  1. Never felt the need for a pin pointer on the beach and I've been wet sand beach hunting for about 14 years...If I'm dirt hunting though, which I hardly ever do, I would definitely use one.
  2. Hope Fisher is still around to honor the 2 year warranty on this machine, with the potential problems it can have, that warranty comes in very handy..😉
  3. Ok, so that means the version they are selling now is the final improved version of the detector? If so what improvements have been made to the "Limited" version? Have all the issues been addressed such as faulty potentiometers? Has the short 3 hour battery life been extended? Has the fragile cables sticking out the back been redesigned so there is no risk of breakage? I just don't see the justification of charging an additional $500 If no issues were fixed from the feedback they received from the first "100" units..
  4. What I don't get Is how they can think to charge $2000 on a machine that originally cost $1500 when it was released several years ago. There have been no improvements to the design that I can see?
  5. I primarily hunt beaches, specifically wet sand, so if it brings something new to the table that other machines haven't so far, then I might consider it, otherwise I'm still happy and pulling plenty of gold/silver with my outdated Sov.GT and my Fisher AQ...😉 Would love to see some videos of it being used on some wet sand beaches..
  6. Just gotta be at the right place, at the right time, and before all the you tube vultures find out. 😉
  7. Sweeet! congrats on a successful return, looks like a T&CO Elsa Peretti open heart pendant, very pricey! 👍
  8. Serious Detecting has one available (last one) they have sold 2 so far on Ebay..
  9. Is a tool used for smoking cannabis oil... The one below isn't exactly like the one you found but you get the idea... https://empiresmokes.com/products/ak-47-dabber
  10. Hey KOB! Yup I still use mine and thankfully I haven't had any technical problems with it since the last time I sent it in for warranty repair about a year ago for a faulty potentiometer issue. Felix handled the warranty repair and they did a good job of repairing it and getting it back to me quickly with no money out of my pocket thankfully. Now that my warranty has been up for about a year I got my fingers crossed. I did have a few issues with it recently, a broken "Clevus" and broken arm cuff. I bought a spare clevus & rod long ago when others were having problems with theirs so I took care of that problem quickly when it broke recently. The arm cuff I replaced with an after market aluminum cuff, plastic arm cuffs just don't hold up for me and always crack and break eventually. Its a great machine but I would not buy one for 2g's and not without the warranty to back it up. July has been slow for gold so far but with all the heat we've been having lately more people are heading to the beaches so hopefully some gold is being dropped by the masses. I've been seeing more detectorist out on the beaches in the wee hours of the morning, the good news is a lot of them don't know how to swing a detector, a lot of smiley face golf swinging goin on.
  11. Hmmmmm....You must be hunting L.A beaches, Santa Monica?
  12. I still love my AQ, even after the few times I've had to send it in for warranty repair (potentiometer issues). Pulled loads of gold with it and has paid for itself many times over. OBN's big boy battery is still working great as well and allows me to spend as much time as I want on the beach without worry. I definitely think they need to source more reliable potentiometers, seems to be a common issue with these units. On a side note, I still love my Sovereign GT as well for beach hunting, I have no need for a screen, just let me hear those sweet mid/low gold tones and I'm happy...😁
  13. Excellent hunt George! Congrats on the Whoppa! Hope you get a nice reward If you manage to return that sucker!
  14. Nice hunt George! Congrats on the silver & Ray Bans! I got stuck with Jury Duty today and missed out on all the fun ☹
  15. Wow, that sucker is hyuuuuge! Congrats on a big time score! 🤑
  16. I sent an email to FTP sales support (Arturo Barrientos) asking If there is a 10" coil available for the Fisher AQ, his reply was that there is not one available...
  17. Did the author mean 8" coil, or is there actually a 10" coil available?
  18. Congrats on the old gold there Joe! Good to see your out using the AQ again!
