  1. It could be a problem with where the transmit/receive antenna is located in the pinpointer. If it's in the hand grip, it could be getting partially blocked by the users hand. I've never seen the insides of the MI-6 so that's just a guess at the problem.
  2. Nice looking machine with some interesting features. Looks like the Equinox and the Legend may have a direct contender.
  3. You'll have to contact @F350Platinum. The Relic Reaper is his baby. He is a super nice guy and you only have to give him 62% of all the silver you find with it. 🤣
  4. Great haul, okie, congrats on all the silver & gold, well done!
  5. I know you're busy, XP, and we all love the MI-6 pinpointer (well many of us anyway), but it's never too early to think about features we'd like to see on the next gen pinpointer. Personally, I'd like to see a good ferrous/non-ferrous discrimination capability on the next pinpointer. We know you excel at that capability on the Deus and Deus II, so now maybe it's time to port that ability over to the next generation XP pinpointer. And while we're making a wish-list, how about adding the switchable vibration mode to the pinpointer as well while paired to the remote. These are just some thoughts that could take the MI-6 to the next level. You're welcome! 😏
  6. True, zincolns are the government's curse on detectorists, but if they stopped producing them imagine how collectible a zincoln would be in a few years because most of them would'nt survive in the ground. 😉
  7. Wow excellent finds, Jeff, and congrats on the V-nickel and seated dime, well done!
  8. Same here, Carolina, I won't be without my MI-6 and an occasional quirk is not going to change my mind. If it doesn't connect (which is rare now), I just turn it off and on again and it's all good. 😎
  9. I too have had failure to connect when turning on the MI-6. I keep my MI-6 on my pouch on the left side of my body and I detect right-handed. One thing I've noticed is if I grab the pinpointer and turn it on too fast I think my body blocks the connection to the remote and it will either not connected or do a delayed connect. So now I make sure the MI-6 is clear of my body before I hit the on button and it connects every time. This may not work for everyone's case, but it's worked for me.
  10. Congrats on the two rings and that gold one is awesome, well done!
  11. The types of chemicals used it park fertilizers can also play havoc on coins, specially zinc pennies. I found "zincolns" in some parks from the 2000s that have deteriorated down to half a coin and in parks with milder fertilizers the 2000s pennies come out clean. I think we should load up a truck with all the rotting zinc penies and send them to the US Mint for replacement. They are obviously defective. 🤣
  12. This is currently the best option that discriminates ferrous/non-ferrous available but it can only dive to 10ft/3M. https://www.questmetaldetectors.com/xpointermax-pinpointer-discriminate
  13. Agreed. You can set some preferrences and save it as a 4th MI-6 preset on the remote, but the audio is tied to the audio (PWM or Square) of the search program being used at the time. It would be nice if you could save the audio type (PWM or Square) preferrence of the paired MI-6 to be the same across all search programs. It would also be cool to be able to use vibrate with or without the MI-6 audio in the headphones. But that's just me.
  14. Thank YOU, Steve, for everything you do. You are an artist! 😎
  15. I use the same tools for moist or dry ground. Kac's Park Probe and the hex driver (probe) are steel, I'm not sure about the metal of the Berry & Bird tool. You can see the hex driver probe is worn to a point at the tip. I go through those every other year or so and get a new one. I probe very gently with that in moist ground to just barely touch the target and only scratched a few coins when I got too agressive or in a hurry, but fortunately those were clad coins. It is also great in dry ground to pick apart compacted ground and rocks to free targets. So far, I haven't scratched any coins with kac's Park Probe but I make sure to get well under the target to provide a cushion of dirt before pulling it out.
  16. Congrats on Reaping the goods, Lodge Scent, well done! 😎
  17. I'm not in Denver, but shovels are not allowed in my local parks. I use the term "dug" very liberally. It's more of a surgical extraction. I use a 12" version of kac's Park Probe for most of my city targets. If I have to go deep, I cut a small slit in the grass and pry it open a bit to remove dirt. I put a small towel down and put any extracted dirt on it until I get the target out, then I pour the dirt back in and pinch the grass slit closed. No trace, no fuss. I have a pair of 12" hemostats with rubber coated tips if I can't get the target out with the Park Probe. Any target larger than my fist has to stay in the ground, but I'm not looking for big targets in the parks. 😉
  18. I've never seen that kind of marking. The only overstamped pieces I've seen were counterfeits. That pendant is gorgeous though. Did you test the stones? If they're diamonds, the gold is usually real. Great find regardless, congrats!
  19. LOL! I'm really fast and stealthy when I pop something good into the good pouch around other people. It usually looks like I'm throwing something in the trash pouch. Sometimes I do both at the same time to throw them off the track and always have my "pull tab face" on! 😆 That was a few days before the shaft arrived, so it was my stock D2 shaft and 9" coil. 😎
