  1. The wsa2 were brand new. I figured they were already that way. Anyway I am fine with version .71.....basically just use it for the large number anyway with stock program
  2. Tried to pair my wsa2 headphones to my ws6 puck today. Would not work at all on the 1.01 firmware. Kept thinking I was doing something wrong. I had to go back to .71 for it all to pair up again. I am fine with that personally but it really doesn't make sense. Anyone else have to do that?
  3. Very good finds!! What headphone configuration were you using??
  4. The guys over in that part of the world make good stuff!! How does the unit turn on and off coming out of the sheath?? Magnetic switch maybe? Looking forward to your videos on it.
  5. XP has the best units for being portable with the smallest footprint On your xterra pro.....it isnt going to be very handy breaking it down but there is a thing you could buy that does allow you to have a folding handle. But you could just take the coil and lower stem off and just put them side by side and it will slip down into a backpack.
  6. I have not tried the new coil that nokta has now with the legend. I had the 11 inch and also bought the lg24 elliptical. I like the 11 inch coil and for old house yards I liked the lg24. The legend is a good solid unit. Well made and you can see the screen in the sunlight. Not many units out there are you able to see the screen so well. The ergonomics of xp units are superior. And if you go with the ws6 master set up with the puck on the stem and the wasii wireless backphones you will have the lightest TID machine available. Yes it takes a little to get used to navigating the menu on the puck. But once you configure it you will pretty much be set. I think what I like about the most of the XP stuff is that it is so small. You can take 1 control rod, 3 coils, orx remote, deus 1 remote, deus 2 puck and 2 sets of back phones and keep them all handy in a backpack or bag nearby. The footprint of XP units 1/3-1/2 the size of the other machines. I think that is my favorite part about the XP detectors.
  7. I was very surprised at the size of the XP facility.....and they pay extra for the employees that ride a bicycle to work!!
  8. Got my WS6 master today. I went and turned it on and it is already on version 1.01 So that saved a lot of hassle right off of the bat!! I went through some of the settings and now I see I can have tone breaks in different segments in the full tone option! That's wild as it is something I never thought about before. Also I see where I can adjust the highest freq as well in the SMF programs! Now that in itself is on a different level of Technology if you ask me.You can make one for old coins aside from the Deep HC and also for mid conductors like brass and lead for relic hunting. Very interesting indeed!! Thank you all for all of your expert advice. This is the best forum online to seek out this sort of advice!!
  9. Ok then.....it will be 1.1 I may just try it for a while as a lite set up without the pod on the stem and see what happens. That was the fun thing about tesoro units....it beeped and you just never knew what you were gonna pull up. But with a full tone option it does have an advantage over single tone
  10. Thanks for all of the great responses. I appreciate everyone's input. I may try that 1.0 as it seems from to allow that few more tweaks and pluses to the audio response of targets before they are dug. I also like the idea of the break point between where ferrous and non ferrous targets begin. As i have dug small lead bullets from the buck and ball civil war era previously near the bottom end of the ferrous spectrum. Thanks again for everyone's great response. Exactly what I was looking for!!
  11. What version are you guys swinging now? So I haven't used a deus 2 for a bit. Have a new ws6 set up coming in this week. With that said I used the ws6 as a master set up with the wsa2 backphones with the puck on the stem before XP offered it as a package. That was all I used for my main Deus 2 set up anyway. With that said I did download the .71 version for the larger TID number on the puck. My go to program was 4, zero notch or BC settings, full tones and square audio. I had planned on sticking with that same .71 firmware but wanted to pick the brains of some of you who may know the benefits other than what the b.s. "3D" iron and coin test video that sparked so much interest from certain ones that should not have so much influence to the manufacturer's. Thanks in advanced!!
  12. Good info. I saw paystreak doing that as well in his videos. By chance did you try the mono program in that bad emi area and if so did it tame it down any or was it still a nuisance?
