  1. Hi Norm, the correct reset procedure duly noted. Thank you for taking the time.
  2. Can someone remind us how to do a power restart on the 7000? (sorry about the problem Phoenix)
  3. I love my Sun Ray Pro Gold's, but shame on Minelab. Selling a ten thousand dollar detector that comes with only adequate headphones, is an example of cost savings at the expense of a loyal customer base that does a disservice to us all. Surely their bottom line cannot be that thin.
  4. Jim, There are a lot of people who sympathize with your physical difficulties. Whether we are conscious of it or not, all of us have a limit on the time we will be able to detect without difficulty. Best of luck.
  5. RickUK I totally agree with you. There is simply no way I am going to fork over hard-earned funds on advertising alone. There are so many adept field testers both here, in the UK and in Australia. I will wait until they have put the (fill in name of new untested detector here), through its paces. That being said, I really hope the Equinox lives up to the hype.
  6. Yeah duct tape and rope, the answer for half of what goes wrong in the field…
  7. Best way to show gold collection: With photographs taken before it is locked away in a safety deposit box. Sad but true.
  8. It would be fun to hear a translation of the Russian vid. It appears they may have gotten into more detail than the other ones that have been put up.
  9. Hi Peg, I am sure most of us would agree that a Rye Patch chevron piece is the equivalent of a lunker in anyones book. Nice job!
  10. Another great idea for a review and a fun read. You are doing work that most of us cannot, or would not, do even if we had the machines you have acquired, so a big thank you for that. This tendency of yours to write up details about detecting that almost no-one comes up with is one of the many reasons this forum is the best one going. (I was sort of hoping you'd be unhappy with the 3030 and want to sell it (joke))
  11. Yup, I wrapped my ferrite ring in bubble wrap. I can toss it anywhere (and have), and it's protected perfectly.
  12. I wish you well too John, your equipment posts are great, thanks the taking the time.
  13. These are cool videos. Thank you for taking the time. I am sure the basic flow on a mac will be fairly close. Best wishes!
  14. I hope that a breakthrough in discrimination and less overall detector weight will be the next major changes in the technology.
  15. My back-up is a 5000 only because I was lucky enough to find a wonderful deal on a very clean 7000 without having to sell the GPX. I also then, have a worthy detector in case someone needs to borrow one. I am luckier than most, for sure.
  16. Fred I noticed the same thing with my Deepseeker as well.
  17. Hi Ammie, The only time you have a real chance of finding anything from the 1715 fleet is during a hurricane or an exceptionally strong storm that cuts the beaches down a very long way. Over the years as you probably know, the dune line on A1A has eroded back quite a bit as well. At the colored beach site, the only time the old timers get excited is when the cut is so deep, the old highway starts to show. Best of luck…
  18. Ok, I downloaded the update to my Mac desk top. I plugged in the usb cable from the computer to the 7000. I powered up the 7000 and waited until I saw the 7000 hard disk icon on the computer desk top. Then I double clicked the 7000 hard drive icon and dragged the update onto the open hard drive. After it updated (a short time), I dragged the 7000 hard drive icon to the trash (this ejects it). Then I disconnected the usb cable and followed the prompts on the screen of the 7000. It worked perfectly.
  19. The beach areas around the 1715 wreck areas (and you know where they are, but generally from Gold Beach to the North past Sebastian Inlet), are among the most highly regulated beach areas in the country - with good reason obviously - there have been many amazing finds both on the beaches and out in the lease areas.
  20. Thanks once again Steve for taking the time to provide details for us all. Do you happen to know if the update will work on Mac's?
