Yup, I wrapped my ferrite ring in bubble wrap.
I can toss it anywhere (and have), and it's protected perfectly.

I wish you well too John, your equipment posts are great, thanks the taking the time.

These are cool videos.
Thank you for taking the time.
I am sure the basic flow on a mac will be fairly close.
Best wishes!

I hope that a breakthrough in discrimination and less overall detector weight will be the next major changes in the technology.

My back-up is a 5000 only because I was lucky enough to find a wonderful deal
on a very clean 7000 without having to sell the GPX.
I also then, have a worthy detector in case someone needs to borrow one.
I am luckier than most, for sure.

Fred I noticed the same thing with my Deepseeker as well.

Hi Ammie,
The only time you have a real chance of finding anything from the 1715 fleet is during a hurricane or an exceptionally strong storm that cuts the beaches down a very long way. Over the years as you probably know, the dune line on A1A has eroded back quite a bit as well. At the colored beach site, the only time the old timers get excited is when the cut is so deep, the old highway starts to show. Best of luck…

Ok, I downloaded the update to my Mac desk top. I plugged in the usb cable from the computer to the 7000. I powered up the 7000 and waited until I saw the 7000 hard disk icon on the computer desk top. Then I double clicked the 7000 hard drive icon and dragged the update onto the open hard drive. After it updated (a short time), I dragged the 7000 hard drive icon to the trash (this ejects it). Then I disconnected the usb cable and followed the prompts on the screen of the 7000.
It worked perfectly.

Thanks, I'll give it a try.

The beach areas around the 1715 wreck areas (and you know where they are, but generally from Gold Beach to the North past Sebastian Inlet), are among the most highly regulated beach areas in the country - with good reason obviously - there have been many amazing finds both on the beaches and out in the lease areas.

Thanks once again Steve for taking the time to provide details for us all. Do you happen to know if the update will work on Mac's?

I wish there was a way to get a Supersede pick head shipped here as well.
That is my second most-liked pick but I do not own one.
-
That is probably the most valuable American coin to find. Congratulations to the finder its a thrill just to know someone found one.
-
This pick was designed by a man who went by the handle of joeforthegold. Bunk makes it now and both gents do a great job manufacturing them. It is an outstanding pick with tremendous power and relatively light weight. For desert prospecting it can't be beat - opinion of course. For heavy hardpacked soil and rock you may need to augment that pick with a heavier brand, but overall it is one of the very best.

Super- sede that was made in OZ.
Long handle... Very sharp replaceable heads with great digging winged rear blade.
Made with some kind of annealed metal that seemed much lighter that a steel plate one I tried to make.
Unfortunately, they are no longer being produced commercially. I just have this to say it was definitely the best pick I have ever used.... and of course JP is the one who let me use my first one.

My mistake was not bringing it back with me when I had the chance!
On another note,
I hope to meet up with the gentleman that made then when I go to OZ in June....To learn how he made them. He seems like a very nice guy and I'm looking forward to meeting him.
Got lots to do while in OZ this year...counting down the days Rege.
60 days, 12 hrs, 35 minutes, 48 seconds

Hi Paul, If you learn how to make a supersede, you have your first customer.
have a great time in any case…

Such fun to see stories like Syd's. Wishing him many more dreams come true.

I also got mine for a similar price…

I always look forward to your in-depth reviews Lunk. Between you, Steve and JP we amateurs get to make leaps in our experience without ever getting out of our chairs. Only half joking here. Thank you for taking the time to inform us.

good solution to a constant problem with switches like these.

HardPack, great post. I am trying to imagine the runoff this season, it should be exciting. I hope you get to detect soon it sounds as though it's been a long winter. Best…

Steve, again you have raised the level of this forum with an energetic, through and provocative post that helps everyone. There are a lot of us who appreciate the attention you consistently give the site to make it, and us, better.
It is also helpful and interesting to see the replies a post like this generates.
Thanks…

Another great idea for a review and a fun read. You are doing work that most of us cannot, or would not, do even if we had the machines you have acquired, so a big thank you for that. This tendency of yours to write up details about detecting that almost no-one comes up with is one of the many reasons this forum is the best one going.
(I was sort of hoping you'd be unhappy with the 3030 and want to sell it (joke))
