You both look happy. Good work and I agree helping someone is one of the best feelings you can have. My parents taught me it is a privilege when you are given the opportunity to help. Lucky you.

Just have to wonder what in hell the sheriff is doing (or not doing, and why). Surely Jason you aren't the first person to report massive theft out there. It sounds like a really messed up place (except for Dolan Dave of course).

That little area sounds like a full-blown grifter paradise. I hate hearing about all this seemingly incidental accidental forgetfulness - it is another form of bunko plain and simple. Sorry you had to get involved involuntary as it was. It is infuriating and all too common in this country these days.

Well that is good news. I am one of the ones who was paranoid mainly because I have an unerring ability to mess up things like cutting cable cords to make patch leads haha.
Thanks for posting. (come on June).

Nice story Rob. Fred sounded like someone worth knowing I am sorry I never got the chance to meet him in person.

Long periods between targets makes me sore and grouchy.
The ultimate in "incentive." Good luck.

Thanks for posting. There's been a scarcity of gold shown lately. Those must have been fun to find.
And, "beer virus" is pretty funny, I think I'll call it that from now on...

Nice eye Steve…It is ridiculous the lengths spammers go to. I wonder what percentage of takers they get for their work.

Maybe try here?

I'm sure ML (and NF), knows that the first thing that will happen with a new coils' release is that it will be tested and compared to an x-coil. Maybe dumbing down is an apt term but is carries a worrisome connotation in the world of comparisons.

You splice a cable, put a GPX connector on the old coil
Just to be clear. I am not willing to do that - so this upcoming NF coil will be of great interest.

so the replacement will likely be the same?
Yes. Mine is a replacement.

Thank you JP, I have actually been doing the same thing - especially when I see that the unit seems to be happy to just keep on blinking. I didn't know the battery would far outlast a 7000 battery so that makes all the difference in my approach to how to handle it. I had never seen that information before.

Thanks guys. I do have a new-ish WM-12 and I use the usb cable plugged into the GPZ battery charger that has a usb port on the side. Thanks Chet for the slow-charge-for-safety information. It makes sense as your posts usually do.
-
Why oh why does the WM12 take such an unusually long time to recharge when the GPZ battery charges in a couple of hours, and other electronic equipment charges in (much) less time than that? I am not actually complaining but I am very curious why this is so.
Anyone?
-
Good one guys…the social distancing? mmmmmm. haha.

Fred's presence is going to be missed. Didn't we always know that if we were a touch off in our opinions or our information we could count on Fred to set us straight in his uniquely outspoken and bottom line way that was usually followed up with a comment of kindness that would let you down easy. I loved seeing that Fred had posted because, like most of us, I looked forward to an experienced and smart comment and he rarely let us down. He has undoubtedly moved on to better diggings and while his passing is our loss, it is heaven's gain. Rest easy friend and thank you.

I will not detect with my 7000 without it, it's made that much of a difference.
(okay, I might detect without it but you know what I mean - it's really good)
