  1. Just an update, White's UK is now officially closed. They closed their doors on the 30th November. I was told by my local dealer. That unfortunately there is no Warranty support or repair facilities in the UK or Europe now.
  2. The little ditty, is Money Money Money by Abba. I wish less time was spent wasting time on an easter egg, and more on the development and testing. I had no end of trouble with the TRX, water ingress, around the on off switch, foam insert in battery cap failing and not pushing against the battery, sounding off when nowhere near ground especially if you rotated it towards the sky. All were known issues, I had 4 TRX's in the end White's UK replacing them. I went back to my old garrett pinpointer
  3. That looks like an old classic II PCB, 1998 board marker. is that the board thats in the GMZ too?
  4. Just noticed this on the White's USA website, offloading of factory machinery. Full list of equipment can be found here Equipment ranging from Forklifts to Scopes and Drill presses Can't purchase any of this in the UK, but I thought it would interest members from the USA Whites-Equipment-List.pdf
  5. I've just heard that White's in the UK is shutting its doors on the 20th of November
  6. @Dino Roy I noticed that the manual does have a date on it, revision of April 1974. I could be wrong, but I thought the the double digit code was as follows, based on the old machines I have GA -1971 GB - 1972 GC - 1973 etc so in theory GG would be 1977
  7. HI @pjrough I don't know where you are based but Warranty work is still being carried out at White's UK in Inverness. If you go through you dealer you bought it from, they will send it to Inverness. I don't know if you contact Inverness direct if they will pick up the unit from you for repair, to save going through your dealer. Get in touch with Whites UK to see what they say. White’s Electronics Factory, U.K. Office hours 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday-Thursday 8:30 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. Friday Questions regarding White’s Electronics products Send to: info@whites.co.uk Phone 01463 223456 Address White’s Electronics (UK) Ltd 35 Harbour Road Inverness, Scotland, IV1 1UA
  8. To me that sound like a coil issue to me @coogeedan You mentioned different coils, are all the coils VSpec, you can see on the side of the loop ears if they are stamped with a V these are suitable for the VX3 and V3i Is there any point where the coils become stable when the gain is turned down on the unit?
  9. I know its not quite in keeping with original post, but I thought I would mention it I don't know if anyone else has had this issue with their spectrasound headphones, And i've read on other forums that other people have similar issues. My friend had the clips on the side of the headband crack. The ironic thing is he never used them from new they sat in the V3i box. because he used a pair of good ol faithful Gray Ghost headphones White's use to sell a headphone repair kit, I don't know if you'll be able to get replacement clips when and if your clips break https://www.whiteselectronics.com/product/wireless-headphone-ear-cup-mount-repair-kit/
  10. Direct from the factory in Inverness? Everytime I phone I just get the answer machine, maybe they are on reduced office hours, I'll try again on Monday, thanks RR
  11. Hey guys, I just joined the group, after hearing about this on facebook. I'm in the UK and I've been a White's user for 20 years. I can't get any answers from the UK. My V3i is in for repair which has been up there since before lockdown started (end of March in the UK) Does anyone know if I'll be able to get my V3i back or has White's UK pulled the shutters down as well? I was thinking if the USA can't supply the UK with Detectors, does that mean they wont be able to get parts too? Thanks anyone who can shed any light