  13. Yes, as a matter of fact when I was trying to figure out what configuration Deus 1 to go back to XP didn't offer or quit offering an HF 9 inch coil package. So I got online and was looking at the XP website going through all of the accessories that is listed and saw the ORX and Deus remotes. Then I thought.....ok then, I am going to get a new ORX set up with the round HF coil along with a new deus remote. Since then I have purchased a complete deus control rod along with the elliptical coil and placed my orx remote on that set up. On the XP website it says version 3 or the deus 1 remotes made post 2018 will connect to the ORX backphones. So I have that option too. Now the nokta legend is a great machine. I like it alot...it is not very prone to EMI and it runs circles around that new equinox 900 in areas one would not even be able to use the new equinox 900....without even doing a frequency scan. My buddy brought over a new legend he just purchased and asked me to set it up for him. I did so and the first target he dug with it was a civil war bullet in my mom in laws backyard in which I have only found clad coins and old hot wheels....maybe a few dog tags...been swinging in there since 2006...built in the 1970s...can you believe that!! Anyways, I went ahead and traded my legend in for a ws6 set up. Going back to the HF coils....here at home I found a small Civil war campsite back in 2014. With that said...I found old forks, spoons, parts of lanterns, odd and ends along with aa couple of buck and ball shot bullets, camp lead and a pair of US bit bosses. With the other units I only found a total of 3 musket balls and some camp lead where they were casting bullets. I thought there was no more out there. When I purchased my first ORX I went out to the same spot that I ran an MXT, F75, T2, Several Tesoros, V3i, Equinox 600 and who knows what else over a 2 year period. I found 21 more shot bullets in the exact same place running 31khz with both the ORX and the original Deus!! Like I said, the legend is a great unit. I only traded it toward the ws6 master to not have to shell out all of the cash and to stick with the convenient accessories shared between the XP line.
  14. Sounds good Jeff. Yessir I have a few things laying around too!! The coolest part between the XP ORX and Deus 1 is that everything is interchangeable. Even a few things between the Deus 2 and the original XP line are as well with the backphone speakers, pin pointer, control stems and a few other items. And yes I am well aware of your youtube test and detailed synopsis between different machines too. Your detailed experiences and advice have always kept my attention and make up for the new unit reviews I miss the most since we no longer have a magazine in print. I appreciate it very much!!! Thank you!!
  15. I got the itch and had to try out some other stuff. I am not gonna get into it all. However after a couple of rounds with one particular competitors newer unit......I realized I screwed up!!! Not gonna do that any more. So back to XP with the orx, deus 1 and ws6 master. They just work better for me than anything else I have used. I know they may not be perfect but for me I don't think there is a better unit. Even if I had to just go back to one XP ORX unit i would have be happier before i sold off my other xp stuff to try out the latest and improved competitors machine. In other words....if your used to something....and know it well....don't do what I did and try to see if the grass is greener on the other side!!!! It wasn't for me!!!
  16. The legend is a very good solid unit. I was able to use it in places that the equinox 900 would not work at all due to EMI without even doing a noise cancel scan. No longer interested in minelab products for myself. Nothing personal to anyone who enjoys and has good luck with them.
  17. Exactly... it isnt what your swinging but if you swing over something worth finding and you happen to hit the target. If it isn't there you cannot find it. From my experience what has changed between mid priced point units to flagship models is how the machine interprets the feedback from the signal in the ground. Software refinements have improved on this part in modern metal detectors pretty good compared to units 10 years ago.
  18. Well maybe that rapid fire machine gun sound of "dat dat dat dat dat dat" along with the nulling out in pinpoint mode and not responding to targets under the coil isn't an emi problem but something else internally......either way I am finished with it.
  19. I can't see much problem with emi on the beach or farm fields and woodlands. But you will definitely notice it out in some city limit neighborhoods for sure.
  20. I don't know about that. However maybe your particular unit will be able to.
  21. Well I am not hanging on long enough to find out. I already made a move. I liked it up until I detected in small city neighborhood. It just went bonkers on me. I am done with it.
  22. I hope it serves you well. It may be very good on the beach. Good luck
  23. I will say this on the deus 2 vs eq900. If any of the places you are gonna be detecting in has emi I cannot say I would recommend the eq900. After owning a deus 2 and then trading it in for a new equinox 900, xp has it beat in emi prone conditions. I am not saying I hate the equinox 900 but I hit an area yesterday that it flat out went bonkers in. The targets were deep too. I had to swap units to continue and the legend performed like a champ in the same environment. So I am gonna go back to the XP stuff because of this experience. I gave it a fair chance in a few different sites for the time i owned it. But most of the places I detect do not have emi issues. However if I didn't have an extra unit with me I would not have been able to cover the area that had the best signals yesterday. I am not saying the equinox 900 is a bad unit because it does find stuff but to me for the price it cost, the shielding should be better. But you may not have to worry about that while prospecting.
