Talk about a great hunt. You found a bit of everything. I have yet to find a Barber of any sort. The apex gets it done.

Nice finds. I am not an expert, but I looked up your Chinese coin. I believe it is:
Kangxi Emperor (also known as Shengzu - 1662-1722)
Kangxi EmperorThe Kangxi emperor, personal name Xuanye, was the third Emperor of the Qing dynasty, and the second Qing emperor to rule over China proper. The Kangxi emperor's reign of 61 years makes him the longest-reigning emperor in Chinese history and one of the longest-reigning rulers in the world.WikipediaPretty cool Randy. I’ll be up there tomorrow to look for more.

Well, I guess you really earned that Indian. Lots of work but the chance of finding something good is there. Nice truck! We have a 2017 F250 and it’s a beast. Diesel here is running 4.50 to 5 bucks a gallon. California is killer on the wallet.

Congrats on the bust liberty half dime, you don't see many of those being dug!!
Thank you. That makes 2 for this site.

That looks like a terrible place to swing a coil. I can imagine falling and getting impaled by a cut stalk. Cool ring find!

Ok get on a plane and come out here! You can be my color commentator. A coworker says who needs oak Island when we have you so, maybe I should make videos like Cal Cobra? What do you think? Tom_in_CA could be the technical advisor and script writer.

My wording is not as great as my humor, yes ask my wife I’m very inappropriate and love stupid humor. I try to be good on here as to not offend anyone. In person you couldn’t keep up !!

Rich I cannot get good pics with the new phone, Apple lied. My old 8 took better pics than this 12 junk. I’m trying though.

I tried to grade that half dime (great find, BTW) and had trouble tying it down, but somewhere in the high fine to mid very fine region. Half dimes are tough to get with an MD but you nailed this one!
I barely nailed it. I was in pretty thick iron. Thanks GB!

Sorry Chris,
Us "older" and/or "retired" guys sometimes forget that most of you "younger" guys are still working!🤣
Who knows, you may be older than me, and still working! Nothing wrong with that either! You know what I mean!!😁👍👍
I’m 52 and still hard at it. Here are pics through an old loupe.

I’m at work so, I’ll get a better pic tonight.

Thanks Chris, I'm grateful that I find anything. The 1911 wheat penny tells me I'm in or close to Barber era, but the silver isn't gonna jump out without removing a lot of the trash. I wonder sometimes if they sent all the Barbers out west! 😀 I've still got two more unexplored farmhouses to go, and a lot to revisit with greater experience and this great coil. It can really sift through the junk. All the coins I did find were not clear signals at first, nor was my initial understanding of the Equinox.
I use an old Army trick and wear a bandana like I used to wear under my helmet. Not a stranger to sweat 🙂 84 isn't hot like it was in August but there wasn't any shade unless we got behind our vehicles.
Funny thing is I have dug hundreds of wheats but never a Barber. I think they may all be on the east coast. I can burn through a couple sweat bands a day and use bandannas/hankies to keep my glasses dry. The heat sucks. Are you really liking the Coiltek? I may pick one up. She will only use the 6” coil, doesn’t like swinging the 11.

Hey Rich I am a funny guy. 😂

The wife and I spent a few really smoky hours at the gold rush camp site. It has been a little harder to find the good targets. The ground is hard as hell and I had to make a thin custom pick to break up the ground. I was digging mostly old round balls and sprue pieces with the DEUS. She was complaining about square nails coming up as 17 on the Nox. So I lowered the sensitivity and upped the recovery speed a bit which was just a guess? Anyways the next sweep netted a half dime and she is possibly still mad at me for finding it at her feet. Chinese coin was a lucky find on my way out. I can’t seem to take a good pic with this 12 Pro max so this is the best I can do. Thanks for looking.

Hey F350, CVISChris here using my alias because I messed something up when the forum was down. May not be the greatest finds for you but fun nonetheless right? The heat sucks but that’s what hats and sweatbands are for. I’m sure you will pull something cool out of there. I enjoy reading all your posts so keep at it.

Outstanding finds, Chris. That 5 franc coin is huge! Bet it blew your mind to have the detector max out on something and it wasn't crap. 😀 Even the jewelry looks French. 👍 Cool half Reale too.
F350, it was quite a shock for sure. I now have that kinda weird overload sound in my head! I’ll dig those from now on.

Tom, so far American, Spanish, Swedish and now a French coin. It is such a thrilling place to detect.

Two recent trips with the trusty Deus. Still the same gold rush camp from the previous posts under my other name CVISChris. The 5 Fanc was maybe only 2 inches deep but had a nail close so it sounded weird but showed 96/97. The little half Real was in a rock foundation and was found with the pin pointer. Not sure about the gold gilt thing.

Went out to the camp site today. I stole the Equinox from the wife. I was using the 6” coil and working between the rocks. This is the better stuff from today minus nails, lead and two horseshoes. A couple percussion caps. One marked “GD”. A really cool knife with handle in tact. Finally one of the nicest buckles I have dug. All looks good considering the 170 years they have been laying around.
