  1. which is why JP consistently has said don't use audio smoothing...
  2. what I was haltingly trying to say in my post above. (Although I too would certainly take JP's advice 'way before mine)
  3. Haha phrunt, clip it on your shoulder strap and forget about it. (joke)
  4. I also rely on the SPo1. Cranking the volume up straight from the GPZ, for me, brings with it "messy" audio (the best I can describe it from an incredibly "lay" perspective). When I use either the B&Z - which I used for a decade - or now with the SPo1 specifically, I can keep a lower "less messy" audio volume on the 7000 yet raise and brighten the volume of signals (using the #1 setting). Obviously this is tragically untechnical, but I know what I hear, and using the SPo1, my signals stand out and are crisper. I should add that I have hearing loss in both ears, with one worse than the other, and perhaps what the enhancer is able to do has a more marked effect on my hearing than someone with normal hearing.
  5. Some hard, smart work went into that total. Nice going.
  6. They have some very clear YouTube's on how to use it and how to change the sensitivity etc.
  7. 121 in Woodland Hills right now. 105 up in the hills at our house. It's strange and yes, weird.
  8. I do "speak" to him on forums infrequently. And for me it would be "coming up." Anyway if you are able to and think of it, keep me up-to-date maybe on PM's. Thank you...
  9. nice move, good gold. Stay safe and well.
  10. Ouch. That seems like 'out of nowhere.' He seemed like a very nice and knowledgable man. I wish his family well.
  11. Gerry if you can get Largo down to RP will you please let me know? I have been trying to meet him for years. He seems like a great gent.
  12. I drank a quart of water just watching those guys. If it weren't so danged hot I'd take my hat off to them. Thank you.
  13. As usual Jason and Chet and Reg make good points. If the new coil has any kind of improvement in performance and is lighter, I'm in.
  14. It is baffling why, when you have a chance to make a new x-type coil, with MineLab's help, you choose to make what is essentially a clone of the stock coil. That simply does not make sense. Perhaps it is more sensitive? That is the only reason I can come up with for that kind of an economic decision. Even if it is a touch lighter, does that alone justify the expenditure? For me that is "no." I hope I have missed something, because otherwise, I don't get it.
  15. Agree, at least with gold prospecting.
  16. Thanks for providing us with a successful gold finding vacation vicariously. You and Chet make a good team. You are sure right about the manzanita, I think sometimes that is one of the main reasons there is still some gold left in a few of the motherlode areas, that manzanita was just too thick and tough.
  17. I love the area as so many of us do, but have no earthly idea about the incredibly confusing geology. Every nugget I have found there seems random although I know it's probably not.
  18. I would only hope that if one day, when you invent something successful that you don't have someone make that kind of suggestion. I actually know first hand how much effort went into designing and making it and how difficult it was getting it out to customers. Chewing done.
  19. You're a relatively young gent. Wait awhile…that machine is too heavy for the majority of people. Also, and I don't expect you to believe me (which is fine), but the way to be able to lug that detector over the kinds of terrain you cover is to start using a HipStick now. Don't wait til it hurts. Best wishes...
