  1. F350 it’s a bit smaller than a quarter and fairly thin. I was thinking it was a badge from an old gold detector. GB is right I probably should have put it in the gold forum but I’ll just let it sit here I think.
  2. You are right GB, I didn’t think about that.
  3. I found a gold disc last year detecting near a small gold dig. It was kinda gooey black on one side. I noticed it had writing under the goo so I sanded it off a bit. I’m not sure what it’s from but it’s now glued to my D-2. Any ideas?
  4. This is a fantastic post Doc. I have found a few gold rush era knives. I really like your posts, keep it going.
  5. That is a neat ring and a great find.
  6. Looks like a fun and exciting hunt. Good job on getting through the fence, I tend to rip my pants doing that. I also run the D-2 and in sites like that notching the lower numbers is your friend. I have Gold Rush sites with so much iron it will drive you nuts without the notch.
  7. I just updated at 7:30 pm pacific time no problem.
  8. Finding the good stuff Doc. Appears to be an early site. Have fun!
  9. It was an unexpected surprise for sure and one good memory. Post rinse pics at the actual dig site
  10. Both coins were maybe 2 feet apart. They both rang up 96 on the D2 and the half came out first. I was in awe because I wasn’t expecting this. Thank you for the replies everyone.
  11. It has been a while for sure and I don’t always post my finds. This one was kinda epic for me because I was just looking for spare change. Went back this afternoon and nothing but modern junk. I do really enjoy your posts. 😀
  12. Panning is too hard on the body. I like detecting much more. Occasionally digging up a target as opposed to being squatted all day ☹️
  13. A couple weeks ago I took the wife gold panning/sluicing. That stuff is hard on my knees so, I fired up the D2 and just went walking down a short washed out road along the creek. Well after a few bullet casings I got a 96 X2 and this is what I popped out. Dumb luck or just lucky I guess. California Mother Lode keeps giving.
