and............i bet the headphone curly cord is still too short ? Users shouldn't have to collapse the shaft to retrieve a target and no i don't believe people should have to stretch the crap out of the cord to prevent the headphones being pulled off your head, it should be right straight out of the box, an extra foot of cord over a production run of headphones would amount to stuff all given the price of the detector.

A question for JP, i have never detected Qld/Nth Qld, can you give some insight on the ground compared to WA/Vic ? Early on in the release of the Zed the guy's in Qld seemed to be going about their business without to much fuss or fanfare and doing very well whereas guys in WA/Vic were struggling with taming the Zed, now i know with some it came down to operator error but i know myself i have had the Zed in area's where it wasn't happy at all especially where i was the other day. I guess i should note i was shown to run the Zed flat out by a mate that has done extremely well this year running it on the ragged edge with threshold around default, i managed to catch up with some mates from the US this year, one of the guy's has been detecting with VLF's for 50 years and he run's his flat out in High Yield/Diff but cranks the threshold back to 11 (Bogene settings) so he just gets the occasional squeak as threshold now and then. I am still trying to find my happy space hindered by the heat now, i usually run high yield/diff and sensitivity at 16-20 but when it starts warming up drop the threshold back.

Yep, i haven't heard of too many positives with mod's in recent years despite the constant peddling of them, iv'e read of the filters being thrown in the bin because of no noticeable improvement, iv'e seen in the past independent people offering to compare a super dooper modded detector vs a standard one only for the modder to brush them aside and say they won't give an unbiased report.

Dale, thanks so much for sharing your experiences with the CTX and to freely share your patterns is a tremendous gesture considering the time that has been invested into them. One of the reasons i purchased the CTX a few years back was to do exactly what you are doing and to use it on trashy area's in the goldfields, i will get the opportunity this year and i cannot thank you enough for giving me a huge leg up on the learning curve. cheers Darren

Chris, that pic/story originated from the Minelab GPZ7000 Users Australia FB page, not much else has been said about it, well that was from a few hours back when a mate checked, not sure if any other info is out and about on it as yet, all the forums are basically running with that pic/story, the poster's position shows as Dampier so maybe found in the Karratha area but who know's.
