsacci into the park . and if you ask me it did very well .I dug no small foils, and it was hitting targets deep and shallow ,i dug about 4 targets in the 9" range. and you can tell they are deeper the way the pin point blurs and is not as sharp as a surface target. I found its best to just swing slow and take it easy. I hunted for about 20 minutes and just kept finding targets. I am very pleased so far with this detector my setting was 6.4 khz 5 gain -1 threshold black sand on , and salt on and set to 41 which helps ignore small foils
  15. I should use it then and see what happens, up till now I have not used it
  16. Can someone ex plane to me what this is, and how to work it , I think i am missing something
  17. I have a 7" dime and 6.4khz hits it best, but i did scroll thru all the others, up to 18khz. I got some loss of depth at18khz but still got the signal well.so if you are in iron prone spot and probly could not get deep anyway 18khz could serve you well. and around EMI having the BLACK SAND ON helps simmer it down
  18. i found very small coils are more efected by iron . the smallest i would go is an 8x7 DD
  19. I had a equinox 600 and i got rid of it ,to me it falsed badly on cut nails and It was hell to swing , was prone to leak. some of its good points are ,good target I,D in average soil and good depth , I now own a tarsacci and its not badd to swing and its built alot better. handles mineralized ground alot better , and small foils , If i had a choice its the Tar machine
